  1. Surely someone at Tannadice should have made SPFL aware before the start of the season that they had an important date in their history instead of leaving it to about a month or so before the date in question.
  2. Heard that Draper just wants to play and by the sound of things he played well on Saturday. Also that Charlesworth is happy to be a number 2 and that someone from Dundee (club?, city?) is interested in the manager's job.
  3. Missed the game yesterday due to another commitment, but seeing as we we got humped 4-0 by EF a month or so ago, I'm happy with a point and we moved up in the league.
  4. I agree with other Elgin comments about our lack of threat up front. Harvey was causing problems and Barron put in a shift. In midfield, McInnes was poor with his passing, Rory started off poorly but got into the game and Dingwall had one of his better games. Our defence was solid enough and coped with most things. Forfar were the better team in the first 20 min or so and it was pretty even until the last 20 min when Elgin were the better team.
  5. Thought tonight's game was pretty good with a draw a fair result. Elgin didn't put out their strongest team and Hoban was definitely our MotM. McInnes was our only poor player.
  6. Ultimately the better team won, although their goal came from Elgin giving the ball away near the halfway line and the scorer being in the right place to head the ball in after McHale's save. Elgin played well but I don't think the Stranraer keeper had a direct shot to save. There were no poor players and I agree with 1993 about them needing to gel. Still don't think we'll be bottom.
  7. I already said elsewhere that City play like they did against Motherwell, they won't be bottom. Heard that they played well in the win against St Johnstone B. Home win.
  8. Hearing Elgin's signed Ben Barron from Forres. Looked decent when when he played and scored against Elgin in first pre-season game.
  9. As I said previously, Dolzanski will be a starter, when fit. Cooney could also play there.
  10. Our best players against QotS imo were Hoban, Cairns and MacEwan. Please, please, please, can the management team tell Draper to drop himself. He's been dire so far and has been knocked to the ground more times yesterday than all his other games combined. Our passing to and fro between defence and keeper is going to cost us dear.
  11. Maybe it's an Old Firm thing seeing as they seem permamently using lawyers to deal with their run-ins with UEFA/SPFL/SFA with regards to their fans' behaviour.
  12. Hopefully when Dolzanski is fit, he and MacKenzie will be our starting central defence, unfortunately he seems injury prone. Don't know if Cooney is still on our radar.
  13. Have to say that I was encouraged performance against Motherwell. Cairns deserved his MotM, but Draper was dire. If we fight like this in every game, we won't be the bottom team.
  14. It's a striker we're really needing to sign. Hopefully Draper has at least one lined up.
  15. Elgin released the same kit a couple of years ago for their 125th anniversary but never played in it IIRC. Also made by Joma and also a cracking looking top.
  16. Cooney's time was cut short. Not sure if Cooper was injured at the start of the 21-22 season which gave Cooney game time.
  17. Former City loanee Nathan Cooney played most of last night's friendly. Won HL with Brechin last season, would be a decent signing.
  18. Has anyone else noticed that on Elgin's website, the homepage shows our 2-0 win against Forfar, not even our last win or last game. If you click on the men's and women's team headings, they both have a photo of the 2018/19 team.
  19. Have the SFA grown a pair and taken away their stars?
  20. Nice wording, he's one of the players up for the betting when he was at Elgin. Agree about taking him tho but his injuries would be an issue.
  21. Says the fan of one half of the duopoly that's won the top league for over 30 years. I'm sure every match day, your conversation will consist of "I wonder how much we'll win by today", where as for me, at least, and most fans at this level, it's " I hope we win."
  22. Like Elgin City this season. Won't deny tears flowed when Draper's 94th minute winner went in and I still couldn't talk when my wife phoned me to pick me up.
  23. Absolutely loved 'Robinson Crusoe' and 'The Flashing Blade' every summer holidays (it seemed so) in the 70s.
