  1. I think you can see Robinson has signed each player knowing they can play to their strengths AND the team's strengths. Bowman has been a bit off the boil for a while, but he's looking a bit more like it now. Thinking back to the end of McGhee's reign his usage of Bowman appeared to be to sub him on after 75 minutes and spend the rest of the game hammering the ball over him & McDonald's head. There isn't a single player at the club who's regressed under Robinson. He's built a team who want to play for each other. Even the overall fitness of the team has gone up, that game at the weekend, along with so many others, we'd never have won a year ago. I was seeing so many teams snatch points off us 80+ minutes in and we'd just look defeated. Think of the Dundee game a couple of weeks ago. Half the team absolutely crippled with injuries, literally finishing the game with 10 men after Frear went off. I mind Hartley absolutely ruined with cramp opted to stretch himself on the pitch rather than get a physio on and have to leave the field. It's easy to like this Motherwell team because we never give up. And also a word on Charlie Dunne. I'll hold my hands up and admit that he had me very sceptical earlier in the season. He looked absolutely terrible. But since the semi against Rangers he's absolutely stormed on. It seems to be as though now we're settled on a back 3 he's worked on his positioning and play as a centre back. He's got the pace & power to match most folk he's up against. All the while he's wandering around Lanarkshire helping the elderly. He's just an all round good c**t.
  2. I do remember years ago it was looking quite likely that we would leave Fir Park. Would imagine we wouldn't get all that much for the land Fir Park is on at this point. Besides, my worst nightmare is we leave Fir Park and end up in a dreadful stadium like St Mirren's new one. I really liked old Love Street, but the new one is grim.
  3. Was reading the BBC article on our turn around under Robinson and it's absolutely startling when you think back to that fucking shambles against Dundee. I looked up the team there: Which when that's coupled with folk like Lee Lucas & Jacob fucking Blyth around the squad as well you realise how much utter dreck Robinson has ripped out. The back four that day was absolute comedy. I mind the Dundee players walking down the tunnel laughing at half time, and fair play to them. I'd have been pishing myself playing against that.
  4. That's a good headliner tbf. I've also got a soft spot for Texas having been brought up listening to them. In fact, the first gig I ever went to was Texas at Edinburgh Castle on the millenium.
  5. What a club. Battered the Hertz out the cup then come kicking and screaming in to 2018.
  6. I'm a huge fan of watching Coe squirm over this. Can you imagine the carnage if they start unravelling the Olympics over the last few years?
  7. There was some shite patter that just made me sigh and clutch the bridge of my nose. The Alex Bruce thing had me visibly furious, though.
  8. I watched Icarus on Netflix the other night. My jaw was practically on the floor by the end of it. What started as a documentary about doping in cycling & biological passports then crossed in to a full blown KGB led conspiracy. Goodness me what a documentary. 8/10
  9. Obviously everyone likes a player coming through the youth ranks. I mean, I love watching Cadden & Campbell rampaging over the top of teams. But I don't think that's everything. You see the attitudes from folk like Bigi & Ciftci with the sizzling hot #content the club is producing on a weekly basis and you can't help but love them. Also I'd agree about Grant Russell. Murrant was necessary and had his role in getting the opinions of fans over, but I think he also had a tendency to try and bring the kind of FOOTYLADBANTZZZZZZ pish that is all over English football up. And, as we know, that flies like a house brick here. The recent stuff that's gone up on the club's social media has been a class apart. Obviously the #Pete6 video was a rampaging success, and I loved it. But even wee things like playing heads up while Bigi discusses the sacrificing of a ram have had me openly howling with laughter.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/43281273 Looks as though Athletics are under the spotlight as well. Will be interesting to see how all this pans out. Froome racing in Ruta del Sol was fucking nonsense. Regardless of Sky's stance on the matter, he should be rested from competition until this concludes. If he escapes a ban we might as well just chuck anti-doping tests because they are seemingly irrelevant.
  11. Stevie Hammell in fucking midfield. Honestly that decision still has me fuming.
  12. I would agree with pretty much all of that. It was clear Robinson wanted to get a proper keeper after some of the absolute trash we've watched. I mean we gave Samson the gloves with the decision seemingly being "well you've been here for a while so have a go". Carson & Kipre got my votes too.
  13. Tbf I reckon he's the best in the team at running in straight lines.
  14. Mario Odyssey has had me spend the whole night sat on the couch with a stupid big grin on my face. Tremendous fun.
  15. On the aforementioned thread about hopes for this season I believe I said to "be less shit". And we have been less shit. I declare this season a success.
  16. Bought the Breath of the Wild DLC. Trials of the Sword is basically Dark Souls with a Zelda skin on. Absolutely hard as nails.
  17. Had a pal round over the weekend and we sat playing Breath of the Wild. He bought a switch yesterday.
  18. Got the fucking Master Sword, lads. Genuinely felt absolutely buzzing when I pulled it out of the stone. [emoji16]
  19. The more you play it, the more you get a hang of what your runes can help you with and how far you can push your stamina.
  20. Sneaking in to the Yiga Clan's hideout damn near had me rage quitting there. Managed to crack it in the end.
  21. Finished my second divine beast on BotW last night. Honestly can't remember many things as satisfying in a game as nailing that perfect dodge/flurry rush combination. I've always been a fan of Zelda games, but this has taken the title and leathered it out the park. It's so far ahead of anything else.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised to see us dig about the free agent market (not Anthony Stokes, though) for a striker. I'd say we have been guilty of playing shitfest football in games which didn't necessarily merit it. It's got us some great results this season, yes. But I think back to the game at Thistle in December where for 45 minutes we were shocking, gifted 3 goals and looked like we could play forever and not score. Then we brought on Tanner, Bigirimana & Maclean and absolutely bossed the second half. Of course, by that point, the game was already away from us. Long story short, I'd like to see us play more creative football. Hopefully we take enough points in February/March to see us safe and actually takes the pressure off us.
  23. Even before that alleged 40% sell on fee, I'd still have been against Carson leaving unless we got a silly offer. He's got 2.5 years left on his deal and is arguably the best player at the club. The number of points we've come away with this season thanks to him has been a massive part of our success so far, and he'll be worth 10-12 points between now & the end of the season if he remains on form. There's virtually zero chance we'd be able to bring in a decent 'keeper at such short notice, which would leave us with a free agent we dig up or Russell Griffiths. Griffiths appears to be good at the crossbar challenge, but shite at saving anything.
