Dunno if I'd get along with SRAM straight away, only having the one lever to control up and down shifting could only lead to confusion and mis-shifting. I'm happy with Shimano, seems a more sensible system.

Well they obviously are all UCI approved before they can be used in competition. But different countries have different sponsors. Same with road cycling teams e.g. Team Sky use Pinarello, Garmin use Cervelo, Europcar use Colnago etc.

This is getting better and better. I keep thinking they've shot their load too early with some of the plot revelations, but they've written this fantastically.

Aye, I think the yellow jersey will get banded about 2 or 3 times in the first 3 days. Will be good to see the final stages of the tour actually being decided by racing against each other rather than a time trial. Should see a few kamikaze attacks rather than Team Sky hauling the peloton along.

I shifted to them when I honestly must have had about 5 punctures in 2 months. There is no better set of tires in the world.

I think he'd probably have beaten Wiggins at the Olympics if he hadn't sustained that injury before the games.

Went out for a leisurely 9 mile spin with my dad there. Not bursting any records, but it was a lovely day for a go on the bike.

On the subject of winter gear, I don't know if anyone on here is familiar with Ozzo clothing. Boiled down, it's great quality cycling gear at great prices. I've 2 pairs of shorts, a pair of windstopper gloves, a jacket, a pair of overshoes and a pair of arm warmers from them so it's safe to say I'm a fan .
