Good signing for the Ravers. He is a bit lightweight but skillful and very good at set pieces. Would have had him back in a heartbeat but we would have had to off loaded a few as we are top heavy in that department. Main surprise is that he couldnt get into what appears to be a poor Dross County team

Agree with that but the lack of a “bite yer ankles” defensive midfielder might come back to bite us. Teams like Airdrie, Queens Park and even Ayr last night appear to be just running through our midfield. We got lucky in the first half last night but a team like Dundee Und might punish us in a few weeks time!

Out of contract at the end of the season so if he hits the ground at Ayr you could offer him a PCA in January

Thought Dowds would have been an excellent signing for us but it just never happened for him and it looks as if Dools never really rated him. Could do a half decent job at Ayr if he is up for it. To be honest, in his short sub appearances this season he has looked far from interested but that might be down to the manager not really fancying him and telling him that!

If Bully gets the bullet, surely The Pout is a shoe in!!

Be great to see them being offered contract extensions and while I think Steve would sign right away I think Jack might think the Premiership beckons again. In saying that I don’t think many, if any, saw Milne sign an extension so fingers crossed. Those two are the heartbeat of the team!!

No matter what, it’s unacceptable for us to go to Tynecastle and sit with 9 men behind the ball from the first minute, in a knock out cup tie. We were set up to take it to penalties from the outset. Go out and have a go for Gawds sake! That one was on Doolan today and there are signs that fans are beginning to lose patience, even this early on in the season. We are weak all over the park barring the full back positions. It’s going to be a slog this season!

Yip, we might have kept a few of our better players had we went up and maybe recruited better but on that display we would have been whipping boys in the top league.

Stanway can be forgiven but Bannigan has been like that for years. The trepidation shown by the fans when it was his turn for the penalty shows that the fans are seriously losing patience with him. Any pacy movement we have disappears completely when Bannigan gets the ball!
