Whats the views on the Maxi revolution for you guys? Pretty bold making as many changes as he has with some being forced with the likes of the McCanns and Lyon wanting away?

Any news on the rumour of Christie refusing to return to pre season unless he gets his move to Beith?

The group of players we had have had enough chances - came up short when it mattered. Quite happy to see something new rather than the old frailties repeating.

It will either be a success or a disaster! But looking forward more to the season than retaining 14/15 of the old squad and knowing the same old issues will continue.

Not heard the Christie story, but if someone doesn’t want to be there then will take the money and let them go.

Also noticed the juvenile poster who likes to deliberately spell Pollok wrong get involved.
The Talbot poster has the measure of that guy… (red dot incoming)

Watched Tony's interview on Dervel TV, mentioned having a young team, so Sidey, Gee & big Leishman only in to get the average age up?

He also mentioned how many trophies he won at Pollok, and going by what he said, numbers are not his strong point.

Well I was right about Slooves and Boydy to Talbot. Warton away now and Urquhart will be the next one away to Kilbirnie. O’Donnell away too Darvel. Hearing Faulds wanting away

How many is that away and still nothing about new signings?  Looks like players don’t want to be at Medda Park?

This meet n greet thing  Q&A with Mr Deeney - can see that one being cancelled.

But that’s right I’m no a real fan, im a troll with a grudge

If you’re no worried, are you a Medda fan?

    Where’s Bryan Wharton away to?

For me he's never going to keep 5 forwards happy , especially if all seasoned pros, I'm sure they will all sign thinking they will play but obviously 2 or 3 are going to be very disappointed. What that then brings is unrest in the dressing room, I know been there and seen that. Players being players will bitch and moan and bring the atmosphere and dressing room down , IMO 24 signed players is too much at this level amd just causes issues, but that is only my opinion but it is based on experience. Only time will tell if I'm right or wrong.

But they are not seasoned pros.

One of the 5 forwards is 22 another 23.

I do understand the point about 23/24 players, however football has changed a lot with 5 subs rule.
16 players per game can get on the field. That makes a lot of difference to keep players involved.

And if you think we have a lot of forwards with 5, have a look at Clydebank !

Having seen the amount of signings Pollok are making and the amount of forwards I'm wondering if anyone has a scubby what the managers signing policy and game plan is, I think it's just sign everybody available that will come and hope for the best!
there's going to be quite a few unhappy players midway through the season or sooner with the amount who won't get game time!

Pollok now have 23/24 signed players. One is on the transfer list.

We have 5 forwards of which some are attacking midfielders / wide players too.

Not sure what squad list you are seeing but that squad size is no different to what we had last season under our previous manager

The manager who used to run to smaller squads than that is now at Darvel, and due to holidays (especially August) injuries, suspensions we couldn’t fill our bench.

in addition 6 players are 22 or younger, so I am sure there will be some of them who are aware they are signing to be part of a squad that fingers crossed has a lot more games to play this season than they did last.

Think Shankland will stay to be honest once he has proved his fitness, agree re Taylor, Samson, Stafford and Mason first 3 all have reasons beyond managers control, surprised with Mason as was confident he would be a big player for us next season.

Gone based on his Twitter post. Not offered a deal.

Darvel / Ek / JB next??

    I beg to differ .....

Esplin was on about £300 from what I was told, not closer to the £400 you posted.

A ridiculous sum of money for our level, and driven by getting him to sign and not got to Darvel this time last year. However the £10k-14k we got for him (depending on who you ask) you could argue has compensated some of that.

We do work to a budget, what I would say, I am not sure if that budget is well spent for what we have seen on the park.

Please also let us know who the backer is since you “sort of know him” but not well enough to talk to

I know nothing about who is financing JB.

The only thing that is out in the public domain is that they were registered on companies house as a private limited company at the end of last year and show as having a single director who also owns or co owns another couple of businesses.

I assume you are in the know of who is behind the money?

Surprised at this announcement as thought Tony was maybe bowing out of the game but good luck to him. Will he still have the big monies to spend?

I would hope you are in a minority of one when it comes to anyone associated (fan / committee etc) with Pollok who would want to wish him good luck.

And I hope Darvel draw Kilbirnie away in every cup game they have !

Hopefully not. Just cos the west final is at meadow

I would be surprised if Newlandsfield is used for finals again due to the capacity constraints.

WoS finals would in most cases get 4 figure crowds

Neutral venue SJC matches I would be surprised would ever be held at Newlandsfield again following the last 18 months, even if we do re enter it at some point in the future, then the added capacity issues would rule it out too.

I would guess that we have had around 4 or 5 games reach capacity this season with another few less than 100 away and thats with us having an underwhelming season - so a big cup match in a location that is easy for neutrals to attend would reach capacity easily

Mick Kennedy was caught on camera approaching Jamie in his garden and finally got his man. Jamie left Talbot because he wasn't getting enough game time. He started with all guns blazing with the circus but has slowly been ushered to the bench again. I hope he gets back into the team or moves to another club which will be highly unlikely as nobody will match Darvel's asking price because they paid good money for him. Great wee player I was sad to see him leave Beechwood.

What length of contract did Glasgow sign when he went to Darvel?
Was a player I would have loved to have seen at Newlandsfield.

The Pollok number 2 was like that with Ross Talyor throughout,  including holding him in a headlock on the ground at one point and clearly hoping for some retaliation. Taylor didn't take the bait and the piss weak Ref did nothing to protect him from the assault. unsurprisingly it's not in the highlights vid.

If you think a head lock is an assault then your no 9 must have attempted murder !

if the incident you are referring to was in the bottom corner in 2nd half then I doubt from the Pollok camera man angle you could have got a decent view of that. if you watch the highlights he could easily have left out the Rumbsy foul but didn’t, as very rarely he doesn’t show all incidents.

The incident you're talking about was a wee bit far away for me to comment on.

Kidding on. Should have been a red, aye. The lads are right about the last man thing but taking the three points probably takes the sting out of it, mind you.

Game should have finished 10 players a piece.

The incident in the first half is a definite red.
shocking that between two officials they thought that it was a yellow and then also booked the wrong player.

The Rumbsy foul equally looks a red on watching it back, from my view at the game I thought Gow was closer.

However two wrongs don’t make a right, 10 men after 30 mins and it is a very different game and the second incident may not have taken place.

Saw Maxi getting some heat from some Lok supporters on twitter after the game which I thought was unwarranted. From all accounts read, sounded like it was a decent game. Probably closest score line between the two at Beechwood for some time?

Fishing trip? Or memory like a goldfish, to be fair possibly the later as you seemed to forget which team you support and started to turn up at Talbot

Not so much ignoring as choosing not to comment on situations I didn't see. You may very well be right about those things but either way they have no real bearing on any of the points I raised.

    I think they do.

You seem to want to make out that Pollok are a gang - exact word used.

Meanwhile, you have a player throwing a punch, bench knows the ref got it wrong and shouting to the No 7 to not make an issue of it.
Add in surrounding the ref when your player went down after a 50/50 on in the bottom corner in a tackle with Mullen. Acting like a gang ???

While I know my club are far from perfect the selecting viewing you have of your own team needs called out.
