  1. Just read the news about Ally Gourlay then read Turnbull's piece. Turnbull should just shut his puss at the moment imo.
  2. True but we won't have the usual upsurge of people buying the home top as most will already have it. Hopefully the away top is a big seller. Haven't a clue how much it will cost the club to have the tops produced and/or if the club end up making a profit from punters buying it.
  3. We're about a month into our 2 year old sleeping in his 'big boy bed'. It's going well so far. He's gotten up probably 3 times himself (once during the night but settled when we put him back in his bed, once in the morning at a reasonable hour and once late in the evening the latter of which, when prompted, he went back into bed and settled himself. We're still safety conscious by having his baby monitor switched on during the night so when he's awake we can hear him. In the morning he seems content to lie in his bed until we come through more so than realise he can get out of bed himself now. He still naps during the day however the times vary which seems to impact when he'll go to bed at night time. I'm of the opinion he goes to bed between 20:00 and 20:30 and if it means a few trips into his room to make him aware it's bed time then so be it however my other half feels he needs soothed and almost brought down to a more tired state before contemplating putting him down. Regardless if he's in his bed for 20:00 or 22:00 he'll still be up at his usual 07:30 in the morning.
  4. Add my name to the list of people that would also be happy with finishing 7th next season. This seasons Championship has been devoid of any real quality and we're struggling - we're basically limping over the finishing line. We're really going to have to up our game if we're wanting to compete and survive next season imo.
  5. I'm bored so just for fun here's a question. I appreciate it's all assumption at this point. Lets assume the money we've managed to make from our cup/TV games and that finishing 7th this season has left us with a no bad wee sum of cash for X, Y and Z. If we had some disposable dosh left over would you all prefer: a) the board use it to punt Murray (taking into account compo) but leaving us with the same group of players but the option to bring in a new manager. or b) use it to strengthen the squad but with Murray still in charge.
  6. Now this might be my mind playing tricks on me but I'm sure way way back when we started taking the seats out of the away end of the railway stand that they were given to the Flyers as well as replacing seats in the South Stand when players inevitably broke them during the warm up.
  7. That was my understanding as well. Lot of good memories of being in that stand as it was where my first season ticket was for when I started following the Rovers, I think I even kept those season ticket books as mementos. I used to stand at the bottom holding out my programme to get signed by my heroes of the 90's. Those were the days. Was also good for shouting abuse at the linesman

  9. Rae pushing Hutton close in the 'chairman that say whatever the f**k they want' bracket.
  10. Our son was certainly quicker at speaking than walking. He didn't start properly walking until 19 months and lately we've been concerned about him having flat feet. The wife took him to the Doctors who advised that it isn't flat feet but possibly something else. The term hyper mobility is springing to mind but I can't for the life of remember if that was it. When he walks it almost looks like he's on his ankles. When he's running about the house he's fine but if we put shoes on him and take him outside he'll complain of having sore feet after a while. Doctor referred him to the hospital and told us he'll either need insoles, splints or the worst case scenario surgery. We had made steps to speak to the GP who referred him to the hospital when he was about 13 months as his main method of moving back then was army crawling but dragging his left leg behind. We'd go back every 6 months and by the time he was walking we were told his feet should level out automatically so I'm hoping this is still the case and that we're worried over nothing. Still best to get it checked out. The fact he's now openly saying "my feet are sore" whenever he's outside with his shoes was a worry. We've tried changing shoes but same thing. His speaking is mental though. My wife is a stay at home Mum at the moment so is always actively speaking to him and we're forever encouraging him to speak in terms of what he wants or point to thing and aks him what they are. He's an only child just now but goes to a Mum & Toddler group every week and my wife will usually take him to a soft play centre with the other Mums so he's getting a chance to interact with other kids. Starting to notice a big difference in terms of him socialising with other kids. Previously he was a very reserved timid wee boy who'd always be fearful about other kids getting in his face and seemed to rather want to sit on his own. Thankfully over time he's starting to play with other kids and come out his shell.
  11. I think a few folk have read it as he doesn't train with us at all however makes sense if he's part time to fit in extra sessions on top of the training he does with us. Training with the enemy though, crocked for Sunday probably.
  12. Never been to the ice rink since I was a bairn. Has it been done up that it can accommodate crowds of 3000+ as I can't remember it being overly big inside. What would you say is the main reason that the Flyers can get bigger crowds than the Rovers? Is it the fact the Flyers are doing well or is there much more on offer on the night that helps entice people back? Are they better at promoting their fixtures etc?. It's weird how they are getting really good crowds yet apart from on these forums I never hear people around the town talking about them.
  13. Flyers game to be postponed due to a frozen....pitch Just out of curiosity what day is the Flyers game? Spoke to a few people that are combining both by going to the Flyers then coming back up for the cup final game. My Facebook page is going doolally with daft wee bints getting all giddy at the Flyers lately and quoting some song they sing about roaring . Just can't imagine the Fife Flyers, for as many fans as they are attracting as of late, having the same effect as a football game in terms of passion. Seems overly family friendly. Not that I don't condone that at football but I want to get pished and indulge in various hate filled rants at the opposition ie Bodge style. Do the Flyers have a Bodge character?
  14. From memory there was talk of the ground being completely re-built up at the Retail Park and was due to be similar in design to Livi's stadium prior to the decision being made to just to do up our current ground. Were we not also looking into building a stand next to the main stand but local residents opposed this idea as it would mean lack of sunlight coming into their house? Smaller stands behind the goals and a demolished and re-built railway stand would have looked quite nice imo.
  15. Between beating Morton to get back to winning ways then putting in a good performance against the league leaders you'd think that would have been enough to lift the players. Then a home game against a team with a couple of key players out injured and boom we get horsed.
  16. Our son turned 2 at the start of March there and I must admit I'm loving this part of his life more so than the new born phase. That might sound a bit nuts considering this is the stage where they can go a bit mental and really test the boundaries but coming home from work and have him run at me shouting 'daddy daddy' and giving me a cuddle is a fantastic feeling. He's now speaking in sentences and nearly having full conversations with us. He's telling us when he's ready to do 'stinky poops' so thinking we might try potty training him soon. My only worry I do have for him at this moment is he's still in a cot and we've not taken the bars off yet. He's not quite grasped the ability to climb out it yet - I know most will say this is a god send but really hoping he takes to a toddler bed ok when the time comes. He had his first proper row yesterday. He's been quite good in knowing right from wrong even at 2 years old. The wife had him on the bunker as she was putting away the food shopping and he got hold of the 4 pint of milk and started slowly pushing it towards the end of the bunker. The wife would tell him to stop but he kept smiling edging it closer and closer. Just as the wife went to grab the milk he throws it on the floor and it exploded everywhere. I must admit I did laugh when she told me the story and when I came home from work he was quieter than usual. Turns out he was put in the corner (some random part of the house which the wife immediately proclaimed the naughty corner) but he just kept running about thinking it was a game. He was then put in his cot and went apeshit. Thankfully he said 'sorry' off his own back so he must have realised he had done wrong.
  17. I agree. I didn't make the Falkirk game but certainly at the Alloa and St Johnstone game I wouldn't say the crowd were baying for blood, I've heard Starks much worse in terms of venomous, boiling, frothing at the mouth seethe.
  18. Can someone confirm how the playoffs work should we finish in 9th place? would it be: 9th in Championship vs 4th in League 1 (home and away) 2nd vs 3rd in League 1 (home and away) winners of both ties play eachother?
