  1. I agree with both of your points wholeheartedly; it's clear for most what he adds to the team and why he's in it. I'm not looking to dispute that whatsover. Where my concern lies is that we've created a barrowload of chances this season, and with that he's missed a considerable number of sitters too. Even the most optimistic of us on here would likely admit that even if we do well next year, we won't create as many as we do in League One, so being more clinical will become extra important. Probably important to highlight he's on 14 goals in the league which is a decent haul btw. But with that I've said in mind, you play a game in the Championship against one of the better sides and you might get one or two clear cut chances in a game; I'm not sure you put your money on him to finish them yet. You could argue what he brings to the team is more important than his goal tally, and that's an argument I'd have some sympathy with. But I don't think highlighting finishing is totally unfair, either. Edit to add: his game is obviously still improving all the time, so not outwith the question for him to become more clinical (I hope he does!). Just calling it as I've seen it this season.
  2. That's an incredibly, incredibly harsh take on MacIver above. I feel there's a legitimate conversation to be had as to whether he's clinical enough (I don't think he is) or whether he should be our starting striker in the Championship next season (I'm undecided on this), but he's played a significant role this year and done better than any of us expected.
  3. Maybe in the minority but I think I may go for Miller vs Accies. Went mental when that went in. After Hogarth had flung them a route back into it (I forgive you, Nicky), Falkirk teams of old would have crumbled but we went right up the park, said “f**k you” and went right back at them minutes later. Confirmation that day we would do it, for me. Was also right behind it and it was a fucking ARROW. Scenes.
  4. After the season we’ve had, it would probably have been quite an easy promise to renege on by saying “it’s been so good and to keep it going, we need to put up prices” and most people would have likely accepted that. The fact they’ve stuck to their promise no matter what is something I and I think other fans will take a great deal of stock and trust in. Sticking to your word means a lot. We’ll make up money by likely adding hundreds of season ticket holders next season anyway, plus merchandise, sponsorships and hospitality have been flying. If you want to pay more for your season ticket, you can. If not, you can support in other ways. Best of both worlds.
  5. Provided he’s not on too much money and on the basis he’d probably be going into next season as third choice as I think we’ll sign another striker, I’d keep Shanley. I think he’s got something about him and that will only improve with quality coaching.
  6. I’d be more worried about what was on the park. You’re absolutely fucking rotten.
  7. Word for Nesbitt by the way, I’ll be honest and say I’m not his biggest fan, but I thought he was absolutely superb today.
  8. Hamilton ‘don’t illegally chop Falkirk’s attacking players within 3 seconds of them getting the ball’ challenge (impossible)
  9. To be honest, I’m going today a) to continue backing the Champions and b) lord it over one of Scottish footballs chief diddy outfits who have been firing out with drivel all season - including yesterdays “I’d love it if we beat them” from Williamson (lol). Sing a few songs, have a good time. If we lose, I’ll probably be pissed off for a couple of hours, before being able to console myself with the fact we won the league before the clocks went forward. And the fact we’re not Hamilton.
  10. Who’s Ben Williamson, why is he going all Kevin Keegan in the press and why is “the most buzzing (he’s) ever been for a game” coming against a Falkirk side that have already romped to the title?
  11. Without meaning to sound all Old-Firmy about it, out of all the teams in the league that our title-winning game could have fell on for that money to go, I'm glad it was Montrose tbh. Good bunch of guys and a proper football club. Much rather them who got the financial boost than pub teams like Kelty or Highland League bankrolled artificials like Cove.
  12. As by far and away the highest scoring striker in the league, Burrell will quite rightly be in the team of the year. Every other position should probably be Falkirk players, but as others have said, doubt they'll do that in an attempt at balance.
  13. Would like to stress this isn't intended as a criticism (not like those attacking the spelling in newsletters etc lol), but more a bit surprised that the club have only put a singular tweet promoting tickets for Hamilton and it's Thursday evening. I get their focus is on selling out the stadium for Alloa - which it looks like we'll do - but, in my mind anyway, the biggest threat to our unbeaten run is Saturday and the team deserve a large backing, although I totally understand it's been a very expensive month. I also understand that the club will be rightly focussed on maximising their own income. Just thought that they'd have pushed it a little more than they have.
  14. Had that ready to go, eh https://www.rangers.co.uk/Article/club-statement-dundee-match-postponement-2024-04-10/1pZRDRxdOc1zY2sHgi83pO
  15. Wonder if they’ll add a PATG if sales keep at the level they’re at now. If they do, reckon we’d end up at about 1,500-1,600 or so, which would be very decent considering it’s our fourth 17:30 KO in 5 weeks (three of which have been away) and the league is won.
  16. On the topic of cashing in when the going is good, I used to like when we'd play in our new home top for next season during the last home game. Would like to see that being brought back and if it's on par with this years top it would fly off the shelves and bring in a good chunk of early money ahead of next season.
  17. I thought VAR was supposed to root out stuff like that?
