  1. One of Rice's many failings. Kev should be one of the first names on the team sheet, and even when he did play him it was out of position. Such a clever player, still the best attacking midfielder at the club and an absolute legend.
  2. An excellent three points and added to last weeks point against Hamilton, a very good 7 days. Two big games coming up for the fight for 4th place. Well done to Big Andy and the team.
  3. That is embarrassing, stupid little idiots. Quite why they would attack a Hamilton supporters bus is beyond me and from decent Alloa fans you have our apologies. Since COVID, every team seems to have them unfortunately and the lack of police action makes them think they can do what they want. If the police don't start taking action against these idiots it is only going to get worse. Things like this become tit for tat, which does nobody any good.
  4. Quite happy with that draw and a ground I haven't been to in more than 25 years. Agree we probably have an outside chance of pulling off an upset, although need to play far better than we did on Saturday. Realise we had injuries but if Dunbar had taken their guilt edged chances we could easily have followed East Fife out of the cup. Great to see Kevin Cawley back in the team and although he probably lacked match sharpness for me alongside Scougall, they are our best midfielders and would start them both before Roberts, who has great energy but his passing and decision making is really poor. Hopefully by the time that the Motherwell game comes we will have some better defensive options as with the exception of Taggart and Devine, the rest have been very inconsistent/poor.
  5. Oh dear, oh dear, not the start we were looking for from the Andy Graham tenure. Andy is the best defender I have ever seen at Alloa and hopefully in January he brings in players to enhance the defence. The last two weeks have been a big improvement but that has brought us back down to earth. Probably never wanted a manager to succeed as much as I do with Andy but he has a tough job and has been left some very poor players by Brian Rice.
  6. Not sad to see him go to be honest. For all Saturday was a very good performance, this season has been an absolute car crash. The timing is decent as well, a good manager has 7 weeks to assess the squad and then hopefully strengthen the defence especially in January.
  7. Really enjoyed the game last week, the most I have for a long time. We need to build on a good performance and excellent result by going on a good run, something we have failed to do all season.
  8. Think that was last chance saloon for me, with Rice and he came out of it with all guns blazing. If you are under pressure, that is the game to win and well done to the manager and team for probably our best performance of the season. Some really good performances for me Buchanan, Devine, Roberts, Roy and Coulson were all excellent. Well done Alloa for bouncing back from last week's debacle to put Stirling firmly in their place.
  9. I think Roberts has been bang average, which I suppose is better than the majority of Rice's summer signings. He has good energy and makes some half decent runs, but his passing is poor. Still Saturday would be just the time to go on a lung bursting run and put it in the top corner. Win or go Rice, win or go.
  10. Can't talk for others but luckily I had COVID or would have been there. Look it is no shock to anybody that we don't have a big support, and the way this season has been going it has been dropping to even lower levels home and away No wonder people like to see Falkirk fall flat on their face. You have a good team who by all accounts smashed us, but still manage to get in a jibe about inferior supports to the mighty Bairns.
  11. Another performance and heavy defeat like that next week against Stirling, and the board will be in no doubt what the fans think of Rice.
  12. What a half time team talk, absolutely brilliant from the gaffer. Fair play to Falkirk you have an excellent team, with a really good manager at this level.
  13. Absolutely embarrassing result and performance. Falkirk are a much improved team this season but 3-0 down and 15-0 on shots is criminal. We at least need to be competitive and Rice is taking us backwards, enough is enough, time to walk Rice.
  14. With Kev, Morrison, O'Donnell, Donnelly and Scougall to come back into the team, there is a good squad there that I am sure a better manager would have higher up the league. It does look like the forward line has been improved but unfortunately the defence is shambolic and this should have been addressed by now. With the exception of Graham and Taggart, Rice signed the defenders and keepers so needs to take the blame for our overall defensive inadequacies.
  15. Wasn't there today and sounds like we played much better, especially in the first half. Ally Roy has done well in his first two games and seems to be a decent signing. However IMO Rice should walk, the improvements last week were distorted by how bad Edinburgh City are, losing 4-1 at home to Kelty emphasising that. No wins in 4, 3 wins in 13 competitive games this season, not good enough.
  16. That was yet another really poor result in a very disappointing season. We played some decent football at times and thought Taggart, Roberts and Roy all had good games. Certainly better to watch than it has been, but we have to be beating Edinburgh City at home.
  17. Just for the record I wouldn't have kept Rodden either, but his goals to minutes ratio this season has been decent and he deserves a place on the bench, and to be coming on in front of the likes of Cannon.
  18. Very bizarre loan signing in Roy, hasn't been prolific anywhere, if he was any good surely East Kilbride would have kept him. If he has been signed to play the Willie Irvine role then I feel for the likes of Kevin Cawley who would be excellent in that position. Also means Rodden who scored 3 in 4 games will probably be dropping down the order. Let's see what he is like but not holding out much hope.
  19. I just can't see this being true and if it is very worrying indeed. Tried to find him in the Lowland League top scorers and he is way down the list with two goals. The legend that is Liam Buchanan has eight. Maybe we will loan Ben Armour from Stranraer as well to create a dynamic duo.
  20. All about opinions, I thought I was being quite positive as well Sure whether we lose on Saturday or not he will still be the manager but think questions on his ability are 100% valid. There have been a lot of very poor performances this season but I quite liked his war speech after the Falkirk game and our recent performance against the best team in the league. I for one hope we perform on Saturday and win, ideally emphatically playing with style.
  21. It's hard to know what to think at the moment. An away point at Annan, on the back of a Cove win, and good performance at Hamilton last week should be positive. As others have said next Saturday is a must win, if we were to lose or draw that game, justifiably there would be questions asked about Brian Rice's future and managerial abilities, from a signing, tactical and motivational point of view. That said I thought we played well at Hamilton last week and keeping the faith at the moment, however 90 minutes next Saturday might test or shatter that.
  22. I thought we played fairly well today and Debayo and O'Donnell were our best players. After a poor start came more and more into the game, especially after our equaliser. We need to build on this and get something from Annan or the pressure is right back on Rice.
  23. The thought of going back to Hamilton so soon after the play off horror show fills me full of dread. Not confident at all, especially given Hamilton's fire power and our less than solid looking defence, could be another mauling. We were better against Cove but will need to move up a few more levels to get anything from this.
