Why are you trying to be a smartarse, do you get off on it?

Did you really need to ask what work had been done, pretty obvious

I asked a civil question already, you already made a statement that I was involved with Health and safety which is a lie

    Look up sarcasm

You got an answer, look at the ground you visited and tell me if it looks like substantial work has taken place.

Regarding the Increase, had there been any substantial work been done to Newlandsfield in-between for the capacity of 900 to increase quite significantly to 2088 or did Glasgow City Council apologies knowing they were wrong originally to give Pollok FC a limit of 900

You were there 3 or 4 weeks ago and played at Newlandsfield, what changes did you notice?

Pollok used to have two food snacks, one which still continues and one which was brought in self employed and think Pollok decided to move them out due to none benefit to Pollok FC as far as I'm lead to believe.

For someone who goes to games, you must have missed the two big toilet blocks.

Id pretty much imagine that Pollok will have a safety plan that covers any potential crush scenario will allow for supporters to in an emergency go onto the park and that they will be operating safely in terms of what they do with their gates also. Even major grounds have their gates shut over during play etc and are opened at the direction of the safety officers/event policing leads. Its no where near the big deal being made out here. As much as we all have our clubs we like/dislike lok is a well run club and ive never seen nor heard of a single safety issue at any of their games and i say that as someone who had worked in that area for a number of years and would have had to attend such incidents.

Best to check with the guy who played against us a few times as rather than focusing on the game playing football allows you to be a stadium safety expert. Who would have known that’s covered on Tuesday and Thursday’s when players train.

No the officials said it was voted on by the committee for the Benburb Scottish cup game, other games I haven't a clue about.

In has been in place at every game this season and has been announced before the start of every game.

Anyway, positive news today despite your attempt to create something out of nothing. And questioning how many could be allowed in.

if you were at the Bens game as you said, you could easily see Newlandfield could hold double that at least as it was empty.

That was an absolute freak match that I've not seen the likes of before or since.

We still went and beat Hamilton Accies, won two cups and should have won the league and got ourselves promoted that season but ran out of steam in the last quarter.

I think we had a fantastic side before COVID. Some of the key players were of an age where such a long lay off more or less ended them at the level they had been at (Pewee, Whitey, Pope, Lyle to name a couple).

Post covid we didn't really replace any of the older guys with the same level of quality and we've been on a steady downward trajectory since, and obviously this current rebuild we're going through isn't plain sailing.

We've been through a few spells under Tucker where things have been stale and predictable and he's always rebuilt well. Eight league games into one of the biggest challenges he's faced isn't the time to be replacing him.

As a Pollok fan you'll be as aware as anyone of the dangers of chopping and changing management all the time.

I am not sure if chopping and changing is the problem we had, more just terrible appointments.

That’s why I asked about who would be Talbots alternative as if people want rid of Tucker then there isn’t many/ any around with a better record.

What Pollok have seen directly after Sneddon was poor appointments. Sinnett to try and win the Scottish, Willie Irvine which was more about money he could bring with him, and some belief about access to pro youth players, Richardson who was never going to work due to his history.

Then under the manager who is at Darvel we did have some stability, initially, however he was allowed too much control at the club, too close to too many people and when it was obvious his time was up, we didn’t react soon enough.
Murdie was really only about continuity.
Maxi, time will tell, but he certainly has rebuilt the squad to a decent level which we were crying out for. Some mistakes this season, but seems to be learning.

So if Talbot went for another manager at this level, I don’t see a Henderson, Friels etc being the quality of Tucker. Strain has won at Beith, but at the same time Kilwinning wasn’t all plain sailing.
The natural successor for Talbot you would have thought would have been a player who played under a Tucker for a while and is doing well cutting their teeth at other clubs, but that doesn’t seem to be working. Butch, didn’t work at Beith, Gormley was ok at Broomhill then Kilwinning was a disaster, was it Pope who left a lower league club the other week.
Spencer didn’t work at Meadow either.

  7. I would be surprised to get a reply to this post.
For those posters (one especially) who want Tucker to go, who do you want to replace him? As not many to chose from ?

I actually do agree from a neutral pov Talbot have been in gradual decline and haven’t been the team they once were. If we go back a few years to the Pollok v Talbot match that ended 3-3. Talbot v 9 men for 30 odd minutes would have been a disaster, however that team lacked the creativity to open us up. Too used to playing direct to Wilson and playing off seconds and this level has moved on a bit from that now.

I can’t comment on yesterday as no there but talking to someone who was at the game thought darvel were better team and Bo’ness goalie outstanding however that doesn’t take away from the last 2 results which have been terrible and will have blown a massive hole in the budget for this season , however I can comment on signings this season ,some have been ok some have been terrible , he said early on youth would get a chance so small and urquhart seemed to suggest that would be the case , small out  on loan already and urquhart asked away and honestly 20k for Moore Cumnock must have seen them coming , it’s probably about 18 k more than the boy is worth , to say he’s been poor is an understatement ,and one or two of the signings have been ok but still nowhere near the level of the players who left the club , it could be a long winter as we haven’t played beith , Clydebank or pollok yet and if we had to lose a couple of them the season would be about over , to be messaging this middle Of September isn’t good

What your manager says isn’t what he does.

A club that was very active on social media seems to have went quiet? No post match interviews anymore?
Might cost you more than it did for Moore to sort out your manager situation.

Let's be honest most do their business during the season tapping up players due to go out of contract

Not sure if you can call it ‘tapping up’ when a player is out of contract and in their last few months / weeks.
Players as much as clubs will want to get themself sorted for the following season.
If a player is under contract for the following season and player is approached, then agree that’s tapping up. That then usually ends up with a transfer fee, so we are back where we started with that being only a few signings each summer (Darvel)

  10. 33 minutes ago, fb4 said:

Think we need to understand the signing process, we identify a player and say he costs 15k you have the initial payout then he wants £350 per week, the players you already have when contract renewal comes up wants the same money and we don't have brewsters millions thats at darvel.

How many players in the WoS Prem this season were signed for transfer fees?

Probably 95%+ all moved for free. Only really Darvel in the Prem shelling out fees for players. Burgh in first.
Most other clubs are doing their work during close season with players out of contract.

Clydebank should have won by a few more goals. Missed a couple of sitters.

Too many people think Talbot will be alright and come good but with that squad we'll be detached from the rest by Christmas.

£42000 sitting in the players fund and not a penny spent. Unbelievable .

You are only losing by the odd goal, which from the outside looks like if you sort out forward area then you will start to win again.

During the close season, when Stuart McCann didn’t re sign for us my concern was he would go to you. As really feel his power and pace would have fitted in well to how Sloan likes his players. Not sure if you did go for him before JB signed him but feels like a missed opportunity to me.

Any idea who the trialist RB was?

No didn’t get his name, possible Joe something? Did ok, probably one of our better players on a poor night.

But believe it’s just due to injury and suspension. Mullen back at the weekend so would expect and hope he is back in.
