  1. He's certainly not a conviction politician. Everything he's done is about the betterment of Boris Johnson, nobody else. He won't do another election. His own seat is under threat both from the Boundary Commission and from a straightforward loss to Labour at the next GE. Also, as he has already complained, he isn't earning enough money as PM to cover his outgoings. Apart from the alimony and paternity bills, he spends money like a drunk in a casino so he'll go back to writing bullshit puff pieces for right wing rags like the Telegraph and Spectator and probably getting a few lucrative Directorships.
  2. Semi Finalists in the European Cup........ Along with Hibernian in 1956.
  3. I was so glad when Hibs and Marathon Bet parted ways. Reckon both Celtic and Rangers will have to get new sponsors at the end of the upcoming season at the days of bookies on shirts are numbered.
  4. Your 1980s kits from Umbro were superb. My auld Dees supporting uncle gave me a Dundee top for Christmas in 1985. Got some amount of wear out it in May 86! Wish I still had the shirt.
  5. Utilita Energy. Would have preferred a new pie supplier.
  6. Thankfully I never see any of that stuff as dumping Twitter is this year's thing in 2021 and I was way ahead of the curve in that respect.. But I've heard he's horrendous.
  7. 2pm announcement today from Easter Road. Could be anything from new kits. to a new contract for Jack Ross to most probably a new Pies supplier.
  8. To be fair, even though he's in the building, he doesn't actually officially start until July 1. However Lawell has left him inheriting a shambles.
  9. Is he still a thing? Thought he just regurgitated his Sevco Stenography to ever diminishing returns.
  10. I have a love for early 90s adidas and I had the Marseille home shirt wiith the light blue shoulder stripes. But for me the best Rangers shirt was the 85-87 Umbro one. Simple clean design with a nice crossover collar
  11. You're not shite at all and there are some good players at Pittodrie but you need to go shopping for strikers. Glass IMHO will basically try to replicate what he experienced when he played at Hibs where he was part of a side that had a lot of good young talent playing every week round a few of senior pros (Considine, Brown, Lewis etc) . Consistency will be hard to achieve and you'll play a lot of entertaining stuff that the fans will enjoy and wipe some teams away. However there will be regular horrific performances with the odd unexpected heavy defeat as well and forget about challenging the uglies..
  12. That's a certainty. Hibs noting the affinity the Duke of Edinburgh had with our city. Usual dafties going mental about that.
  13. When I was at University I used to work in an certain Edinburgh West End bar quite popular with footballers. Darren Jackson and John Robertson were regulars and both nice guys to talk to. Ally McCoist used to come in with Gordon Marshall (the then Celtic keeper) much to the displeasure of local Edinburgh bluenoses who were a humourless lot at the best of times. "Whit ye daein drinking w' him?" and all that. McCoist used to respond "He's my mate and nobody tells me who I can and can't have a pint with" which usually left them seething. I liked Ally, he was funny and good company. Mark Hateley however was an absolute p***k who walked about with his nose in the air.
  14. Straight out the Bot and Troll factory those comments.
  15. Sobering figures but an awful lot better than what a lot of clubs will post. Thankfully we are on target to finish 3rd (hopefully) and have European football at ER which will help.
  16. That was what forced me away from Labour in the first place. I never ever understood the hatred for the SNP another centre left party, a party they could work with on so many levels. How they could cuddle up to the Tories is just fucking beyond me. And then there is the Bain principle, one of the dumbest most myopic pieces of political idiocy ever. Its cost them hugely through the last decade. Perhaps Sarwar has woken up to this, perhaps not.
  17. Sarwar made the right decision(can hardly believe I'm typing this) in getting Labour to have nothing to do with that stupid VONC from the Tories and making them own its failure totally. Listening to his reasonable speech I wonder if he's eying up 2nd place in the election and thinking "this is for the taking."
  18. If they had any dignity, a big fat apology.
  19. She should but I reckon she'll hold back and behave like a stateswoman. Then she can tear Dross apart at the election.
  20. I have no dog in the Celtic Rangers fight and I agree that Celtic need signings. I would assume that the new coach would be looking to build his team around Turnbull and possibly Christie if he signs a new contract. However when he goes on international duty and he's room sharing with Robbo, Tierney or McGinn he's probably getting his head turned toward what he could earn down south. Celtic may have to take what they can get in the summer for him. I still think Celtic have a powerful squad there but Lennon's tactics of picking fights with players and then chucking them under the bus in the eyes of the media to get a reaction out of them ran out of steam the same way it did at Hibs.
  21. I was at that game. Hugely impressed by the big Kilmarnock support that day who backed their team from start to finish and deserved their point that kept them up.
  22. Given some of the rank chat I've seen from Hibs fans online there would be no shortage of hammerheads going "I'll drive the c*** tae Pittodrie"
  23. As a Hibs fan I don't think Aberdeen will revert to the days of the early 90s at all. As you say Aberdeen have an infrastructure in place now much like Hibs and Hearts do in terms of Training Centre and Youth Academies. You have also had your historical debt written off. But lets be clear you do pay substantially more in salaries than Hibs or Hearts do thanks to money from your US backers. Your current wages to turnover ratio is over 90% and that will have to be addressed as it is not sustainable. Where Hibs or Hearts are paying 3-6k a week (Hearts probably less just now in the Championship) for a 1st team player, you are up in the 5-8k bracket and you have regularly outbid Hibs for players. Both Aberdeen and Hibs will likely be in Europe next year (realistically in the Europa Conference League groups) and that will bring in much needed revenue. With a manager who doesn't play with the handbrake on like McInnes you could do very well both in the league and in terms of picking up European football cash.
  24. I don't believe that there was ever the intention to do anything about it minus one of the two big power brokers. It was a case of biding their time. For that the League (Doncaster) , the Clubs and in particular the Chairmen including Messrs Lawell, Milne and Petrie should be criticised for their conduct. Best case scenario for them would have seen Rangers booted into the Championship for a season, worst case was the diddies not playing along it was out the leagues and back in the back door to the bottom division and then a return.in 3 or 4 seasons which is what ended up happening. The MSM were desperate for "normal service" to be resumed. Eventually they got it.
