  1. He didn't say he wasn't interested. He said he wasn't any more interested in him than any other player who is injured. And we do have far bigger worries than a guy who played about 180 mins for us. Read the fucking post before exploding with more of your self-righteous pish.
  2. Scotland v West Germany, 16 April 1969 - 11v11 match report 96 000 at the game - look at that set of players. Germans were WC semi finalists in Mexico 12 months later.
  3. Yes - Germany game was my first Scotland game... very late equaliser at a monstrously busy Hampden
  4. Scotland 1-1 W Germany 1969 ish Scotland 2-1 Czechoslovakia 1973 England 1-2 Scotland 1977 Scotland 2-1 Sweden 1990 Genoa PS read the questions as favourite game you were at...
  5. It is common knowledge that it has been announced that there is a chunk of budget. Lets wait and see if any more budget is used in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully it is to the fullest advantage.
  6. Perhaps it is because there is no budget to do otherwise? I don't know that, I have no insight, but that can surely be the only explanation. Unless someone else can think of an alternative reason?
  7. I think the club was stabilised in the 5 years after Mr Carmichael left us with a huge debt. Everything after that has been a result of our own decision -making and relationship management.
  8. Do not be obtuse. The penny dropped many years ago. The alternative is still not clear to me, and you have failed to make it so.
  9. Clyde’s nightmare start to the season continued as they were dumped out the SPFL Trust Trophy by the University of Stirling this evening. At least it is a step up in awareness from 'Clyde suffered a disappointing home defeat to.......'
  10. Well I look forward to the spectator sport that is the EFFECTIVE running of Clyde FC.
  11. Look forward a few weeks. We have lost several more games. The majority of the Board resigns under pressure. One or two individuals (who post on here I assume) step up as replacements and ask for volunteers to take a role on the Board. Anyone with relevant experience & skills, or just someone who wants the club to prosper, looks on here at how your efforts & attempts to help will get ridiculed and torn apart at some point in the near future should all not go well and quickly think better of it. You would need to be either mad or completely indifferent to public opinion....
  12. I don't get this. Irrespective of my opinion on the decline of the club, and my absence from games would reflect that position, I cannot understand how asking for some information on what/who you want to replace the current set up with is an avoidance strategy? Surely complaining a lot, demanding change, but not providing an alternative is an avoidance strategy? If the answer to that is no, and change with no firm plan is OK, then I truly give up.
  13. Who is going to remove them? What is the Governance route for doing so? Is there 6/7/8 people with the right experience and skill-set looking for the opportunity to step up? Can they all commit 20-30 hours a week to run the club effectively for no pay or expenses? When these can be answered , along with the other questions above, then you have the start of a meaningful conversation...
  14. So you want people to support your position regarding removing key people, but can't offer up any names, strategies, plans or detail behind what would be in place should that happen. I'm in.....
  15. I will give it one more try then to your point above about who? Who is waiting to run the club should all of them resign tomorrow on the back of the past couple of year's performances and decision-making? Name names, otherwise it is just empty criticism. Also - let us, the rest of the fan base know what skills and experience these replacement Board members would have that would result in an improvement in fortunes. You can't simply post three times a day repeating criticism without ever putting forward an alternative plan worth discussing.
  16. Not sure how you did that, but that is not my post you have quoted....
  17. This will probably be an ongoing issue, and has been several times in the past. Fans want a good quality, well designed kit. Bigger, multi-national sports brands are more likely to offer that. However, clubs like Clyde will always be at the coo's tail when manufacturing/ production and shipping is being organised. Results are frequently delays, compromise on design, time spent chasing things up, contractual disputes etc. There is a case for going more local if it is available, but that sometimes brings its own issues.
  18. This. Promotion (I know...) and they can wear bright orange bibs on skin for all i care.
  19. Well you can interpret that like that if you like. Firstly, I didn't say I understood it all, and in fact don't. What I do appreciate is that a corporate deal like this attracting funding from abroad potentially linked to a public sector property deal will be complex. Carry on looking for opportunities to pick at threads though....
  20. My thoughts on this for what it is worth. Lets assume for a minute that it is genuine and also likely to stand the test of time. 1. If I were an investor one of the things that would potentially put me off would be a club with people all pulling in different directions. If it becomes clear there are factions, disagreements, other groups waiting for it to fail etc. then frankly I would think twice about it. 2. To that end I would think that a united front with one club, one direction and one aim be the order of the day 3. There is a long way to travel between an agreement in principle and a sustained funding model that brings benefits. People may need to be patient and also realise they're not going to be told everything. It simply does not work like that. If you want to know it all then join the Board. 4. Crownpoint may well be an important element in all of this. 5. If it all does get going, then people who want to do their bit should stick to what they are good at, and contribute in that way. That can be volunteering, fund-raising, working for the club, joining the Board or just buying season tickets etc. What they should not do is get involved where they have no experience and should not be working to alternative agendas. 6. If the Board do not make this a success, then and only then, an alternative plan can be brought forward in the proper manner. This is all much harder than 99% of people appreciate.
  21. 24 hours to first league game and NOTHING on the website about the game, the players, the arrangements...............just nothing. Probably what we will get from the game!
  22. Spartans getting into the league has really got this thread buzzing.
