  1. They said a squad of 18 with 3/4 loans and Sheerin specifically mentioned a back up goalie, a striker and a versatile defender were required.
  2. Only 50k and he'll be on well more than we could afford done there. He was out our league when TNS came calling.
  3. Yeah we're still full time. We need strikers as we only have 2 at the club currently so Ruth seems like the most likely option. We also need a centre mid capable of getting up and down the park as we've been immobile in there for years. From what Abroath fans are saying Ruth was mostly used out on the wing for them so probably hard to judge him on that loan. Hopefully makes a nuisance of himself and runs the channels well.
  4. Shadders you can't tell a jobber from pictures. He can look like a right fud from pictures but you can't tell how he plays from them. As RandomGuy has said could just be a case of a club giving him his chance for him to kick on. He's 19 years old for christ sake. Sheerin's rightfully having a look at him to get his own judgement. If he's shite Sheerin will identify that and off he will pop. They said there would be 2 more permanent signings and 3/4 loans therefore you'd like to think one of those permanent signings will still be a striker regardless of whether Ruth comes in or not.
  5. Nice to see you're still ill over Tidser choosing us over his beloved Morton. Imagine losing your club captain/legend/Mr Morton to the team who have just been relegated from your league. Absolute diddy club. Who's paying the player wages this year? Gus taking his payments in alternative months to make sure his squad gets something?
  6. Just you keep your squad nice and warm for us viking, we'll be back next summer.
  7. In fairness Robertson's history isn't exactly any different to Ruth. 19 year old striker who has only just been released by a premier league team. Again Sheerin's worked with Ruth so he knows what he's getting from him so we just need to trust that he knows best here. Doesn't seem to have done much at Arbroath on loan but to be fair I don't think many of the Arbroath team done much the first half of the season.
  8. Don't imagine he'll be the last Aberdeen youth player coming our way.
  9. Is he any good? Also is Virtanen likely to be involved in the first team this season wouldn't mind him on loan.
  10. Kyle Turner & Tiffoney for Partick are great pieces of business. As is Mckay returning to Inverness. Polworth is also a fantastic signing if you get someone in beside him who allows him to play his game and just focus on creating, Blair Alston isn't that someone. Scott Robinson for Killie is a strong signing as well imo, he'll cause defences quite a few problems this season.
  11. I assume we're playing someone tonight or today but nobody's mentioned as such. We've got Hearts on Saturday.
  12. Definitely a centre back, saw him play for a Motherwell colts team and he was dodgy to say the least.
  13. Just watched the highlights of your first play off leg against Stranraer, first half he should have had a hatrick. Looks very much to play on the shoulder of the last defender without actually having an abundance of pace. Also it was only one set of highlights but I'm guessing his left foots only for standing on?
  14. How was he at you lot last season? Obviously only managed a handful of goals but what style of striker is he? Does he hold the ball in well and link play for others? Does he make a nuisance of himself? Does he look to run in behind the defence? Or is he a big lazy b*****d that waits on people creating chances for him?
  15. My point still stands he should be scoring for fun at that level.
  16. Strong Leith connections clearly coming from Ian Fergus. To be fair he should be scoring for fun at that level it's not even the top end of the juniors.
  17. See I don't think it's him as according to reports online the ex Ipswich boy is 5ft 7 and from the photo's the number 5 doesn't look 5ft 7. Could be that the reports online are wrong though as it's a very random name to pull out the hat. Looks as if he came on for Dixon and played as the left sided centre back with another trialist replacing Mccann at left back.
  18. I'm a bit late in the day but there's probably not a better set of highlights to watch to get a gauge of Josh Rae than the below. He was very impressive that day. Paton and Nditi seem to be very good signings for you lot as well and both still young enough to go develop further.
  19. Also noticed as part of the Q&A they said the scouting network was set up in Scotland and will be expanded to England and Ireland but I'd imagine that won't be until we get promoted. Which is where you need a DOF with contacts and friends everywhere which by the way Holt conducts himself I doubt he has.
  20. Weird that we seem to have a left back in on trial when we have Mccann, Sneddon and Dixon who can all play there currently. Hopefully the centre back number 5 showed up well as I'd hate to think of Hall being our first replacement in there. Jaime Wilson and John Robertson aren't exactly what we as fans have been looking for as our next number 9 but at least Sheerin's having a proper look at them first as you never know they could suit the way he wants to play. They're both still relatively young aswell. Just don't feel their attributes would do much to improve us. Wilson obviously showed at Rothes he has goals in him but for Dumbarton last season I don't remember him ever being a threat. Like Rocco says we just have to wait and trust Sheerin's judgement on the next few signings.
  21. I think he was actually talking about the scouting and Lex Millar contract's more than anything when he said the recruitment process was shocking.
  22. I'm saving that result for when we get pumped in any of our friendlies.
  23. He's signed with Forfar for the season i'm sure.
