  1. Maybe in the minority but I think he’s been signed to be No.1. 85 appearances at Championship level so he’s pretty experienced - played 21 league games for Thistle last season as they finished 3rd. I think he’s in ahead of Hogarth tbh, at least initially.
  2. Paul Hanlon would start for us this season and it’s not even a debate tbh. I get we’ve just had a cracking season and we deserve to be on a high and I hate being a fun sponge, but I do think a couple of folk need to dial it down a wee bit. The league is wide open, should be a cracker and we should more than hold our own, but it is a totally different kettle of fish to the division we’ve just been promoted out of.
  3. Morton fans still dining out on the McKinnon thing 6 years later Of all the embarrassments to happen to us over the last few years, the McKinnon saga probably lands on the minor end of the spectrum, lads. But don’t worry, we’re back now. I’d ask if you have nothing else to contribute, but given, in our absence, your apex has been the dizzying heights of 5th in the Scottish Championship, I’d wager not.
  4. That podcast with Jamie Swinney is at times interesting but moreso a painful listen. Ewan Cameron is an absolute buffoon.
  5. I know some of it’s for patter and it is amusing how easily fans of other clubs are worked up by the ‘big team’ stuff(clue: a lot of us do it because it always gets bites lol), but I’d agree we should be entering this season with both quiet optimism and humbleness. Our squad was absolutely superb last year and have rightly gone down in the history books. This means we should be entering the season looking to make our mark. But there’s also a lot of unknowns, namely the quality of sides we’ll be up against with other clubs likely to be making more signings than us and also how our squad will adapt to playing in the Championship every week. It’s one thing papping a Championship club out of the cup in a one-off game, that’s far different to playing these sides week in week out. I know we’re Falkirk in the Championship etc and we shouldn’t be afraid of anyone and that’s correct, we shouldn’t be; maybe just a bit of realism for where we are and where we’ve been. I hope we’ll go onto have a very successful season and we may well do, but I won’t be going making any predictions of us romping to 2nd or 3rd, especially given how unpredictable and tight this league is.
  6. Grangemouth and three stands usually comes as a pair too! I’m sure everyone is getting back up to speed.
  7. Heartwarming to see how much we’ve been missed.
  8. Can’t be far off maybe getting 1-2 more signings than first thought with sales like that.
  9. Shocked we’ve sold so many tickets when there has never been a good game on astro.
  10. Apparently we get Buckie away which I'm already buzzing for. Source:
  11. Premier Sports League Cup Group B: Dundee United Ayr United Falkirk Stenhousemuir Buckie Thistle
  12. Stenny in our league cup group... wonder if that friendly might be getting binned...
  13. I like Amarillo, if for nothing else than the countless opposition fans who complain it irritates the f**k out of them. Worth keeping for that alone imo.
  14. Rare SPFL win: Should still be no B teams obviously, but I wonder if getting 2/3’s of the prize money we got for winning League One might see some teams take it more seriously.
  15. I can’t quite verbalise why, but that looks like the most Scottish Championship of Scottish Championship’s ever.
  16. Pitch invasion and t-shirt campaign to get pumped and stay down
  17. I’ve only seen that Corr two or three times and every single one he’s looked like he’s discovering football for the first time.
  18. It’s the consistency though. Most people know that’s not a deliberate handball, but anyone who watches the Scottish Premiership sees refs have been giving penalties for exactly the same as that on a weekly basis.
  19. Also, I thought one of the points of a 42 team organisation was to ensure collective decision-making. The current top 12 are transient - we’ve all seen how fast clubs league positioning can move. A handful of clubs voting for this now could be in the Championship by the time this is implemented. Why the closed shop? (we know why, but it should be getting called out more).
  20. As others have said, if the bigot brothers didn't continually bottle it against teams who happen to play on astro pitches, this would be a non-issue. I see the "peepul get injured on them mor!!" argument has slyly been dropped by advocates of banning them, as that was exposed as being patently bullshit. It's also being amplified by slavers in our media as well, who often start statements like "we all know there shouldn't be artificial pitches in the top league". Do we? Says who? On what basis? International football teams can play on them; it meets standards for the UEFA Champions League, but it's not good enough for Kilmarnock vs St Mirren. Laughable.
  21. Such a typical Scottish football response to the entire issue. Instead of having a proper discussion about it; the pros and cons, the benefits to the community, why clubs would choose to have a plastic vs. grass pitch, the cost of moving from artificial to grass upon potential promotion; perhaps the implemention of higher minimum standards for any artificial pitches being laid - let's just ban them full stop. It'll pass and it's a joke.
  22. Two separate, but also related, questions. When is GTF day? Looking forward to changing my bookmarks back from League One to the Championship forum. Any idea roughly when the new strip is out? Looking forward to lobbing more of my money at O’Neills next sexy effort. Thanks x
  23. It actually just shows you the importance of being in the Championship, minimum. Dunfermline’s prize money being just short of double ours for finishing 6th. That’s pretty stark.
