  1. Slavia bought all the away end tickets for the Banik game and sold them to fans for 1Kc this price also included a free train ticket on specially chartered trains. On the return journey they were joined by players who had brought their own carry-out.
  2. The Czech League has a top 16, after two rounds of fixtures, there is a top six split and a bottom six split. The top half play each other once. The top three teams all get three home games post split. League points are carried over so it is not a play-off situation, the top team is Champion. It is the same situation at the bottom, after five games, the bottom team goes down and the second and third bottom team play off against the second and third team from the second tier. There is a middle section of four teams, they play-off against the bottom team in the top six and the top team from the bottom six for a Europa Cup place. In theory, every team has something to play for at the end of the season. Slavia won the league on Sunday, with Pilzen second and Sparta a distant third. Dukla were relegated and Bohemians are just above the relegation play-offs with a game to play. Viktoria Zizkov, the 5th team in Prague dropped out of the second tier in a Falkirkian fashion. A good season for Slavia with the Europa Cup run, league title and the Mol cup to come.
  3. His loan is up and he'll return to Celtic for pre-season. New manager, Lennon or otherwise will look at the players he has and decide if anyone will go out on loan. Will Doohan be first choice at Celtic ? no. Bain or Gordon might not be either, but they aren't likely to have one of them sitting in the stand and Doohan on the bench. I would would Doohan to be back on loan at Ayr next year
  4. Henry Templeton is one of the very few players that put a smile on my face watching, he could beat players, stop and go back to beat them again just for the sake of it, much like Kevin McCallister at Falkirk, an absolute joy to watch. Horace was close in his brief spell. Teale was close, very inconsistent but at his best he was one of the best. Hurst as well, like Shankland, could win a game on his own. Duncan George ran the midfield against Rangers in the Scottish cup, I'm sure he broke Terry Hurlocks ribs and Trevor Stevens toe in that game. He ran the midfield against John Collins v. Celtic until he dislocated his shoulder, the booming noise his tackles made was fantastic. Marvin Wilsons time at the club was all to brief. This season compared to Daziels title winning team is night and day, probably because Daziel used so many players and paid decent money for them. This team feel like they have grown together. I have had many other heros in my time watching Ayr, Ferguson, Kerrigan, English, Sludden, Cally, Ross Scott, Cammy Duncan, Tommy Bryce, Malky Shotton.....but Shankland and Templeton have been the best, raw talent, gifted players I have seen.
  5. Shankland signs for Sunderland/Swansea/Blackburn. They get the dreadful version of Shankland, he goes out on loan to us in September in a bid to get his mojo back. Bookmark this.
  6. There was a bizarre rant on the old Honestpage from either his dad or someone close to the family complaining that Ayr missed the deadline to offer him a contract, he was wanting to stay at Ayr and the club was a shambles. Surely he would have just rejected the deal from Stranraer. He's a bombscare keeper
  7. Almost on topic, good to see this clown back in politics, her and Sam Galbraith were behind the planning application of the Heathfield stadium shambles. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-48110592
  8. MacLeod took Ayr to the top tier in the 70s and since then, apart from one year when Daziel spent more money than most premier league teams and got us to (a distant) third we are in with a chance of matching that league placing and be 6 games away from a potential promotion. without spending a transfer fee. Credit where credit is due.
  9. McGuffie, even when being in and out of the team last season was being tracked by a couple of big teams in England. There is a player there but he maybe needs a run like Crawford and Forrest did at the start of their careers. McDaid held out last year till later on in the window and apparently made comments about what he deserved to earn. he's been excellent in two games, good in a handful of others and below average in the rest this season. I'd prefer to keep him but if he got better money at another Championship club then good luck to him.
