  1. Are you the guy Zicoromaines on fantalk that just got banned for homophobic, racist and abusive language towards others? Saddo
  2. For our club to sell Vaughan right now for a pittance would be madness on so many levels. Promotion back to Championship at 1st attempt would be worth so much more financially than anything we are likely to be offered right now by vultures like Dundee or Kilmarnock. Sure, we could be promoted without him but losing him seriously handicaps us. Unless a 'can't refuse' offer comes in, I would like to think our club puts the fans and chance of success before a few pieces of silver which will change very little in the grand scheme. What is 'can't refuse'? For me it would have to be close to 100k + sell on clause. At least this would give us room to replace him whether new signings and/or help fund loan players' wages.
  3. Mind put your alcohol in an irn bru bottle on supporters bus as opposed to putting your 80%proof whiskey in a buck fast bottle on ff bus
  4. I travelled with Fifes Finest for a couple of seasons around 8-10 years ago and it's harsh to tarnish everyone with the same brush, some very nice and sound people. Unfortunate that several are fannies that let the rest and mostly the club down. Very cliquey (if that's a word) and turning a blind eye to the nonsense is the biggest problem, mind that each empty seat on bus means rest each pay more! Same time, some of the goody goody stuff I read on places like here, Fantalk etc make out the rest of our fans to be saints. Not true by a long shot. Come on though, we are watching football each week, not snooker. Whether right or wrong, football around the globe is attended by passionate people who sometimes shout, sometimes swear, many drink too much alcohol, sometimes abuse or insult opposing fans/players...even their own players. It has been that way at Starks since I starting going in the early 80's and will be the same once we are all gone. I would say in general our fan base is pretty knowledgeable about the game and behave okay, feel sorry for some of you poor saps, you should be grateful with what you have and that you don't support a side with hundreds/thousands of 'arseholes' spouting pish and causing trouble week in week out!
  5. On the fence myself, would be great if we could get someone in who is an upgrade on McHattie however he isn't as bad as some are making out. He should indeed be good enough for 'this level', if there are no better options then dont mind us chucking him a one year contact, with any luck our wee left back could challenge him for place as the season progresses... I would actually be more concerned with other side, if we get the JT that rampages up and down the flank while defending solidly then great but if we get the JT that returned from injury 2nd half of last season then we are in trouble, he looked a mile off the pace, really hope it was niggling fitness issues that have since disappeared
  6. Funny that I got lambasted for calling M'Voto a big haddie several months ago by plenty people. Our fan base then unanimously voted said player as our PotY. A nightmare against Brechin and signing for Pars later and everyone has changed opinion! Way I look at it, were we to play Dunfermline competitively this season, would I want M'Voto to be playing against us? Yes. Would I look forward to facing McManus in a team where he isn't isolated and starved of decent service? No.
  7. Ignoring who might be bidding, what sum would make you think "ah well, not bad bit of business"?
  8. So, considering Vaughan has a year left to run... let's just say he has no intention of staying after that, what do people think would be a fair/decent price for him this summer? Personally, would be disappointed if he left for any less than 100k. Our board will be looking to curb the shortfall in cash from their season long f**k ups but I really hope they don't roll over and get their bellies tickled like usual...
  9. All I seem to read over and over is our fans calling for ex players to return, all well and good if the fit is right but at same time it is really easy to judge them on familiarity basis but for each one there are many players of similar status playing elsewhere that you just haven't seen play very much with your own eyes if at all. For what it's worth I think Anderson would of/would make a cracking wing back. Maybe something he will consider now he is getting on a bit in footballing terms
  10. They way Locke set our club back 10 years in the space of 6months makes him a c**t to me. I very rarely boo past players or management but he totally deserves it in my book
  11. Cuthbert in goal, Bene and a fit Barr in middle of defence, Mathews in middle, B Barr out wide, Vaughan playing off the front. These are who we should be keeping and building around, strong foundation for a league one team. The board owe the fans at least one year of throwing everything possible at a quick return after what they have done to us. A fully functioning Stewart would tear up League One but is only close to fitness about one every four games, liability. There is obviously a player in Callachan but we see it about once or twice every ten games, wouldn't be much of loss on that basis. Rest can bolt, JT looks finished, Davo IS finished, McHattie not good enough, Roberts not even good. MVoto is a diddy (his defending today was awful) CJ lightweight and flatters to deceive. Anyone left? Outwith Hardie the loans have been pish, Skacel was finished about 6 year ago, Robertson? Why the f**k did we give him a contact anyway? Injured or not he is past it. Im away to tan a litre of vodka and hopefully be dead to world in next hour or two, try to take the pain away
  12. Only time I remember seeing David Wann on a match day was on the pitch at HT collecting his 50/50 prizes Still waiting on reply to two emails from him, one direct and one forwarded to him by club on my behalf, two or three years now? Guy must be mega busy
  13. Yeah, certainly a gamble but football is full of them 1st time round was different circumstances with it being a loan to lower league for a player with high expectations, we saw recently with Barrie McKay that players don't always respond well to being loaned out. On the whole I didn't think he was too bad, don't think I was at the Peterhead game you mention mind! There is always the chance he would be determined to take his last chance at ft football now that dreams of International and English Premier league are gone?
