Not being au fait with the bigotry involved in all this, I have a genuine question which was going to ask and stopped myself before but given the post two above, what is the thinking behind calling teams St. something? If it's going to cause bother then we can leave it.
As pointed out for St Pat's its Former Pupils/School tradition seen quite often in amateurs, taken the name from 'Our Lady & St Patrick's High School' in this instance. You've got Dumbarton Academy FP in the town as well. Think it's how Campbeltown also got their name.

I thought that any departure from a Saturday had to be agreed by the opponent or it reverts to 3pm Saturday if no agreement ?
You would have to ask the Lowland board. As we know they have been quite accomodating in exchange for the B team cash.
I'm sure they will point to the likes of Edinburgh City recently & "it's only 1 year" to help justify it.

July 22nd correct.
Just waiting on fixtures.
League Cup dates confirmed for those lucky enough (or quoted) to be in it.
Just waiting on league fixtures and Scottish Cup starter dates and we're off.
Fixtures won't be out until after the SPFL have their's done, due to the number of groundshares involved.

This might sound a bit out there but we should have a youth development pool for each division set at the start of the season. At the end of the season, clubs get a cut of that pool, depending on how many times a player 21 or under started a league game for them.
East Fife would be lighting cigars with burning 50 notes right now if we'd had that last season.
Wasn't this very briefly a thing? As a trial or maybe it was just a proposal. Where Scottish eligible u21s were paid per appearance by the SFA?

Not on on-field merit. W&B lost 12-0 and St Cuthberts lost 9-0 in the prelim round last year. Hence, cannon fodder.

Because they don't get horsed every year.

best thing for them is to draw each other early doors, otherwise like you say they will mostly struggle against teams from other leagues
There's a decent mix of lower division EoSFL & WoSFL clubs that I doubt will fill them with fear. NCL as well, the only concern there would be getting drawn away from home.

Anyone know if Forbidden Door will be solely on Fite? Or will it be available on NJPW World as well?
It might be a co-promotion, but it's an AEW production.
If I remember right NJPW don't even stream their own US shows on NJPW World now, with the shows being put on NJPW World broken up into NJ Strong episodes.

Sometimes being a community club means looking beyond the 1st team. Otherwise there wouldn't be the growing number of affiliated women's & over 35s and other teams.

I understand that 16/18 team leagues give you more variety of opponent and it's quite a popular idea. But they would be dull as anything imo. Especially if here was only one team going down and one playoff spot. You'd have a lot of clubs with absolutely nothing to play for; and nothing turns fans off more than having nothing to play for.
Over the last decade ago Sons have almost always had a chance of a promotion battle or been in a relegation fight. And I'd far rather that than consistently finishing 8th-12th in an 18 team division. For example.
Since most people aren't psychic when do you think the nothing to play for/meaningless games kick in?

6 month until they think we've forgotten about B teams and the next attempt to get them up and running is on the go.
It's been an annual event since the SPFL was being formed, and they offered to turn 12-12-18 to 12-12-10-10. B teams just need chased out the Lowland League as they've never even come close to the SPFL.
The Conference League concept made it clear they're well aware of that.

They might just f off this season coming
Something I could maybe see Hearts doing at a push. Save some cash. Reserve league and loans probably doing the same job. If they've already sunk money into the Lowland and a new ground rental probably not.

I know I've said earlier that relegating teams outside of the relegation places would be unfair, however on the other side surely it's better to have the higher tiers (lowland/Highland) with a even number of teams by promoting the highest place sfa liscensed team in the league below where possible to avoid it.
The system in place, and would be replicated by HL/LL champions promoted with 2 down. Would still see the Lowland League at 16 (Ignoring B teams).
The Highland maxes out at 20. Currently 18. Will probably settle on a fixed even number once more teams in Tier 6 become licenced.

That's already the case.
Exactly the same.
Right now both Highland and Lowland have to account for a +1 gain or -1 loss from the SPFL2 Play-off.
This situation with both Highland and Lowland champions promoted, they're left dealing with a potential +1 gain or -1 loss .

I didn't say there weren't some decent teams. There are.
It's just a horribly unappealing league which is why people are so terrified of ending up in it.
If I could choose how reconstruction works, I'd have the current 10 team, L1/L2 structure playoffs structure going down to about tier 8. No regionalisation.
I've seen some plenty of reconstruction ideas before but 12-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 is horrifying.

Glasgow Wellington aren't going away just yet apparently. Planning to take the year and re-apply for next season. Could maybe take that time and get sorted for the WoSFL, but nah!

I wrote about this on the Dumbarton thread in the League 2 forum but if relations between BSC Glasgow/Broomhill and Maryhill were poor, why were both parties in discussion over a return to Lochburn Park last summer? George Fraser was interviewed on the first episode of the Open Goal Broomhill documentary where he discussed the genesis of the club and its nomadic existence. Fraser said the club held talks with Maryhill about a possible return until Simon Ferry nixed the proposal, saying the surface wasn't conducive to how he wanted to play football.
How much of that was Broomhill by themselves, and how much of that was Open Goal with Broomhill tacked on? Bit of a difference. Just as it must have been Open Goal being the money behind Broadwood.

Was there any bother between BSC Glasgow and Alloa Athletic when they shared Recreation Park?
It should be said never heard about any problems there. Still have a gambler's heart leaving the relative stability of that agreement for the podcast & Broadwood. While they might talk about building roots, if there's been the sniff of a better opportunity they'd rather take their chances on that instead.

That was my thought, anything like this needs confirmed at AGM (or EGM), so in theory at least B teams could still be kicked-out by the LL.
Usually have the LL AGM before the SFA one though unfortunately. Until the Conference League is voted down. I don't see enough will to kick them out.

Technically the SPFL do buy it, since it's how they picked the teams for the SPFL Trust Trophy.