  10. McCall was saying on midweek Sportsound a couple of weeks ago that he was trying to continue the trend of turning released players around, like Rose, Smith and Shankland and he had make enquiries about a player that week....didn’t sound like someone who had decided to leave
  11. Don't know about that, don't think he is paid much or is expected to play much because of his injury and other work.
  12. The kit launch coverage has been the usual Faux-outrage tabloid stories while showing the picture, so the marketing works for Ayre. Very much a "ISN'T THIS SEXIST YOU CAN SEE HER TITS...LOOK AT HER TITS" kind of vibe. One of the stories went in to detail of how Ayr, under manager Stuart McCall are favourites to win the championship. The pictures are tiresome now, the first time it happened they were on the threshold of being acceptable in society, went through the shocking phase but are now just a bit creepy.
  13. Shankland looks like the player that was at Morton and St Mirren. I think his confidence has taken a dunt because of his injury, having not so much his longest barren spell but his only barren spell since joining the club and perhaps not getting a solid offer from a club of the stature he was being touted for. Needs a cuddle and a summer holiday. Get him back for the play-offs
  14. This looks like a Superbad/National Lampoons type film cast. three hopeless losers looking to get to third base before the end of the summer The one on the right will shit himself at some point in it, the one on the left is the sarcastic one, the one in the middle gets caught wanking in hilarious circumstances. Judd Apatow directs.
  15. I've been to one at Slavia the last couple of years and I went to an Admira Praha game last year as well because one of my old work colleagues lives near their ground. Depends on where teams go for pre-season but there are about a dozen teams in Prague to chose from.
  16. Slavia and Bohemians, you can buy online at ticketpro.cz and print it out, they won't sell out, at Slavia you can get a ticket from the ticket windows at the far end of the ground. the windows of people that speak English have wee union flags on them. Sections 124 and 125 are behind the goal above the ticket windows, the Slavia ultras occupy the stand opposite. Bohemians is a couple of tram stops before Slavia. the ticket shop is at the main entrance. Eden, is the nicer stadium and Slavia are currently 9 points clear in the league and still in the Europa league, Bohemians are in relegation bother. but have Panenka as president, the guy the penalty is named after and it is a bit of a mental club.
  17. The city is really cracking down on the last remaining sleazy operations in Prague. https://prague.tv/en/s72/Real-Estate/c141-Real-Estate-Articles-FAQs/n17235-City-wins-in-Prazska-trznice-case
  18. On the subject of stag do's The city have been clamping down on the strip club industry in the last year, particularly in Prague 1. Immigration raids found dozens of women working on tourist visas and were deported. Several clubs have been forced to close. It looks like a deliberate move to try and finally clear its reputation of a sleazy, lads destination. I rarely go out in Prague 1 any more but I have noticed a reduction of the amount of stag weekends there and a lot more middle-aged couples.
  19. If you were on a stag do..........very I've never had a problem with the people of CZ, always very friendly, Slovaks even more so.
  20. I imagine the keeper is something to do with this US soccer visa a few of our current and former players tweet about. College players trying to get European teams and Scottish players going to American colleges.
  21. The AE bus is, or was the last time I used it 60Kc, drops you at the Palladium shopping centre or the main train station (Praha hlavní nádraží) If you want to go the quickest route, there are transit ticket machines in the baggage halls in Prague airport, I think a 3 day pass is about £12 you can get the 119 bus outside both terminals to Nadrazi Veleslavin which is on the green line, it goes right through the heart of the city. Taxi companies have booths in the terminal buildings and it would be about 700kc in to the city with 40% a return fare. If you are getting a taxi, download an app for them and book it through that, I speak enough Czech to speak to drivers and I still get hit with the occasional attempt at a 1000% mark-up on the price. I've never used Uber as most of the locals complain about unlicensed Ukrainian drivers and taxis can be just as inexpensive with the right company.
  22. As long as Stainrod isn't hawking his wares about Somerset. He provided a tonne of dross to Scottish clubs over the years. Fulham have released an anniversary shirt. is it to early to be looking for next seasons template?
  23. Shankland has signed for Celtic and Miller is a sweetener. Heard this from a very good source. I have Just made this up. sounds good though