  14. Would people be happy if we took Goodwillie back should the chance arise? His career reminds me of Garry O'Connor's, wasted talent, always seems to be in trouble with law but if he retains his ability and screwed the nut I would be fine with it. I'm presuming if some of our fans wouldn't mind a manager that gives oral sex to homeless men providing we win games then they wouldn't mind a player accused of sexual assault and found guilty through civil courts ruling based on chance and probability as opposed to proof or evidence being here so longs he scored goals?
  15. Hardly a battle if he stays, we would be lucky to pick up another 3 or 4 points all season meaning only battle would be us and St Mirren for bottom two places.
  16. Tired? What better opportunity to use the large squad at his disposal against Dumbarton, no.... he sticks with the same guys who have been dire for weeks except this time they were dire AND tired. Poor wee souls having to play football for 120mins 3 days before another game
  17. Yaw Osei and Joel Coustrain out John Colquhoun and Eamonn Bannon in
  18. Scary that it's a whole 3 months since we won a game of football, even that was an undeserved one v a seriously struggling QoS. I am hopeful that if our performance levels don't rise considerably and we fail to win either of our next two matches then Locke will walk. If he doesn't, our board need to grow a pair and get shot. They hired him, they gambled with the cheap option of a guy with 'fail' all over his managerial CV so they need to take the hit and do what is best for our club. The way things are right now, it isn't inconceivable that we are caught by St Mirren! Still have them twice and currently 12pts in front.
  19. The two games v Hearts (despite them being below par) has proven our players are capable. Scottish Cup games at Tynecastle are easy to 'get up for'. A team of full time professionals should be putting the same effort and commitment into the bread and butter league games. They played at a high intensity for 120mins, is it to much to ask for the same for 90mins v a part time team that might struggle to live with the pace? I don't think so and it is up to Locke to get the right team picked to play the right way at a higher tempo than of late in the league. Our squad is big, our players are full time athletes, I don't want to hear one single thing about 'weary legs' caused by a game played on the Wednesday. Its not totally impossible that we have had a horrible sticky patch that we can come out of and still finish top four. It is also possible that we continue as we have done and end up in a relegation battle. The result of this game v Dumbarton could be a serious pointer in either direction. i think we are good enough to win it comfortably, I think we SHOULD win the game, if we don't then Locke should be under serious pressure, a glorious failure in cup is nowhere near enough to gloss over our recent league form
  20. Which other clubs tried to sign him? All I can remember was talk of an informal enquiry from Ross County? I think? a couple of years ago. I get frustrated that every now and then he plays a 90mins in which he looks every bit the complete midfield player yet more often than not he struggles, making the simple look difficult at times. He is old enough and has enough 1st team experience that the good old 'still young, still learning the trade' suggestions are almost non feasible.
  21. If that is aimed at me then at no point have I lapped up our result with Ross County. Both ARE good results but let's not kid ourselves.... Most teams aren't out of pre season mode, neither game was a s*****ht knockout, Kilmarnock were trying to bed in an almost entirely new 1st eleven. We will face a tougher game at Ayr than we did up there I've no doubt *edited to ask why s t r a i g h t is a swear word?!
  22. Think the Morton result was more to do with Killie's ineptitude than Morton's brilliance. I agree with others that the teams around us have done little so far in the market to worry us. QoS look much of a muchness to last season, Morton are miles behind with time ticking away, Falkirk aren't having a great time of it, two of their best players from last season away, vultures are still circling for Sibbald and Leahy apparently too. Would expect us to finish above Dumbarton, Ayr, QoS and Morton, Dunfermline a bit of an unknown quantity but nothing to really fear while I would like to think we will compete with the rest for top placings. Dundee Utd might well do a 'St Mirren' first season down while Saints themselves are nothing to fear. I expect Hibs to win league. I see no reason we can't fight it out for the other 3 play off places. very happy with squad we have built, just now down to the management to get the best out of them
  23. All except Ross Callachan who you clearly have a stauner for
  24. Learn to pass better, choose the correct option more often when doing so, learn how to hit the target with a much higher percentage of shots and he will become a very good player. Hopefully he is still learning and will improve. To me he is a good solid player but has potential to be so much better
