I can remember Somerset Park hosting a couple of semis. Went to Talbot v Ladeside in 86 or 87 and Buffs v Largs in the early 90s.

To put this in perspective, Caersws is about the size of Muirkirk & Tywyn is probably about Maybole sized. Caersws, incidentally, have played in a UEFA Tournament & have been in the Top League down here. Tywyn is similar in population size to Auchinleck. Maybole is wee bit bigger.

I don't say this very often, but to be fair to the SJFA they probably don't have many options. Most grass pitches will likely be unavailable by 31 May and the possibility of grounds being required for the SPFL play-offs prior to then might be another issue.

I'm not sure Muirhead's suspension is over, since the game was abandoned. We'll know soon enough.
