Do you think the club owning the ground lets the other use it for free? They'll be charging a decent rent to cover their costs. Money the groundsharing club can't invest in their own facilities. There are clubs that frankly are taking the piss with groundsharing distances away from their "traditional" locations, but I really don't have an issue with groundsharing as long as clubs have secure tenencies. Land is expensive and finite and it really doesn't make sense to have a ground (particularly one with an artificial pitch) stand idle every other Saturday. Ideally, every club would own their own ground, but pragmatically, that's not really feasible. Many rent long term from other sources (councils, trusts) anyway.

Last thing I heard Buckie Rovers still hadn't got a committee together so were taking another year out. Not heard anything about SVU, although was passing through Cromdale the other weekend and the pitch looks in decent nick. The Strathspey & Badenoch League has returned this summer so the Cromdale welfare side has been playing there.

Lossiemouth United have announced they are returning for next season, having been accepted back into the North Region.

Pretty sure the Lowland League didn't set up the South Challenge Cup. The North and South Challenge Cups were brought in when the North and South Qualifying Cups were scrapped back in 2007 as the Scottish Cup went all in for licenced clubs. The Lowland League wasn't founded until 2013.

They play in the Scottish Junior Football Association North Region Superleague. North and East Regions still exist and are in the pyramid. This is an odd hill to choose to die on.

I've previously done the HAC in the cup forum, so just did it in there. I don't think it really matters - HAC is summer football, so it's often the only thing going on in any of the competition forums anyway, one of the advantages of being up north is getting year round football!

Highland Hospice are unable to raise a team and have withdrawn from their postponed match against Portree next weekend.

I didn't realise you had made this thread, I have been posting in the Domestic Cup Football subforum. Harris beat United on Friday night and Maryburgh beat Culloden yesterday. Portree v Highland Hospice was postponed due to a funeral and is to be played next weekend. The second round weekend is 4th June.
