  1. That was poor, very poor. Nothing today would lead anyone to say that McLean can put a team on the park. Midfield is all over the place, absolutely no way that Whyte and Carswell can play together in middle of the park. Apart from the fact Whyte is certainly not a midfield player. McCulloch also a problem, just far too inconsistent for while 90 mins especially with Leslie in front of him, made whole right side a problem especially in first half. Finally up front we offered nothing today. Rennie is useless, unless perhaps as as a penalty box player which we don’t create anywhere nearly enough opportunities for that and therefore toffers nothing else and we can now see today why Young is with us in L2 and not higher level despite his so called pedigree looked pretty poor today. Been patient with McLean but I’m afraid time is up.
  2. I think they upped their price a fair bit at last minute and also asked for sell on fee.
  3. You are definitely right in terms of the level of player, as I said I’m not that bothered if he comes or not was just making the point of writing folk off due to age. As you say if we use the budget better at this stage then obviously we should. Not a lot of options around at the moment I’d think though.
  4. Not sure if I quite agree, he is a natural goal scorer and if you consider the job the likes of McSwegan or Andy Smith did for us it might not be a bad shout. Given Rennie is never far from an injury or at best unlikely to complete 90 mins then someone like him for last 30 mins might be worth being part of the squad. Having said that if we don’t or not even tried to get him I’m not upset about that either, I do agree I’d rather have a midfielder or a CH if it’s down to choice.
  5. Cruised first half.. as often happens 2-0 early can be dangerous when we don’t get a third. The OG obviously gave Elgin a chink of light and we understandably given we haven’t won in weeks got nervous and tbh key players tired. Carswell beside King was excellent but probably doesn’t have 90 mins in him now which is a problem for us. A proper younger CM would make all the difference. Overall will take that 3 points every day. Two CH were great today as was Lyon actually and Keeper too. Two great goals we scored. As I say I won’t be to hard on the side for last half hours performance, I’m sure nerves and Carswell and Rennie not finishing the game was significant.
  6. Oh remember it well. My two are in their 20’s now and are are depressed and cynical as their Dad about the Clyde. Enjoy it while you can, while it lasts
  7. The offer of a contract at the time we had little cash was a ridiculous decision. Everyone knew he’d miss just about as many games than he’d play so as a value for money it was stupid. Like most fans, I like Barry given that he always gives his best but in reality he has not been particularly good in 3 seasons, whether that’s down to his consistent injury issues I don’t know. Said before I think he’s much more effective as a full back than in midfield where he is severely limited.
  8. I get some of our fans frustration regarding Gunn and lack of experience etc, but this window will not provide what we are looking for in terms of a Rankin for example. Not seen him obviously, but I’d much rather have the likes of Gunn than some of the “experienced” jobbers like Sean Higgins or Robert Jones around the club. I think it’s a start of a longer term plan and let’s see where we are between now and January before we spit the dummy out entirely. With the returning injuries now and likes of Ray Grant in a few weeks we are in a much better place than a month ago. Yes I’d love an additional striker, but those are not easy to come by, however we are where we are just now, I think it’s baby steps in our recovery to be honest.
  9. Although only 19, has 50 first team games. Certainly rather that than someone of similar age from some mobs B team.
  10. If this is not a wind-up our support will go mental. unless it’s as a coach then the board will board some explaining to do!
  11. We quite often have them training before they sign so hopefully That’s happening. I don’t know but maybe waiting a week or so to save a few quid on wages. Considering we are apparently paying good money for them.
  12. Boy coming in next week is for Championship side it seems
  13. At least the Board have now given an internal statement to the owners on the official forum ( if anyone hasn’t seen it yet) clarifying and correcting some of the factually wrong points raised by the ‘challenging’ group. All very messy and sad as the damage done already I don’t think we will recover from.
  14. 100% correct, I really hope this is not the actual nail in our coffin. I repeat could they not have held fire for a little longer especially since Duffy was booted?
  15. So is that an issue for you? I don’t think I’d be too happy about that. Suppose these processes always cause internal problems more far reaching than the initial intention.
  16. Exactly. As I said earlier if the group have something to bring to the table then brilliant, but internal power struggle will kill the bid I think. Better to wait just a little while. Window closes in week so nobody coming in will improve the team on the part till January in any case. (Although I pray we get some bodies in next week).
  17. Quite soon, In next few weeks according to Owners Question/ Answer forum. Short update yesterday morning
  18. So it seems there is indeed a live attempt to replace the board and while I understand why there may be a drive for this, it does raise alarm bells for me. I may be way off the mark here but can anyone involved give any assurance that they will have a relationship with the recent benefactor and that he will work with the potential new people or walk away in support of the existing board who he has been negotiating with. Also concern that at a critical time in the Crownpoint bid, do the proposed new group have the current knowledge to continue negotiating with present partners and supporters of our bid, given what seem they have created good rapport with many involved, do they have the expertise to move if successful, to implement the business plan and the necessary construction business case to progress? It’s a huge undertaking. I have No association with current nor the “new group” but as I say I am worried about the timing, personally I think now Duffy is gone there should be a period of reflection at least until the Crownpoint bid is decided as I fear any further disruption will have a catastrophic effect on that. I’m sure many may feel that such a change is required and that’s their view, frustrated as we all are, I simply think it’s not the time… even a 3 month cooling off period may be prudent. I will look out my tin hat now for any reply. As I say I am like most on here just a long time supporter and owner.
  19. Be at least 3 or 4 nil to Peterhead this one. Hopefully get this game out the way then look to actually moving forward now that charlatan Duffy is away. Might actually have some home fans at the game now too. Would have been empty if he was still at the club. Nevertheless going to be a long afternoon for us.
  20. Out of interest can any of the brave souls who went to Livi game think he was any more animated in that game when Duffy wasn’t there?
  21. Dreaded vote of confidence eh? Writing on the wall thankfully
