  1. Going by the commentary, Brian Gilmour has changed his name to Brian Gilmour youth coach at Auchenhowie seen as that’s what they called him every time they asked him a question
  2. Watched the first half, the score and the Rangers TV commentary were enough to put me off. Tom - Yu were at Ayr Hugh Hugh - aye, Something derogatory about Burley, Stainrod was the man Tom - McCall and him fell out didn't they? Hugh - aye, don't think we should go in to that here though Tom - HaHa yes, you are right, we shouldn't.......it was something to do with a gift he left him...........in his shoes.........a smelly gift..........a bodily fuct.... Hugh - YES, the less said about it Like I said when the draw was made, take the humping, cash the cheque and move swiftly on. And we avoided a real embarrassment
  3. These all look like something out of Jim Hensons workshop
  4. All through the demise and re-re-re-re-building of Rangers we haven't laid a glove on them, including the worst Rangers team I have seen last time out. They now appear to have a bit of momentum and I am expecting an absolute rodgering, although it would be quite ironic if this was the occasion we beat them. Reading between the lines of McCalls post match interview at Alloa, it sounded like he didn't want to say he has no interest and its not important but hinted that he has no interest and it's not important. I wouldn't be surprised if Moore, Docherty, McDaid and McGuffie start. And Forrest, he likes a goal against them.
  5. With Livi and St Mirren, Dumbarton and Brechin being replaced by four new teams it gives the Championship a whole new challenge this year and teams have to adapt more, makes it more interesting than one up, one down.
  6. I was on jury duty at Ayr sheriff court last year, the clerk came in and said that if anyone knew the accused or any of the witnesses they could be excused. They then read out that it was a crime in Cumnock and read the two accused names. A murmur went up and one old boy along from me said "WOAHFUCK!" and 2/3 of the room left. It was delayed so they never got to selection which was just as well because there was only about 12 of us left.
  7. I've been once, the beer was ok but the place felt a bit soulless, smart enough decor but a bit soulless. I used to go to this place every night after work, about £1.25 a pint https://www.ustareposty.eu/ Prague hasn't been immune to the hipster pop-up boom but craft beer isn't something you would expect to sell well when you consider the great beers already on offer beyond Urqell, Budvar and Kozel. I do however like this place, and there is a sister shop 2 doors up that has the best hangover bursting soup https://www.cafefinvpraze.com/
  8. Lets hope the Gerrard effect doesn't run out before we play them and there is a full house, take a tanking and the money I'm a season ticket holder and I have no interest in going, the folk I regularly go with are the same, I'm sure some will have made it to general sale.
  9. Didn't make the game yesterday and only saw the final score about an hour after the final whistle so just managed a FUCKSAKE! before putting my phone away again. wont watch the highlights so the game didn't really happen
  10. Fortunately I missed the Ayr yesterday but managed to watch Slavia's 4-0 hammering of Plzen putting them joint top, Sparta's 2-0 win against Dukla pulls them back in to the top three
  11. The Czech top league are six games in so far. The traditional top three domestic teams, Slavia, Sparta and Viktoria Plzen all won the first four games but Slavia were the first to blink with a 2-0 defeat to Jablonec. Sparta have since drawn two in a row putting them in fourth behind Menzels least favourite Czech team and apparent racists Ostrava, who have former Liverpool and Villa player Milan Baros. This weekend, Slavia play Plzen at Eden and Sparta play bottom team Dukla. Slavia signed mostly domestic based players in the window and have retained the bulk of last seasons squad, they were unlucky to go out of the Champions league to Dynamo Kiev, they dominated both legs and lost 3-1 on aggregate. The early season form of Pepe Husbauer and Milan Skoda has been impressive, had Husbauer been playing like this 5 years ago he could have been playing for a bigger team in Europe.
  12. Depends where you go, you are probably looking at 50Kc a beer in most (non tourist) bars in the centrum, I normally work out Kc at about 1000Kc to £30 so probably about £1.50 a pint. It breaks my heart because I used to get a pint of Kozel for 17Kc Irish/tourist bars you are looking at twice that. Sticking to beer (no strip clubs/sports bars) and 48 hours of drinking you could spend less than £100
  13. Remember him getting McCallister red carded in the last game of the season meaning he'd miss the play-off first leg Then the second leg at Somerset, shouting at the ref "he keeps nipping me" like a 5yr old Lee Wallace.
  14. Petr Murphy had his critics**cough**ITZDRK**cough** but when we came up against guys who had previously caused us problems like Templeman and McCallister, he outclassed them by a mile. Geggan made Hippolyte look ordinary but for a short spell in the second half he became a superstar.
  15. When Hippolyte came on, Geggan had him on toast, they switched him against Crawford and Smith where he caused us problems. I know Geggan was playing on his preferred side but his experience to deal with certain players is invaluable, there is life in Geggan yet
  16. Seems odd that the DR is claiming to have known about it for some time yet they could have made the claims during the height of the #metoo movement and probably have done more damage. He must be pretty sure of an exoneration by his statement. The BBC article on it is as you would expect, his statement says he refutes all the allegations, some are ridiculous, the BBC's quote is "on the allegations", Salmond says some are ridiculous. He came across as a bit of a creep during the indyref with his habit of hugging women, cheek to cheek in selfies but I imagine the accusations may be stronger. Like a few famous people that have been accused, I hope it isn't true and like all accused he is innocent until proven guilty, if he is guilty, then he deserves everything he gets.
  17. Only good thing about the draw is that it is next week, so only a week of being patronised by Rangers fans with “this is your cup final” pish Then gloating when they pump us with a squad that cost x1000 more to assemble that ours
  18. Hearts watched Shankland last season, could have had him for free in the summer and didn't go for him *or they did and he knocked it back), why would they spend £250k plus on him now ? Aberdeen free'd him a year ago, they aren't going to pay money to take him back. Hibs don't need him. No one else who would like him can't afford him and probably wouldn't turn his head. The only danger I think we have of losing him is if either a foreign club from somewhere that interests him comes in or Rangers make a bid, I don't think the latter will happen because they will likely sign Lafferty and that will be more of a marquee signing than Shankland.
  19. No injuries, only one booking, players given a run-out that were needing it and no extra time........out of a cup no one can remember who won the year before bar the finalists early. Not the worst of evenings.
  20. We have recruited very well over the summer, not only in keeping Shankland. The signings of Smith and Harvie who have played in the Championship before, been training full time and look committed to getting better have been hugely positive. If players like Ferguson and McGuffie click the same way Crawford did and become consistent then we could have 8-9 players under 24 who could carry the club for a few years, either in performances or transfer fee's.
  21. I do I also remember him hammering in a goal at the Somerset Road end, dropping his shorts and doing jazz hands to the Ayr support, fortunately he was wearing keks One of the reports in the newspaper was that he had mooned the away support
