Without doubt he's worth more than 50k considering the value of other players on the market (just take a look at the amount Falkirk got for a couple of losers who are now rotting away in England). But with or without him, it was always going to be very difficult for Morton to win the league, probably moreso than last year considering the loss of other good players. In short, 50k is better than nothing, especially seeing as this is shaping up as a nothing season for Morton. They were never in a strong position to bargain for much more.
