  1. Comfortable win in the end. We never really got out of second gear, if we’re being honest. Played some good football at points, but also got caught out losing focus at times. Alloa never really looked like troubling us and Mehmet had nothing to do. KRH man of the match. He looked really good and caused them problems all game. Hamilton had a very good game too and thought Mochrie played well. We looked like a team that have a big game in a few days and didn’t really want to do more than we had to do.
  2. As most of the above, very strong start. Could have been 2/3 up early. Comrie’s injury looked a really bad one. Really hope it’s not as bad as it looks. He’d started the game really well too, linking up well with KRH. Struggled after he went off. Strange decision to put Otoo at RCB, when he doesn’t have a right foot. But McPake sorted that and we settled down a bit again. Good set piece to get the goal, could have been anyone but looked like Breen. Think Mochrie and KRH been excellent so far. Hamilton also having a great game in midfield. Wighton looks in a fair bit of pain, I’d get him off now rather than making things worse.
  3. Edwards and Todorov both missing from the squad today. Hopefully nothing serious with either of them.
  4. Worth remembering that there a few Falkirk weirdos on here that were adamant we couldn’t possibly have planned that corner routine/worked on it in training.
  5. It’s clear that the data is saying we have an easier run in than anyone else because we don’t have to play Dunfermline. Falkirk’s difficulty of run-in can only be so high because they have to play us twice. Other than that, we’re playing the same teams. Interesting that, according to that data, we have the easiest run-in in the league despite having to play Falkirk twice…
  6. Yeah. First half at East End, you were very good. The other 135 minutes against us, not so much. Having said that, from what fans of other clubs have said, you seem to win with a bit more ‘style’ than us at the moment. It does sound like things are starting to come together for you guys. If I’m being honest, I’d be fine with a draw. I think that would suit us more than it would suit you and would leave things firmly in our own hands. However, I absolutely want to win this and give ourselves a big cushion and damage Falkirk’s hopes/momentum a bit. I don’t care about style of play or anything this season, I just want to get out of this division as quickly as possible.
  7. Nah. If the game’s off, it should just be declared a 0-0 draw. Probably better than us having to sit through the 0-0 draw that will happen if the game goes ahead. Would save us from watching Falkirk pass it about the back for a few mins, before an aimless punt forward every time they get the ball.
  8. Anyone know if we’ve sorted the USH? Very cold weather forecast for Sunday/Monday/Tuesday nights, along with snow during the day on Monday…
  9. Not seen much of him. But he’s young and seems very highly rated. I believe he can play anywhere in behind the striker. Can be out wide or as a 10. Very energetic and likes to get forward. Hopefully he does well for you and comes back a better player.
  10. Agree with this. Nobody’s trying to claim we were brilliant that day. For a neutral, it would have been a brutal watch. But Falkirk had so much meaningless possession and no obvious plan to create chances/score goals. First game at East End, Falkirk were much better than us first half and could have been 2/3 up at HT. Second half, we were the better team and deserved our goal. Was probably a game both sets of fans will think they could/should have won with the chances created. Expecting next Tuesday to be a very different game. A draw wouldn’t surprise me, but a win for either team would see momentum shift massively in their favour.
  11. That’s why I asked the question. I am well aware that highlights don’t show the full picture. Which is exactly why I asked if he was as bad as he looked. All you see of him in the highlights is him chasing shadows and being caught out of position. So I asked a question, which I still don’t think was unreasonable. Genuinely glad to hear he wasn’t bad at all. I liked him in his short spell with us and was just curious.
  12. Wasn’t at the game, so only going off the highlights. Why was Josh Todd marking Benedictus? The guy looked like he had no idea what he was doing when trying to track his man. Also, was Harry Cochrane as dreadful as he looked in the highlights? Seemed like Mochrie was running rings around him all day. Highlights seemed like he was trying to man-mark Mochrie, but seemed to be several times he lost his man so easily and just didn’t look at the races at all. Doesn’t feel like long ago that he was considered a really bright young talent, playing regularly in the top flight. Now he seems to be struggling at this level. From a Pars perspective, looked like a couple of good passages of play. But a typical ‘professional’ performance. We’re tough to break down and trust our attacking players to have the quality to break down the opposition. KRH looked good in the highlights. Seemed to link up well with Comrie too.
