Watching “Stable” the McGuigan documentary on BBC. Decent insight into the day to day running of a top flight boxing gym. Gives a glimmer of insight into what went on, in the background, with Frampton & Taylor.

Think the most tragic example was John Lambie. 11 years & 200+ games, before moving onto play in Europe with St Johnstone. Won the 1st division with 2 different clubs; & by a veritable street from Falkirk, with Accies, in 86. He actually left a safe job to come to Brockville because he wanted the gig! Right man at, most certainly, the wrong time. Doomed, from the minute the fans told Fulston they didn’t want him.

The first half was memorable only for MacIver’s miss. That it took an hour for Falkirk to make changes, & get their finger out, including offside + pen decisions turning the game in their favour. It was looking like pushing the finishing line, back by a week, to Cove at home! Two fine finishes, from Henderson & Nesbitt, put a thick sheen of gloss, on edging a game where the score line flattered, when it was extremely close for an hour.

Caught the end of the Heaney fight. Looked desperately close & understand that it was a fight of two halves.

Glad I caught the end of the Joyce fight. Meant I didn’t have to watch the whole lot back.

The match officials called it as such. Those at the game would have had their opinion, right or wrong, on it. I watched on TV & thought it debatable, then with the benefit of replays, at the game end, could see it was a dive.

I thought Pogi should have gone on the Cipressa. UAE got caught out of position at the bottom & once Del Toro was spent he should have gone for it. His power output & ITT ability, allied to his Strade Bianchi form, would have put him in with a better chance of the win than getting involved in trying to outgun the current form sprinter. It may also have caught MvDP out on his season debut on the road. As it was the WC ended up working for his team mate & Alpacin took the win.

Go on then who are? I don’t own shares in them. I only pay to watch. It’s called being a customer. It’s like saying Tesco (or any other supermarket) are ‘mine’, because I decide to shop there, or Scottish Power (or any other energy provider) are ‘mine’, because I get electricity or gas from them. I like going to gigs, but none of the bands I like are ‘mine’. The penny dropped for me when Back the Bairns were rattling buckets & those shareholders (who DID own the club) WOULDN’T put their hands in their pockets to cover their share of the debt. We’ll carry on lying to yourself. Who am I to stop you.
