Naismith is going to have to field a different team or formation to take something from these games against Rangers. That is 4 in a row he has lost to them and the results are not getting worse. Clement has him sussed.

The starting line-up is similar to the team we started with in the previous 3 games v Rangers.
In October we started with Sibbick and Offiah but today we have Kingsley and Atkinson instead
In November we started with Sibbick, now we have Atkinson
In December we started with Tagawa but now we start with Vargas

Is it now time for Gordon to be back in the team. Should we start with 3 at the back then return to a back 4 and open up when we feel like the time is right, bring on the wingers. Release the hounds.

I’m counting 10 games we failed to win. Celtic failed to win 7 and Rangers 5. Win the next 3 and we are competing for a Champions League spot.
Yes. I know we can lose the next 3 but looking down at where Hibs are and comparing ourselves to them, I am not interested in doing that just now because I am looking up to see who we can catch.

It’s okay, it’s like a handicap system . The weaker teams get a little bit of help to make the competition fairer.

Lazy defending by Hearts at the Airdrie goal but Frizzell took it well.

Looking at the league table and Airdrie seem to have a decent defence but they need to score more goals if they want to win games.
I will go for 2-0 to Hearts, both goals coming in the 2nd half. Forrest and Shankland.

I think I'd bring Halkett on and tell Lembikisa he doesn't have to defend just get forward and put balls in the box. Take Vargas off.

You see defenders in the big competitions on tv and they try to tackle with their arms behind their back when the ball is in the box.
I think Hearts players should start doing the same as this so as to be on the safe side and not give the ref/VAR a decision to make.

For the manager. Will Halkett be back in the team or keep him out for another week and play 4 at the back. I think that's the biggest decision he has to make because we were losing quite a few goals with him in the team. That's what I'll be looking to see when the team is picked.

Two big games coming up in midweek. Games that might have a big say in how the rest of the season goes for a couple of clubs.
Martindale will have to leave if he loses to Ross County. Docherty will have to leave if he loses to Aberdeen.

We have plenty players to chose from a Naismith utilises the squad very well. The players are comfortable playing different formations.
We sometimes play with 3 at the back/ an extra centre half, we are more solid, don't concede many goals but don't create/score many goals.
We sometimes play with a back 4, we are more open, score more goals but concede more.
Against Rangers we have went from losing 2-1, 1-0 to losing 3-1, 5-0. I think it was right to start with a back 3 but now I think we need to try something different when we next play Rangers.
