  1. 1. Don't think anyone is doubting one at this point 2. It was probably being queried over the mention of a breakaway NE league with BoD leading the charge. Since BoD could just apply to the Highland League and haven't shown much interest in doing so. 3. Inverness and Lossiemouth have both had Junior sides in the not too distant past. With Nairn still having having there's in St Ninian. Between Lossemouth and Inverness you've also got Forres Thistle, Burghead Thistle and from a Western pov Spey Valley United in the Juniors. I don't think anyone doubts you've got some NCL insider at this point, its just some of the additional stuff seems like opinion. As for the newsbreak over new clubs applying and Alness return, I heard that first on FitbaNorth back in January as there was the whole Scourie/Kinlochbervie discussion.
  2. It's just a suggestion to play in a friendly on the same date that the other 4 teams would be playing out their quarter final ties.
  3. Best bet would be as some sort of pre-season effort. Beith and Pollok could play each other while the replays take place. One off Semis and then the Final. Could maybe try and delay the final until the first round of the 2020-21 edition kicks off. Luckily its just something for the SJFA to worry about.
  4. It would hopefully be good for relations between the SPFL and lower leagues is more SPFL sides joined up to the Lowland Development League. While Edinburgh City are kinda grandfathered in from their time, East Fife seem to have preferred the option over SPFL Reserve League 2. The uncertainty over the SPFL Reserve structure going forward could see some further additions to the set up next year.
  5. Marc-Vivien Foe, Phil O'Donnell and Fabrice Muamba come to mind. One of the things that gets said about COVID19 is that those with have underlying conditions are at greater risk. Not everyone has a diagnosed underlying condition until it causes a problem.
  6. SPFL League One. SPFL League Two will hopefully do the same. That means the SPFL will be looking to finish around the usual time due to the Euros. That shapes some of the non-league calendar as the Lowland and Highland Leagues are going to want to finish before the SPFL in order to have their play-off.
  7. Another domino has fallen with SPFL1 agreeing to a October 17th start date.
  8. I would of figured that, schools are also closed just now which is the main place you would expect them to spread it around. There's also typically a lack of a crowd that goes along with youth football. Whereas semi professional football comes with crowds. Players/staff also have other jobs that would be put on hold if there was ever a football related breakout that lead to people going into quarantine.
  9. 144 (17 Lowland League clubs, 67 WoSFL clubs, 12 SoSFL clubs, 48 EoSFL clubs). Stirling University EoS, Caledonian Braves SoS, Stranraer SoS do not compete in the competition. I've never said scrap the SCC, i've suggested not introducing a WoSFL Cup in 2020-21. minimum 40 games = Auchinleck Talbot with Premier, SCC + Scottish Cup minimum 39 games = other WoSFL Premier + SCC minimum 32 games = Girvan & Glasgow Universty with Conference play, SCC + Scottish Cup minimum 29-31 games = the other WoSFL Conference sides + SCC All of which his likely to be squeezed into a calendar running from October to May for WoSFL Premier sides. Possibly up until Euro 2020. Between the first Saturday of October and up to Euro 2020 there are only 36 Saturdays. Typically the SCC will see two Saturdays set aside without league fixtures scheduled You can just about squeeze everything above in taking into account additional midweek games that are scheduled in advance and for the covering of postponements. The WoSFL also has to consider finishing the Premier in line with the 34 game EoS Premier & 26 game SoSFL for the potential LL pyramid playoff. If a club looks at that kind of schedule and wants to pariticipate in the Junior Cup then that's an individual club choice. They then have to make it round the WoSFL/Pyramid obligations. No different than the Fife Cup. A WoSFL Cup in 2020-21 on the other hand forces everyone into additional games in an already tight schedule.
  10. I mentioned the SCC and holding off on creating any WoSFL Cups in order to prioritise the league campaigns. From what i've seen said the SPFL lower leagues are likely scrapping the Challenge Cup next year. The League Cup has been mentioned as being able to sit out as well. Say everyone in the SPFL competes in the League Cup and it retains its normal format. That's likely to be a 27 game league season, 4 League Cup group games (very rare to see a League One or Two side make the next round), plus a handful of Scottish Cup games at best. 32-34 gme season. That's teams that all have floodlights and are more able to work around postponements. The WoSFL is looking at 30 rounds in the Conferences and 38 in the Premier if they do a double round robin. The SCC is sitting at 144 teams and the potential of a 8 game run in the competition. Glasgow University, Girvan and Auchinleck Talbot also have Scottish Cup participation. A WoSFL Cup takes up 7 Rounds with the potential of a 6-7 game run to the final for two teams guaranteed. To me with the league commitments and SCC commitments adding that WoSFL competition is unnecessary considering the shortened calendar. The Junior Cup only rates a mention because its already downgraded to working around the WoSFL and SCC. So its easier to shuffle around when dates free up from being knocked out the SCC or a league opponent still playing in the SCC postpones a league fixture as examples. Some clubs that retained SJFA membership might not even choose to participate in the 2020-21 Junior Cup due to the congested calendar as it is.
