Fans at this level (especially those from Talbot by the way) are notorious for being critical of artificially funded clubs but Gartcairn seem to escape most of the attention. Compare the jibes directed towards Johnstone Burgh and Darvel (and previously Irvine Meadow, Hurlford, Kilwinning, Bathgate etc) to the relative silence towards Gartcairn. At least it was mostly clear who was funding those clubs whereas all we've been told about Gartcairn is that the funders are a bunch of like-minded businessman in some sort of jolly business venture, investing in a club with no fans, while Airdrie and multiple other pre-existing clubs are a short distance away, all of  whom would have welcomed the cash injection.

They are warping the financial landscape at this level just as much as those other clubs but there is a curious lack of conversation here about it. Maybe the source of the finances is legitimate but it rings alarm bells for me.

In all seriousness I have no idea why anyone would chuck money into Gartcairn. I think they've just sort of gotten on with it rather than court the media for attention so they won't be on your average fan's radar like Darvel and JB.

McDowall is going to grow the crowds in the West but he can’t get anyone to go and watch Gartcairn despite spending ridiculous amounts of money on players?

Sounds like you're having a pop at a progressive and ambitious club who are just trying to do their best there or are Gartcairn now part of the Junior Illuminati as well?

Surely that 60/40 issue leaves the SJFA massively open to suggestions that they stand to benefit directly from certain big teams getting to certain rounds of their competition? And operate at a loss if clubs with considerably smaller fan bases do.

It's not much of an accusation unless you're implying that they are somehow manipulating the draw to ensure big teams get to the business end

I have just read this full 23 pages and as a complete outsider who only goes to Dunfermline games, but works with lots of people involved in EoS and LL I am not surprised that the rest of football think the WoS have a arrogance insular attitude.

The suggestion that this isn’t a massive conflict of interest just shows how backwards certain clubs are, definitely looks like the big Ayrshire clubs are bitter that football has moved on. Some of there fans have come across as arrogant c***s who feel free to denounce the opinion of anyone that doesn’t fit there agenda.

Funny thing is these teams think themselves better than Linlithgow, Bo’ness but are shitting the bed to move up

If you're allowing the content of this shit show of a thread to influence your opinion then it doesn't say much for your capability of critical thought.

I was down on Sunday to pick up my tickets I had ordered and was told there’s over 900 away before the first leg which I thought wasn’t bad. Wasn’t many people about right enough but presuming cause of the old firm?

900 for the Darvel end? Not bad if true.

I know (think) Talbot ended up with 600 full price and 300 concessions. No idea how they're selling.

CEO of the SJFA is nomintated for the role of Chairman of the WoSFL. Not only a conflict of interest but a very unusual move, undelined by the change in WoSFL rules to allow it to happen - ie board members can't be associated with any other association, apart from the SJFA.

Then there is talk of a proposal to make the SCC entry non-compulsory for WoS clubs with the Junior Cup taking precedence. Coincidence?

In light of that, it's reasonable to form an opinion that some people/clubs wouldn't be averse to rolling back the years in the west, and that this could be a first step.

Whether any of it happens remains to be seen of course, but it's all very......odd.

Have we even established whether he holds a position with a WoSFL club to even be a board member to begin with?

It sounds like ifs buts and mibbies are doing a lot of heavy lifting here but cheers for a normal reply.

I think the guy should be chased if half the conjecture posted on this thread about him is true.

We're only talking one guy here though so how much influence does he actually have? I have no clue how the power structure is set up but have presumed up to now that he's one blazer among many and probably something of an outlier in the grand scheme of things.

You never responded about the comments of the post expect for being personal again, thats all you do

Last time you said it was lies, because I said it then others came out with posts from other posts, other apps  from comments he made but I'm the one making it up lolol

I said, the man in question said to me and others that, 'The pyramid is dead, The only real cup is the Junior cup and the SCC is weak/nonsense' and the reasoning behind it was false and trumpt up which I challenged him on it, in front of the others which he flapped.
I've no reason to make it up, all other accusations and proofs of other, similar things he has said is there for you to see from other posts on here and suppose it backs what I've said up but I don't need backed up as I was there listening to what he was saying to me and others.  I will say that he did not say to me or the others, 'I want teams to revert back to the juniors', there was no mention /  comments of any kind regarding that.  His comments were about the Pyramid, the Scottish junior cup and the Scottish Challenge Cup..

I think you've just wore me down.

    I also think you're a complete fantasist.

Not my fault this loonball makes a fool of you many times over and thus you dislike me that much to try and put down whenever you can, especially when it goes against your narrative, that's your prerogative as you usually need your pals to lick your arse, opps i mean wounds for backing 😷

A lot of words wasted (some were even in English) if you don't care what I think. The loonball protesteth too much.

If I read that comment on Facebook, i'd probably take it as a tongue in cheek comment and not as the first marks of a dictatorship

I didn't want to say that originally as I'd be accused of being an appologist for him but you have to consider that was a possibility.

  10. A Facebook post isn't exactly the smoking gun I was anticipating but its something I suppose. It's hardly a manifesto for change is it?

An explanation of how this amounts to Junior Takeover or any of the other pearl clutching shite that has been mooted on this thread would be great.

  11. 10 minutes ago, Vanderbilt said:

A guy who openly stated he wanted to “change it back” to the Juniors is pretty factual I’d have thought.

Your club are one of his proposers.

Was that one of the quotes that we were expected to take the word of the sliced bread loonball about? I'm not saying he didn't say it but I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a higher standard of verification than that and maybe even a wee bit of context. You prefer to obfuscate though so we're unlikely to get anywhere with that.

Whether Talbot proposed it or not doesn't really make a difference to my opinion and I'm certainly not included in any of the decisions or juicy bits of information. My opinion is my own and is open to change based on new information or compelling arguments. That is why it's not moved an inch when talking to yourself.

Not sure it's batshit mental to point out the possibility of ulterior motives at play should the CEO of the SJFA also become Chairman of the WoSFL.

If course it's not but the thread started off on a hysterical footing ("Junior Takeover" no less) and only got more absurd as it went on.

I'd be genuinely interested in facts but what we've had is a slew of made up quotes, fevered paranoid ramblings, and vague innuendo, all delivered with a liberal seasoning of petted lips and red dots.

There's no point in trying to have a good faith discussion when that's what you're faced with.

I'm very much pro-pyramid but what this place has is a zealot fringe who just stamp their wee feet whenever there's any sort of deviation from their agenda. It's a debate that has long since died on its arse due to folk losing perspective of balance and reality due to their increasingly entrenched positions.
