  1. 6/10. Only knew Goodluck Jonathan, Daft Punk lyrics, board game and Lucky Strike so I'll take it. Fast forwarding through TV ads has cost me again.
  2. 6/10 today. Knew Farad, Gil Scott-Heron, Churchill, UNESCO and was hopeful on the London market. Although a Brian Eno fan, didn't know the Music for Airports question, but went with what I thought was the likeliest answer. Didn't have a clue about the rest.
  3. Tough set. 6/10. Only knew Death, Albania, Das Kapital and Smurfs. Had a feeling about the footballer and guessed underground.
  4. Back to Earth with a bump after a good week. 4, all guesses. A couple of educated guesses but knew none of them for sure. Readers invariably make the mistake of pegging the difficulty level off the scale. Making the questions harder and more obscure doesn't make them better. An average of 3 for a 10 question quiz with 4 options per question is about what you'd expect if everyone was randomly guessing every question.
  5. A guess-tastic 9 today. Only really knew 6 with a couples of 50/50s (Booker and Arbus) and one outright guess (Stalin). Tripped up on Samsung Galaxy S, whatever that is.
  6. Gone Girl was for the most part excellent, even if it became a bit Basic Instinct towards the end. 8.5/10. Maps to the Stars. Normally love Cronenberg, didn't love this movie. Populated exclusively by repellant characters, the movie doesn't engage sympathy or empathy at any point, which I guess was deliberate. Like watching bugs crawling about under a rock for a couple of hours. 6/10.
  7. Gibraltar might have a chance against George. Depending on which George it is of course. Osbourne would be fine, Galloway rather less so.
  8. 6. Tough set today. Was confident on 4. Guessed Prussia's capital and colonel. Got Marquess, martini, literary device and 25/48/53 wrong.
