    Yes, I'm ashamed to say my big team were Meadowbank Thistle. There, I've said it now. I feel strangely cleansed. Rangers fans - take heed. Ignore me. I'm having a mare today. Making similar mistakes on work emails - emails not addressed to me but I'm assuming they are.

    Sarcasm, mate. You know what I meant. Of course, anybody who only remembers those two decades is either dead or has lost interest in football. Throwing it open to P&B. Does anybody remember the twenty years up to 1965? You'd have to have been born 1940-ish to have any chance. I was only 4 in 1965 and don't remember anything football-related until the 1970 World Cup and those Texaco coins.

    That's pish. Choose any period from the last War until today and you could hardly describe Rangers as the bigger and better team. Anybody starting watching in the mid-60s saw Celtic win 29 leagues to Rangers 20 and Celtic with the European Cup. Anyone starting after the Premier began in the mid-70s saw 20 Celtic wins to 19 by Rangers. Only someone joining the fun from the start of Rangers' 9IAR run could claim that Rangers were the bigger and better side. Of course, that Rangers club is dead now so it's all moot. And none of this 'big team found' stuff - it's just the facts. mam.

    THIS season is 2018/19. Season 2017/18 has ended. NEXT season is 2019/20. ETA: Actually, that might be pish. We may be in an inter-season hiatus. The SPFL website shows the 2018/19 season starting on 4th August. But it also shows the 2017/18 season finishing after the cup final. The SPFL are fucking amateurs. What happens when Rangers (or, less likely, United) go bust? Which season takes the points hit? We need to be told.

    I wouldn't joke about winning League 1. I woke up this morning convinced that we'd just been relegated in the play-offs... by Brechin. The feeling of shock and hurt will live with me until after breakfast.

    Knew 2 (the year and Quakers) and scored 5 for Wednesday. I thought early-onset dementia might be... setting in and my memory was going but I had another look and I've NEVER known those answers.

    It looks like a 'Stevie Gerrard doesn't have a license' thread has been pulled on the John James site. There are recent comments on the left of the home page pointing to a page that can't be found. Seems to be headed 'Steven Gerrard - the sou...'. I can guess that the incomplete word might be 'soup' but did anyone manage to read the whole thing before it was pulled? Was JJ telling porkies or has he had a visit from someone?

    Their running costs were 76M but it's a bit of a stretch to call that 'spending on the team'. By that measure, Rangers spent 32M. ETA: 32M plus another 10M or so in loans.
