  1. As far as I can make out, they're the business world equivalent of wonga.com.
  2. The final scene where he's off to get done in is just perfection in my opinion. Absolutely heartbreaking. Ach, I know. The beauty of megaupload was with a program like XBMC or something, it was the equivalent of torrents without the need to download them in the first place.
  3. Since the demise of megaupload I've taken the month free on Netflix. Watched Donnie Brasco last night for the first time in years. I honestly think it's one of, if not the best, performance of Pacino's life.
  4. Fuddruckers in the US was tremendous for burgers. I made the mistake of liking them on Facebook. Every other day now I'm tormented with tales of their foods. As for steakhouses Anthony and Vic's would take some beating although it cost a fortune.
  5. You're not quite getting this thread, are you?
  6. Tropeiro, that's him. I had a stinking hangover which probably didn't do it any favours but I thought the meat they give you was a bit cheapish. As you say, don't fill up on the carbs (or the link sausage the wee gaucho offers at first). I got the feeling that they kinda leave you waiting for a while tho to get you to do exactly that.
  7. We were at the one on Argyle Street a few months ago for the first time, and I was pretty unimpressed. I can only echo what everyone else says about Ketchup. Top quality burgers, reasonable price, excellent service. Their chips are as good as I've tasted in this country too.
  8. Some people have far too much time on their hands.
  9. It's quality. Some really gruesome scenes in it, but it's so well made it never feels gratuitous. Brilliant ending too.
  10. That makes sense. I haven't looked on IMDB forums for ages. Every thread seems to descend into a 'this film is shite/no it isnae' farce.
  11. Have to agree. The only thing I had a problem with was the build up to her 'achieving' martyrdom was maybe a few scenes too long. Anyone have any hypothesis on what she told the old wifey at the end?
  12. Johnnie Walker Black Label and Kronenbourg. The guitar is out too. I'm expecting a chap at the door any minute
  13. That's a shame you didn't enjoy it more. One of my favourite films of all time. I don't think the black and white detracts any from the film, and the cinematography overall is brilliant imo. I thought it was really well acted, by Vinz in particular, and his ending was really unsettling.
  14. Paradise Lost Documentary about the trial and ridiculous conviction of 3 teenagers of the murder of 3 young children in Memphis in 1993. These guys were convicted basically for wearing black Metallica T-shirts, and having a passing interest in Wicca. It's incredible to watch some of the courtroom scenes knowing that they were ultimately convicted of this. Some very gruesome scenes at the start including crime scene video, but the most distressing thing for me about this was the injustice served. Can't recommend this highly enough.
  15. I watched Antichrist last night, the Lars Von Trier film. I'm all for films that are a bit challenging to watch, but fucking hell. I spent the best part of two hours shaking my head. Has anyone seen this and actually taken anything positive from it?
  16. It was as if someone else took over script writing duties half way thru. As soon as the ghostbusters turned up the whole thing went to shit. It really was a shame because it was genuinely creepy for the first 45 minutes or so.
  17. Pie and Bovril Pokerstars homegame. $5 buy in, deep stacks. Tonight at 8pm, thread's in the gambling forum with sign-up

    1. DJP

    2. Busta Nut
  18. That was pretty funny That's about the equivalent of Costa Rica beating us back in the day, eh?
  19. A fine, fine film. Very under-rated. The only thing I have against it is Kiefer Sutherland's ridiculous accent throughout.
  20. Could someone explain to me what the 'batting powerplay' is all about please? And is this something that happens in all ODI's or is it just in the world cup?
  21. I'm trying my best to resist watching it until there's an HD copy floating about, but it's tough. I'm off work tomorrow, so I'll probably cave in.
  22. I think it's probably more to do with the fact he's recommending a film he fell asleep during.
  23. I enjoyed it. It has it's silly bits in it, but it's a good wee story if nothing else. It's probably worth watching for Connie Nielson's character alone
