  1. You're taking results over a generation. Who won the UEFA Cup in 2002 is hardly relevant to today. Looking at European results also ignores are majority of clubs in those divisions. For those four or so players you picked as examples you could just as easily choose a different four as evidence to the contrary. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that you've not really convinced me at all.
  2. I imagine many of those shouting abuse at young men whose main crime is to be selected for Clyde find the idea of a day off spent with their spouse even worse than watching the slow demise of the club they once loved.
  3. No, because the fans chased the charlatan responsible for all of that (and much worse) from the club, of which I think we can be justifiably proud. But you knew that already.
  4. Just in case anyone's not noticed, Sudan is pretty fucked.
  5. My preferences for a League 2 spot next season, in order from most to least welcome: Buckie (think it'd be good for Elgin to have a derby and it'd be a new away day) Brechin (it'd be healthy to see a relegated team come up again, even if it was only because they didn't get their own way and were put in the Highland League) Banks o'Dee (three Aberdeen teams is probably a bit much, and the stadium is a bit shite, but I'd be okay with it) Clyde (despite the homelessness, the Goodwillie shame and some of their support, I don't actually wish them ill, there are just other clubs I'd rather have in the SPFL) ... almost any other club on the planet ... East Kilbride.
  6. I used to like Kai as a name when it was just folk like Kai Nurminen or other Finnish bampots who had it. Horrific name for a Scot though. Similarly I really liked the name Karin which this Estonian bird I knew was called. Karen on the other hand...
  7. Scotland's third tallest dwarf found. More seriously, you're spot on there. I'm hoping we'll find better than him, but I don't fear his name on the team sheet and he's definitely a more than the sum of his parts type player. Regardless of all that, I trust Steve Clarke as much as the players undoubtedly trust him.
  8. If someone with a less demanding social life than the A-lister that I am cared to come up with a table of seasons spent in the second tier over the past 35 seasons, then that'd be as appreciated as it would be interesting.
  9. Philip W. Foden. Okay, there is a reason and the reason is his face. Not entirely his fault, but he does consistently choose that haircut. As a footballer I actually quite admire him.
  10. This thread makes for some very sad reading, I feel for all of you, life can be horrific at times despite the best of intentions. Never felt so glad to be a VL though.
  11. He clearly does, otherwise he wouldn't have gathered so many many caps (and goals) for one of the world's better international sides.
  12. As long as they absolutely pump East Kilbride I don't care who wins the title. If they go on to euthanize Clyde that would also probably be for the best.
  13. It was never going to happen, but with the whole EBT scandal, yes.
  14. Sharif don't like it.
  15. The only thing stopping me from declaring Cove Rangers the überdiddies is the consistently quality posting of @CoveRangers1922.
  16. To be fair, you should have known you're not allowed to bring in your own food and drink.
  17. That's the main issue, really. In everyday life folk generally work and socialise with people who are similar to themselves. Airports, supermarkets and roads are some of the few places where you have to share your time with the populace at large, and that's why they are the source of 83% of grumblings on the general nonsense forum.
  18. The Israeli economy contracted at an annualised 19.4% last quarter. Mainly down to calling up 300,000 reservists, evacuating 180,000 Israelis from border areas and restricting travel for West Bank Palestinians who work in the construction industry.
  19. Stirling: The Settle Inn. [end of list]
  20. When the Lidl opened in Possil they leaflets all the nearby houses advertising their opening week's offers: opera glasses and cigar humidors. Outstanding market research.
  21. You realise clubs can make more than one plan, right? Interesting to know that Raith's relative success this season is down to a couple of extra weeks of knowing which league they'd be in and not something like having an entirely new board in place.
  22. The problem could be largely solved if the SNP altered the legislation making it mandatory for people to have an airport pint and post the resultant photo on Facebook.
