  1. Probably most clubs could manage to pull the “rehab, he’s served his ‘sentence’ card” we can’t. Media would be all over this. We need to be squeaky clean for next few years.
  2. Absolutely no way we can sign him, as you say the publicity would finally kill us. Even having him as a trialists seems a huge risk on all sorts of levels!
  3. Posted missing on 90% of games played for us. Imposter during his time simple as that. May well do ok elsewhere but Clyde fans will know he contributed very little along with the others during last 3 years. Either injured or hiding was his contribution
  4. Let’s be honest it’s highly unlikely that anyone pitching for a trial with us at this stage of the season will be known faces.
  5. Aye be nice to know if any of them have actually ever kicked a baw before today!
  6. Impossible to get excited about this season at the moment given the underwhelming signings. Absolutely no creativity within the squad which is criminal. Rubbish as we were last 2 years in particular we did at least have players like Splain, Salkeld and Roberts. Who tried to be positive and as creative as they were able. Unless by some miracle Duffy actually gets off his backside and tries to sign someone out-with his own limited sphere of players this season is head for a total bore fest at best. As I’ve said before I think Duffy is lazy which is evident from his signing policy so far. I’ll be delighted to be proven wrong but I doubt it.
  7. Won’t last he is a coward, in real games you won’t even notice he is playing
  8. Really frightening starting 11 that and I don’t mean ina hood way obviously. Even More concerning is the fact that the opportunity was there to clear some of the players who patently not good enough or finished… Parry, P Grant, Cameron in particular. As I said previously I would have liked a small squad with quality rather than just filling the side out. Getting points on the board early is vital. I realise it’s not as easy as we fans probably think to attract players to a club like ours at the moment but I do get a sense that Duffy has been a bit lazy here.. currrent players and ones he knows the only one he seems to be signing. I repeat the signing of Parry and Grant baffle me.
  9. Suppose I meant quality in relative terms to what we have recently. I agree hard to come by and will be very lucky to get anything close to what we require. As for goals from elsewhere throughout the team, what we have at present are a mile off that. At least in terms of being close to winning the league.
  10. 100% agree squad to date is bang average. Given it’s L2 those players will cope slightly better and will draw certainly and even win more that they will lose unless out next 3/4 signings are infinitely better. No chance we will win league with present squad. Craig certainly improved second half of the season and again last month or so and at 19 I’m ok with his signing. Keeper I know nothing about but I assume he can actually touch his toes so has to be improvement on Parry. Desperately need quality in midfield and obviously a proper striker or preferably 2 of each. Not confident that will happen I’m afraid.
  11. Let’s hope so as Parry is so finished it’s unbelievable. I’m still shocked he has re-signed.
  12. He was totally unimpressive when he returned after his surgery, perhaps understandable, but in all honesty I expected much much more from him. I’d say in fact he looked really poor and contributed nothing. I may be harsh on him considering he was out for so long but I actually would have been annoyed if the club had offered a really good offer to stay, didn’t look worth it at all.
  13. I’m absolutely amazed and delighted with that one. Well done whoever brokered that one. off on holiday in an hour, that news has set me up nicely. Extra wee pint at the airport I think
  14. Don’t disagree but if we had signed him too a lot of the support would have given the Club stick for signing another Duffy / Dumbarton player.
  15. I got the impression it was more a dig at Lennon. Also alluded to Danny prepared reports on opposing teams really well but over complicated what he asked players to do to combat the opposition. I’d agree with that as Lennon changed team and game plan every week. I also got impression last night that McLean was far from impressed with last years squad mentality and attitude. Vague reference to poor changing room.
  16. So can we take it Scullion and Duthie have knocked back deals? Duthie.. Dylan Easton number 2!
  17. I only hope that these signings are first to be announced as it’s re-signed players and that they are MINIMUM standard we are getting. That said fecken Parry! Abysmal, unless he comes back pre season 3 stone lighter and with a better attitude. And is only no 2!
  18. Not exactly he said and Chairman s also that he was recommending players to Duffy. At lest 6 trialists are pitching up first day training
  19. Agreed and actually quite impressed with McLean, seems genuinely happy to be here and motivated to do well. Certainly came across as a positive guy and seems all about players with attitude, commitment and desire to win games of football. Looks like he wants fitness levels to be at optimal levels. Which was sadly lacking last year in particular
  20. I very much doubt the Community will get anywhere near a stadium at Barrowfield, it’s been there for decades and no one gets a sniff of it. If they build a new facility it will no doubt be a grass park which they will protect for the woman team(s) and the so so vitally important B team.
  21. Whilst not surprised at the appointment I’ll wait to see how it pans out. I am also willing to give him a chance. In all honesty who could we have expected? We are skint and now in L2, homeless and hardly an attractive proposition. We've been down every road possible in trying to get successful manager in: Big name; Ferguson… Failure Bomber…. Failure Henry…Failure Tried Experience: Lennon..Ultimately Failure Chapman : Failure So hopefully McLean will be more like our previous inexperienced and not big name, like Maitland or Kernaghan. Even McGovern and Peaso did their job and kept us from oblivion. I also hope those who are not renewing season ticket (while I understand the frustration) reconsider. This is a hugely precarious position we find ourselves in and we need every penny to try to get a better player in. Every season ticket will be vital..just my opinion obviously.
  22. Potentially very decent keeper. Although when he arrived he had some games but looked pretty dodgy, then had bad hamstring injury and was out for weeks. However…. On his return he looked different keeper, very confident, mobile (although in comparison to Parry that’s wasn’t hard) and played very well. He was one of only 2-3 players our supporters would have wanted to stay after this seasons car crash.
