  1. Uh huh. Forgive me for having no time for Twitter Sewer Rats like Janela and Wings.
  2. You really don't. Whether you are pro or against the SNP or the Tories or whatever there is a real vile element on Twitter that trawls the depths. Janella is one of the high priestesses of the Yoon windowlicker element on Twitter and is to be avoided much as you would wish to avoid Rev Stuart Campbell of the Indy movement who is basically a fucking w****r.
  3. Not really controversial. Many of the figures you quote were absolute giants compared with halfwit pygmies like Dougie Ross or Willie Rennie or that pair of gin sodden old wrecks Mitchell & Fabiani. Labour's cabinet in 1997 had some real heavyweights like Robin Cook and Mo Mowlam. Staggering how bad some of them are now irrespective if they're Westminster or Holyrood.
  4. That was always a funny thing when I worked in Glasgow (2005-2008), many of the Rangers lads I worked with had RC burds and nobody give a toss. I played 5s with a mixed group of Rangers and Celtic lads from work. We weren't all singing round a fireplace and there was a lot of robust and funny banter but we were capable of conducting ourselves like humans and going for a pint after a 5s game. As the token Hibby who took the piss out of all of them and got plenty back I was in receipt of regular "match spares" at both Ibrox and Parkhead. Whilst there are elements of knuckledragging you'll never get rid of I have to say the atmosphere was much tamer than I remember from the 80s and 90s where there were lots of bampots and bigots.
  5. You naughty youngsters. What are you like......
  6. I'd heard that boy Cole Hamilton was a bit of a bellend. This confirms it.. BTW, the commentary on here is better than the pathetic MSM. Take a bow P&Bers.
  7. I believe Spurs now have moved away from the generic crap and have their own microbrewery at the stadium. Christ knows what it costs though. And you still can't take it out the concourse area. If Scottish teams were allowed to sell beer you can bet it would be the overpriced watery crap from Tennents or Carling. I'm just about old enough to recall a few games in 1979 at Easter Road with my older cousins before the booze ban. Drinking at games entailed guys coming in to the ground with carrier bags of cans and usually a flat pint bottle of whisky or Vodka which then was often used as a missile if Rangers or Celtic were visiting. And it was the same from the away end.
  8. My own experiences with booze at games was when I worked in London and attended matches at Arsenal and Spurs. The beer on offer was overpriced watery Carlsberg in a plastic bottle. Also there wasn't much of a queue for it, fans weren't exactly guzzling it up. The workmates I was with said the same thing "It's overpriced and shite. We'll go get a proper drink afterwards."
  9. You are quite correct re Moravcik. I've just looked at their squad from that season which makes their title win all the more remarkable. Best players were Larsson, Reiper, Boyd, Burley and Lambert. However I spoke to a couple of Hearts mates on the Monday at our 5 a side game after the Derby and they were of the opinion that any title challenge was gone. Then again they were convinced that HIbs were going to stay up (I wasn't) so I guess their judgement might come into question.
  10. Rangers blew it. That Rangers team was an aging team with a manager who was leaving. Off field incidents involving players like Gascoigne and Negri had not helped either. There were a number of players who should have been replaced in the years before so it was no surprise that they blew up and failed to finish off teams and ended up losing the Scottish Cup Final. Had things been handled better, they would have won the league. Celtic had a couple of very special players in Larsson and Moravcik and a number of very average players but they got over the line in the end. I never thought Hearts would win the title that year either. By the time they lost at Easter Road in April 98 they looked to be out of gas and the vultures were circling talking about what plyers would move on(the curse of all non OF clubs in Scotland). Credit to Jim Jeffries for keeping them going for the Cup.
  11. Christ are you lot and the BBC Scotland Sports department still behaving like a couple of tear stained Veruca Salts going full "Im not talking to her until she talks to me". I had no idea that Jim Traynors last Blue Room tantrum fart was still a thing .
  12. Christie is a gem of a player. But he's not going to be in Scotland after the summer. Celtic won't get a huge fee either as he only has a year left on his contract and he's on a modest salary compared with some of their players.