  11. The SPFL lower leagues are looking to do 27 game seasons from October with the Scottish Cup and League Cup. The Conferences in the WoSFL should be able to complete their 30 game season plus SCC, with possible Junior Cup & Scottish Cup for those that compete it in. I would probably hold off in introducing a WoSFL Cup competition to get the leagues done. Especially as the Conferences can run a little longer than the SPFL with no playoffs to factor in. Trickier for the WoSFL "Premier" if they're doing a 38 game season, SCC, possible Junior & Scottish Cups and the need to time the league finish to be in line with the EoS Premier & SoSFL for any potential LL playoff.
  12. "good PR" for deciding joint winners. They didn't know their audience as that caused a lot of the discussion around the decision before the leaked emails came out.
  13. The last couple of actions taken by the people they knew were dealing with a racist incident and backtracking on a decision that required an independent investigation. By most account it seems like Dave McKenna is keeping the clubs fairly well informed of the goings on, so they probably know him a decent amount at this point. Even if that's not good enough for your tiny troll mind.
  14. And unless there's another Andrew Waddell he would of been the original Lowland League Chair until George Fraser was elected to the role. So has previous experience of a start up.
  15. If its meant to be an independent investigation into that decision made by the management committee, then why was the investigation results given to the management committee first? While the likes of Colin Chisholm resigned, surely the majority of the people being investigated are the ones that get first look.
  16. And that's what I was supporting by saying Steadmans - Hall - Administrator.
  17. After the Steadmans there was Dr John Hall, whose main claim to fame was the Dublin & Carlisle franchise attempts during his tenure. Clydebank were in administration at the time of Airdrie United's takeover, so I don't think there really was an owner at that point with the administrator running things.
  18. It was a bit all over the place, which can expect from a Will Ferrell comedy. If you want to talk about slight inaccuracies, it has to take place in an independent Scotland to make sense
  19. I don't think IHS or the EoS have made a proper statement to focus congratulations around. Otherwise i'm sure there would have been more by now. Most of the Bo'ness congrats have followed on from the SFA licencing announcement and statements made by the Lowland League.
  20. They keep things very vague on where it is actually set. The fact that they were so globe trotting and Canada/US have easy cross border relations its not something anyone is likely to pick up. If you want something else to possibly surprise you, the only other fact I have is that Twyla on the show is the real life sister of David and daughter of Mr Rose. Aka the Levy's Eugene (father), Daniel (son/brother) and Sarah (daughter/sister). Trailer Park Boys is Canada's No 1. It's not even up for debate. Much like above I had always assumed by the name that was an American show Something to get around to watching as i've heard good things.
  21. I don't remember any specific references to where its set in the show, but its actually Canadian. So we can all agree on it being Canada's #1 sitcom. Because I can't think of any others
  22. I don't think there's a long term for just the 67 clubs. In the same way there was the 68th applicant that tried and failed, there's likely to be the odd St Cadoc's and Drumchapel United to come. Then there's promotion and relegation implications that could see the WoSFL change over time. The only thoughts are likely to be on getting a shape in place for 2021-22. That would be easier to do top down since they'd definitely know they'd have the numbers for it.
  23. Current Format would mean: Second Round = 32 teams = 10x SPFL2, 2x HFL, 2x LL + 18 First Round Winners First Round = 36 teams = 15x HL, 15x LL + 6 preliminaries Preliminaries = 30 teams = 20x EoSFL, 4x SoSFL, 4x Others, Auchinleck Talbot (West Premiership winner), Musselburgh Athletic (S&E Cup Winners' Shield) So even with lack of qualifiers there would have to be a restructuring. I don't think the Highland League declared positions other than their champions, and not sure if the LL did the same. So they could always just restrict the Second Round byes to the champions. But the more pressing concern is likely to be fitting it into the calendar over retaining the current format. Both prelims last season were played in August and the First Round in September. Hopefully that will mean a more significant streamlining.
  24. Hopefully some people have actually followed up on these allegations with the police. Both on the victims side and the police becoming aware from social media if they hadn't been contacted. When it comes to training i've seen people say that trainers should be in the PVG scheme. PVG doesn't need convictions to rule out people from working with children or vulnerable groups, but there does need to be some level of investigation (police, social services etc) that would be vetted against and determined if that information would be disclosable for the job role. Its also going to help keep these predators from working in other areas outside the wrestling business. Its one thing blackballing *insert gimmick name here* from wrestling and them going off to work with kids in another environment under their real name for instance.
  25. Nairn County 'A' have just been accepted into the North Caledonian League. That makes them the fourth club to have a reserve/colt/B team in the senior leagues with Stranraer (SPFL & SOSFL), Caledonian Braves (Lowland & SoSFL), and Stirling University (Lowland & EoSFL) already in place. I was just wondering if a player can switch between the first team and reserve sides whenever they want? Or if it is explicitly ruled out since they would be considered transfers from one team to another. With development loans being able to play for their club's colt side in the SPFL Challenge Cup, that had me wondering how it was applied within a league structure. Thanks!
