  1. Every so often, I get this wee thought raising it's head and saying "There won't be a Rangers playing in the SPL next season". Just think how ginormous that fact is!!
  2. What's a "die in the wool rangers fan"? I can just about imagine a "die in the wool Dons fan" - that's sorta like snuffing it on the job for them.
  3. Well said, Pressley. A brave man. We've been saying the same since this proposal was first mooted but sometimes it just takes 1 person in a position of influence to get these things out in the open and then the others follow suit.
  4. Cheeky Chappy from Essex By all the laws of t'internet, this'll go pear-shaped.
  5. He must have an ulterior motive for wanting them to stay. He has to pay them this week and again in another 30 days. The chances of getting even 1 player sold and the money in their bank in that timescale are low. So, is he aiming for another liquidation or a closing down sale?
  6. Why restrict yourself to a monotheistic take on the world? This thread is like a pantheon of Greek gods. Jim Spence, Craig Whyte, RTC...
  7. If he doesn't pay the wages, does The Newco go into administration? Or straight to liquidation?
  8. How can the SFA/SPL punish a team that doesn't exist? All they could do was refuse to allow them entry to the league if they were to apply. Oh, aye. I see where you're going...
  9. You don't think Green would go so far as to take this contracts issue to court with the sole intention of pissing off FIFA/UEFA and getting Scotland expelled? Vindictive barsteward, brinksmanship or just doesn't have a clue?
  10. MORIA from the typing pool? Quite appropriate for the Orcs. (A wee Tolkein joke there.)
  11. From the Rangers Media Whittaker & Naismith thread: I can just imagine the pictures in the papers tomorrow - 1, 2 or all 3 of them with cut lips and black eyes.
  12. It might actually be fun to see The Rangers struggling in SFL1 with just the players that are too shit or too young to move elsewhere. Better to see them struggling in SFL3 but I'd settle for SFL1.
  13. If Scottish football really has sold its inheritance and crashes in a cloud of insolvency, the future might actually hold more hope than it seems to do at the moment. The fan base isn't going to disappear - they'll still be happy to pay out on a Saturday afternoon at 3. If both Dundee clubs go bust, a new Dundee Phoenix will be formed - what else is there to do in Dundee of a weekend??? Scottish football will rise from the ashes and work it's way back towards its correct level. Football as we know it today might disappear but football as my dad and grandad knew it might return.
  14. Yesterday's BBC news covered the upcoming Pixar film, Brave, which is set in Scotland. It's about that newspaper burd, Rebecca Brooks, in case you didn't know (*). I don't know if they pre-selected their interviewees but, when they interviewed Americans about their knowledge of Scotland, the answers were all about Ireland. Or crime - they were thinking of Scotland Yard! * Actually, it might not be but that's who's in the trailer. My kids are too old to come with me to see Disney films these days so I'll just have to wait for the DVD to find out for sure. Wonder if she gets her kit off.
  15. I think the 'problem' is that Sky HAVEN'T paid to broadcast SPL games yet. Apparently, they've still to sign off on next season's deal.
  16. But, for Hearts or any of the other diddies, the arrogance disappears when your clubs stops winning. With the OF, it doesn't.
  17. The Zombies' Return - this time it's personal (hygiene). [Edit: I'll get this spelling thang sussed eventually.]
  18. I love the sound of 'tribuneral'. I had to go to a tribunal a few years back and it would have been so much less scary if I'd though of it as a 'tribuneral'. I can put those nightmares to sleep now - thanks, mate!
  19. I'm not sure it matters - I don't believe The Rangers have a viable business plan and they'll either go bust before the start of the season or shortly afterwards. Morally indefensible, pragmatically irrelevant. (edited for pish poor spelling/typing)
