  1. Greer did pretty well for Scotland and was a lot better than most of our current centre back options. It's just a shame he was approaching his mid-30's when we started picking him. Paul Gallagher Stephen Crainey - Grant Hanley - Lee Wilkie - Robbie Stockdale Jamie Mackie - Scott Severin - Gary Holt - Gary Teale Kevin Kyle - Craig Beattie Subs: Rab Douglas - including him is harsh maybe because he was a decent keeper and a very nice man, but of all the decent-to-good keepers we've had in my time following Scotland (i.e. Sullivan, Douglas, Gordon, Marshall, McGregor) he was the worst of a good bunch. Barry Bannan Paul Devlin Stephen McManus - controversial maybe, but I never rated him at all. Craig Mackail-Smith Stephen Pearson Manager - George Burley Craig Gordon Alan Hutton - David Weir - Gary Caldwell - Andy Robertson Darren Fletcher Barry Ferguson - Paul Hartley James McFadden - Shaun Maloney Kenny Miller Subs: David Marshall Robert Snodgrass Scott Brown Lee McCulloch Gary Naysmith Steven Naismith Don Hutchison Manager - Walter Smith
  2. Poor son. Pie and Bovril should form a political party and aim to get elected in every constituency. Our manifesto would make excellent reading.
  3. I might accidentally pocket large sums of cash but I won't do THAT.
  4. Can I be part of your team? It was my idea after all.
  5. I probably would still be posting on here if I was an MP tbh. I think P&B should club together and get one of its posters elected to parliament.
  6. Has anyone on P&B ever run for election as an independent candidate? What was the outcome?
  7. I forgot Rutkiewicz played for us. Wasn't he a trialist for a couple of games? Anyhow: Hutton Hunter Cummins Brownlie McCann Woodburn Cairney McLaughlin Donald Kyle Beattie Subs: Ruddy Blakeman Ryan Donnelly El Alagui Harkins Dale Keenan Gilmour
  8. It was a clumsy Bermuda Triangle related joke.
  9. It was hilarious. It got to the point when I was expecting a penalty every time I attacked. I was disappointed that Whelan didn't get the triple hat trick.
  10. The most unbelievably ridiculous and surreal thing just happened during a Euro Cup qualification match in my Hearts save. Glenn Whalen scores SEVEN penalties.
  11. Arbroath won the Championship in my first season. Dick Campbell promptly retired and was replaced by Ian McCall.
  12. Forrest has yet to break into double figures for goals in a season. However, he is only one goal away from equalling his highest tally which is 9 goals. Interestingly, he has scored 9 goals in four separate seasons. He currently has 8 goals after 13 games which is a great scoring record for a midfielder. This season could be the one were he scores double figures.
  13. I was watching the game live and the ball definitely did not cross the line.
  14. No that did not cross the line. It was an optical illusion that fooled a nation.
  15. Letting Cyprus have shots on target is a dangerous strategy. We all know how dangerous their shots are.
  16. Same. That probably speaks volumes about my lack of good nights though.
  17. GK Cuthbert RB Smith CB Rose CB Campbell LB Malone RM Forrest CM Stevenson CM Geggan LM McDaid ST Shankland ST Moffat Subs: Doohan Adams Parker Crawford Graham Williams Roberts
  18. I tried to kill myself 7 years ago on the 12th of November. I always remembered the date for some reason. I was in my early 20's, didn't have much going for me and was drinking quite a lot at the time which is often a recipe for disaster, especially if you are depressed already. Partly it was because I felt that I had made too many mistakes and spurned whatever chances I had had to better myself, and I thought that I was failure and would never become anything better than a fat, lonely alcoholic. My mind was a pretty scary place looking back, when I remember the kind of things that I used to think about and all of the intrusive thoughts that I used to have most of the time. I had a couple more suicide attempts in 2016 and 2017, but was eventually able to get the professional help that would help me to deal with my depression and get rid of 95% of the nasty stuff in my head. Life is not perfect, but I am better equipped to deal with it these days. Today I found out that I have been accepted into university to do what I have always wanted to do. The point of this post is that it is possible for you to get better and your situation to improve, even if it appears impossible. You are never beyond help and it is still possible to achieve anything you want.
  19. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it's easy to sit here and say that it was a missed opportunity, but Mr Barr did a lot of good for the club and deserves a lot of credit for the successes of that period. Mr Barr was a good friend of my grandpa and was responsible for arranging one of the most fondly remembered days of my childhood, when I got to watch a game in the directors box and meet all of the players and staff. He was a very kind and generous man. RIP.
  20. Finished 2nd in my first season at Hearts and won the Scottish Cup. I managed to win every game against Celtic in all competitions and appear to have struck gold since changing to a 541 with wingbacks and inverted wingers. It's a shame I didn't switch to that tactic sooner, as I could have had a proper tilt at the title. Alan Forrest was my top scorer with 20 league goals and was the highest scoring Scotsman in the Premiership. He still missed out on Steve Clarke's squad for the Euros. I managed to get 10million for Hickey in January and am trying to gradually replace the older members of the squad such as Berra, Whelan and Naismith. Those three have at least another good season in them though, and are still good options to have if I want to do well in the Europa League and challenge for the domestic trophies.