  13. You could well be right. Christie is a certainty to go. Is on a relatively low wage at Celtic and hasn't signed a new contract. Plus don't think he isn't having interesting discussions with Andy Robertson, Kieran Tierney and John McGinn on Scotland duty.
  14. They are without doubt. Financially they are the most powerful club in Scotland and in business terms they are the biggest. But they've taken their eye off the ball.
  15. I would at least be thinking that there are moves afoot behind the scenes at Celtic. Surely Lawell will be doing the following? 1 Working with new CEO to ensure a smooth handover and getting a serious amount of finance available for the summer transfer window. 2 Sourcing a new coaching team and this time not on the cheap. 3 getting the football department to draw up a list of players available for transfer plus free transfers out. 4 Sign a top class Keeper for August. Or is it as my Celtic mate says "Lawell is probably playing mair golf than Donald Trump."
  16. Rangers have won the league because they've been amazingly consistent and they have a top class goalkeeper who has saved them between 10 and 15 points. Celtic, the only club who can challenge them, have played like complete spanners all season and had a series of total clownshoes in goals who as our Glaswegian friends would say "couldnae keep weans oot a close". You can see this recently as at their worst Rangers bullshitted their way to a point at Hamilton thanks again to McGregor whilst Celtic crashed miserably in Dingwall. I actually think Hugh Keevins was right, Celtic were eaten alive by the whole 10 in a Row thing.
  17. Honestly Merkland, I read the HIbs statement and if I'm being charitable I'd say it was a holding pattern statement before something more comprehensive came from the club. However I think that is it and that is utterly hopeless. It simply will not do just to say we feel sorry for the victims and look now all is well as we have Child Protection Officers involved with our boys and girls teams.
  18. If that is the case then the Union is in a terminal condition. Salmond's ratings in Scotland are lower than Johnson 's now and his are through the floor. The problem for Salmond is that he is tainted by accusations and attacking a generally popular First Minister doesn't go down well as it just looks like a raging rant from a man with an ego the size of the planet.. As for Wings he had his uses a few years ago. His ability to call bullshit on the MSM was welcome but he's said the most atrocious things on Twitter towards the LGBT community which were unforgiveable and he was rightly banned. Brillo is another Murdoch poodle. with a rampaging ego. His new Gammon news channel because the MSM and dribbling shite like Talk Radio are obviously not right wing enough will hopefully die miserably on its arse.
  19. Yes they lost at the weekend to St Johnstone but don't be surprised if both HIbs and Aberdeen cock things up spectacularly in the run in and Livi come up on the outside lane to finish 3rd leaving us both with trips to Latvia and Belarus in early July whilst Livi get the Europa League Group Stages.
  20. Hibs are long overdue a win against Aberdeen. Our record against them is nothing short of horrific. I see this tradition of incompetence continuing this weekend with either a 0-1 or 0-0 in the offing as both managers send their sides on the pitch with the words of Bertie Auld in his Partick Thistle days ringing in their ears....."You've got a point....dinnae lose it."
  21. What will this evening's game of Jack Ross Selection Bingo bring? Honestly no idea ..
  22. This has all the makings of being a genuinely terrible football match.....
  23. It's one of the reasons I can't be bothered with Twitter. Nothing but a stream of tears and snotters stained, immature, pathetic whiners thinking they "got you" because they post a link. Between them and the offended brigade ….... As Stephen Fry said.... "Oh! you're offended!" "Well so fucking what!"
  24. Horribly, you might be right. Last time I saw Zander he was lunging in for Oldham and generally playing like a Sunday League Carthorse. Porteous was great in the U21s for Scotland and because of his size he was able to bully players. Also Hibs fans were loving it because he had walloped Morelos a few times under the guise of youthful enthusiasm. So all well and good but now, he doesn't get away with it. Experienced players are wise to him. They know he's still rash and makes some really stupid tackles. Only reason he starts alongside Hanlon is because the backup , Darren McGregor, is 35 and injury prone. Personally I think he needs some time out of the team and I think Hibs should be looking at the post Hanlon era as well.
