  1. As much as I'd probably happily call you a c**t and that, I see it the same way now. And I'm gutted.
  2. If Rangers fans had accepted their club had died the first time, it wouldn't be about to die again. Lovely!
  3. I think Pogba knocked back a new contract in search of more first-team football.
  4. Thinking about East Fife for the league. What do you guys reckon?
  5. Moffat is on at least £700 per week at Dunfermline. He was on around £600 per week at Ayr with his two jobs, and has more than doubled his footballing wage with his move. Obviously the Ayr Chairman is fully aware of all the figures involved.
  6. Aye but he's having to put his own money in to keep the club alive, as a shitey mid-table third-tier part-time outfit. He's not buying success is he? That's his point. If he stops paying that money Ayr go out of business, as Somerset costs a lot of money to maintain. He's had the club up for sale for about four years, but nobody is interested in taking it off his hands. He doesn't even live in Scotland any more! That said, I don't think he required to make those comments and I'd prefer if they were removed from the statement.
  7. I don't think people have been too hysterical in their views on Dunfermline signing players (as I said earlier I don't have an issue with it personally), and I didn't actually think the Old-Firm-style-signing comments were actually a crticism and they are pretty valid as far as I can see. For Dunfermline to strengthen by signing, arguably, the best four players form, arguably, their four biggest rivals is an astute approach.
  8. You know that's not really the point being made, though, don't you. For what it's worth I think Dunfermline do have the resources to make these signings, but some people will feel that the debt has been shed too easily and a sporting advantage has been created as a result.
  9. Let's face it, it's ultimately been a bit of a failure on the park in Pars not being promoted this season and, if you take finances into account, it's a total disaster off it. I don't know why people never take into account new signings when considering how well a team would do in the league above. Dunfermline would probably have full houses against Rangers, Hearts and Hibs next season and maybe even close to that for games with Falkirk and Raith. It was mentioned by your chairman that failure to gain promotion has cost you in the region of £1/2m which has probably increased with Hibs going down. Your budget would have been able to pish all over the likes of Dumbarton, Alloa, Livi and QoS and would have been bigger than Raith and maybe even Falkirk. No reason why Dunfermline couldn't have built a squad to challenge for the play-offs whilst comfortably living within their means. It's an opportunity missed, without doubt, in every department and a bit of a shame from Dunfermline's point of view.
  10. Obviously, as the all time head-to-head record demonstrates. Oh no, wait...
  11. Clearly a guy on the decline - Juniors in eighteen months
  12. Yeah but that is largely the problem. Clubs are still spending more than they can they can afford though. The market has been inflated for quite a while now, on account of clubs having to outbid each other on full-time wages. Clubs will eventually stop paying players more than they can afford, and more than the players are worth. You're not going to continue to live out-with your means on guys who are not worth it, who already get a full-time wage away from football.