  13. Sounds like there’s more to it. Club saying they’ll announce “full schedule of events” and full information on “ticketing and supplementary events”.
  14. 12 games left and we’re 5 points clear. If Falkirk average 2.5 points per game - which would be incredible form over 12 games, we would need 26 points from 12 games. For me, that’s a worst case scenario. That would involve Falkirk dropping just 6 points in 12 games. Without doubt, the head to head fixtures are important. But if we can avoid defeat in both (or even just win one of them), then I can’t see us losing the title. Lose both games though, or let Falkirk take 4 points from the 2 games and it’s all about who picks up most points in the 10 other remaining games.
  15. Never really liked McGowan. His legal issues are a big red flag for me. But I’m sure he’ll come in and do a job. Adds experience to the midfield, which we needed.
  16. Doubt anyone’s surprised that we made a loss last season. But a loss of over £500k is concerning. Specific mention in the ‘Chairman’s Statement’ section of our annual accounts of Rosyth and our desire to get everything sorted there and start construction as soon as possible.
  17. Not seen his interview. Does he seriously claim it’s not a penalty? I understand he’s obviously looking at it from an Airdrie perspective, but to argue that’s not a penalty is just daft. Keeper gets nowhere near the ball and clearly catches Wighton. Did Wighton make the most of it? Absolutely. But there was a clear foul and the keeper/Airdrie can have no complaints about the decision.
  18. Yeah. I thought the ref got the triple booking right. Regarding the header, to be honest, others will have had a better view than me. But I did think that it must have been close, but I didn’t think it had gone in. Was between the keeper and the goal, but he looked about a yard or so off his line and was able to reach back and get it.
  19. He grabbed the ball and stopped the players getting it, in an attempt to delay the restart. Usually goes unpunished, but most keepers also release the ball without much fight, rather than throwing himself into the net clutching onto it as if his life depends on it. If you’re that obvious about it, you can’t complain about the yellow. He’d also just been warned about time wasting.
  20. He’d scored one in a row. He’s now missed 2 of his last 3. Having said that, for some reason I just had a feeling he wasn’t scoring. The long delay, he didn’t look as confident as usual and Hutton probably feels he has something to prove at East End, since he’s regarded as one of our worst keepers in recent times.
  21. Josh Rae had another very good game today, I thought. But that’s 2 weeks in a row he picked up a stupid first booking, then made a big error that should have been a second yellow last week and got one this week. Genuine question, is he that reckless every week? No doubting his ability, but he can’t be risking red cards every week.
  22. You know it was 1-1 before the red card, and we were on top by that point? Honestly, Airdrie fans like to make up some nonsense. The red card didn’t benefit us at all and actually hinders our title bid.
  23. I’d have accepted that after an hour. But you’ve played us 3 times, got a total of 0 wins. Thrown away a 3 goal lead to us last week and were lucky to get a point in the end today. We may be pish. But at least we’re not as pish as Airdrie!
  24. Draw probably fair on the balance of play. But that’s 2 points dropped. We should have won that. Once again, Airdrie the better team for the first hour or so. McCann and Todorov completely changed the game and Airdrie couldn’t cope with them. Once we equalised, we should have gone onto win. Keeper getting sent off should have sealed that. Not sure what the defender was doing trying to play it back like that. Good awareness from Wighton to run into the ball though. Not much keeper could have done, but an obvious second booking. Then Benedictus hits a penalty that’s the ideal height/placement for a keeper. It’s David Hutton, put it in a corner and he can’t get there. He nearly spilled two other harmless shots into his net. Falkirk will cruise to victory next week against him. That referee was horrendous. Understood the frustration from both benches/sets of fans. Missed glaringly obvious things and gave lots of fouls/throw ins for the wrong team. It’s never a good sign when both benches have coaches carded for abusing him. He looked young/inexperienced. Hopefully he’s not back at this level until he’s ready.
  25. Can definitely understand the thinking behind that lineup. Switched to back 4, which makes sense. Midfield full of players that will be able to offer options for the defenders. Reckon Mochrie, KRH and Todd will all come deep for the ball (as well as Hamilton), so take pressure off defenders when Airdrie press high - that was an issue last week. Airdrie’s defence couldn’t cope when we ran at them. Likewise, their midfield didn’t track runners. So Mahon, Todd, Mochrie and KRH running at them all game makes sense too.
