Hybrid is the way to go like Murrayfield and a lot of epl sides. Costs a lot and doesn't generate income so unlikely to see it at gayfield. Brian Kerr got injured on Forfar plastic and never played again which was a massive loss to us.

We don't really know what level or ability he has at the moment as we haven't seen him for almost the whole season. If he's scoring goals he has confidence and that can be worth a lot as a striker. I would give him a chance.

Form he is in at the moment I think he will do it. Maybe even get there on Saturday [emoji38]

Just for clarification:
If Doris scores 14 or fewer league goals this year, you win?
If Doris scores 15 or more league goals this year, I win?
If he moves club (unlikely, but need to factor it in), league goals for other club count too?
I'll take your charity tenner please. If I win, you pay £10 to RNLI Arbroath
Edit to add: Playoff goals don't count?
Can Doris get 4 more to get up to 15?0 -
It was the same last season, always a player being singled out for criticism (mostly David Gold) Yes last season was a complete nightmare & perhaps a few needed to vent their frustrations but considering how this year we are at the right end of the table & look certain of at least a play off place, we would see more positivity. If we were top of the league, someone would be singled out. It goes to show that a lot of supporters of most clubs aren't happy unless they are directing negative energy at either club or individual.
The whole point in a forum is to air your own views and what your opinion is. If we are all just going to pat each other on the back all the time what's the point?
It's not directing negative energy at anybody or the club it's just individual fans opinions and as fans were entitled to have an opinion.
I encourage all the players at the game even if I do think they are off there game and get fully behind the team on the park.
Afterwards we can air our views on forums such as this as that is what they are designed for.
We are doing a lot better this year but when I look at our squad and some of the quality we have I feel we should have got more points this season than we have. Still we have taken big steps forward from the last year and overall we have to be happy with that. We don't have to be happy week in week out though!0 -
Missing at their goal? Whit, he was right next to him, he couldn't have done any more about it, wouldn't matter who closed the guy down it was a total fluke, it was a cross. What's wrong with his positioning? How often has he been beat for pace? I think he's done well there since the half time break at Links.
Ferns has played 2 bad games, we've won one of them, the other he came on when we were already getting beat.
If we stuck to playing players in their positions Davie Gold and Skelly wouldn't have had as good a season as they've had.
#Missing
He allowed the guy to have a cross/shot that's why I said missing but it was probably the wrong choice of word.
A good defender would have stopped him crossing/shooting in my opinion.
I'm not trying to have a go at him but just saying he's not the answer to our left back question.0 -
He'll get a chance at one point. Prunty done well when he came on v Mo and I think that's what got him the start at the weekend.
Pleasantly surprised with Hodge at LB. Yes he's not a Jordan Lowden that'll be making overlaps all the time but he's steady, Gold does this down the other wing, think whoever is behind Bobby needs to be more defensive minded anyway. Uses the ball a lot better than Sukar.
His positioning was poor. He was missing at their goal and he has no pace. Other than that he's a great left back.
I think if we stuck to playing players in their natural positions and not playing Ferns we would be giving Forfar a harder time at the moment.0 -
If that was the case him and Hammy would've been swapped around ages ago
Just the point I was going to make. We have Sukar who's preferred position is left centre back and now and now flynn. Play one of them at centre back and play hammy left back where he's shown in the past he can chip in with goals and assists. We have little to lose by at least trying that for a couple of games.0 -
He says himself he can play anywhere along the back 4. Full back is the easiest position in football.
Fwiw as a defender I think he's decent most of the time. He's just hopeless on the ball, constantly trying fucking 40 yard passes instead of rolling it to Bobby Linn.
Him and Gold having poor games meant Linn and Skelly never got on it nearly enough.
Centre half is an easier position imo. Full back is a lot harder work.0 -
Primarily a centre half but played left back through youth levels

According to that he played left back between the age of 8 and 11 so I will stand by the fact he's not a left back.0 -
Nice to know he has the full backing and support of the fans.
I do back him and it's not his fault he's not a left back and playing out of position.0 -
After seeing Sukar yesterday and against Annan, I have no doubts, he is dreadful at LB, has no clue when to go or stay, when to pass or clear it, he has no instinct for the position
Probably because he's not a left back!

Bet Doris wishes he had Swankie, Sheerin and Falkingham teeing him up this season.

Personally think the loan system is fine as long as you don't over rely on it for first team starters who are all very young which has what has happened in the past. Our loans have all been development this season but apart from sukar they have been to complement and give cover/competition in places. Even Skelly has not been guaranteed a game this season even though he has been very good in the main.
I don't think DC has relied on the loan system the same as the last 2 seasons when all the loan players seemed to be starting every game and there was better imo on the bench.
I think though a football forum is somewhere to vent your thoughts and although it sometimes appears to be negative it's mainly just expressing concerns you may or may not be correct about.
We needed cover at the back and we have that now so seems a good piece of business to me.0 -
If he's going to let Thomson, Philips and Dunlop go and not replace them that is madness. Surely he must have at least a loan lined up if Thomson is away

They could of used a picture of McCord in a lichties top!
Think we definitely need defensive cover. Even better would actually be a new good centre half and hammy at left back.0 -
5 of our starting 11 have played over 100 games.

I'm sure his wife's finances are in excellent shape.

If we could bring a top centre back in then I agree hammy to left back would be good. If not I would be happy enough to keep sukar and skelly to be honest. I think Philips deserves to get a run in the team but we need backup.

Remember Travis going out on loan and coming back a far better player. Hopefully same will happen with Hester

Shame it's not boxing day

Shocking decision. Not exactly encouraging people to come to the game. If we go down this road of constant segregation we need to put it at the corner as has been said.
Wonder if they will feel the need for mounted police as well!0 -
Get your drift, but take a look out the window fine day for a game and in the winter we will play in awful weather, today is a waste, just a thought
Got to agree having a free week at the end of the summer is crazy. Should be taking advantage of this time of year and play challenge cup mid week.0 -
Can only play as a Trailest in div 1 and 2
Yeah just read that. Used to just be the SPL before the merge must have changed since then.0

If only Moore had played Little at centre half we would have been promoted 2 years ago
