  1. I think we need to assume that VAR didn't have access to that angle.
  2. I was worried that we'd get rolled over tonight but we were the better side and should've certainly taken a point. A lot of positives but yet again we're just not clinical enough. We had four strikers on the pitch tonight but only really worked Clarke at that one point when he had the double save. "If yer auntie had balls" type stuff but we could've had 9 points from Kilmarnock and the two Hearts games if we could take our chances.
  3. That's not a bad side considering. Taylor starting worries me a bit given the level that he's come from but I guess we don't have any option. He's alongside 2 experienced guys though so that should help. Saw him described on twitter as being a bit rash. Maybe worth a wee fiver to be sent off at 28/1.
  4. I would agree but it doesn't look like Robinson does. As we're having a good season I wouldn't criticise too many of Robinson's decisions. Maybe he feels that Brophy doesn't suit our system or maybe he thinks that the whole 'Wolf' patter and trying to create a trademark celebration for a player who is lucky to hit double figures is enough not to play him. I'd completely understand in that case. I reckon there would be a few teams that would take Brophy. St Johnstone, Ross County, Kilmarnock, probably Livingston. Dundee as well. I can't imagine the salary he'd get offered at any of them would be much below what we're playing, plus he'd be more likely to get appearance fees. I think it would depend on whether or not we want to let him go to another team in our league. I have a lot of sympathy with him, injuries have meant he's had a really stop/start time with us. He's a decent player and needs to be playing somewhere.
  5. Brophy's a funny one. He's definitely good enough to play for St Mirren l, had it not been for injuries he'd have played (and scored) a fair amount more. He looked good against Livingston, his introduction got us back in the game and he probably should've won it for us. He then starts against Kilmarnock, where I was expecting a good shift and hopefully a goal. That would've surely seen him keep his place in the team but Erhahon's red card ended that hope. Now it looks like he's been bombed out.
  6. It was a classic smash and grab if I remember correctly. Tony Bullock played the game of his life.
  7. If we're without some of Strain, Fraser, Gallagher, Dunne for the next few games would it be worth (possible?) To recall Daniel Finlayson from Linfield?
  8. Didn't realise Dunne was out too. That's concerning. I'd guess that Gogic will move back into defence, unless he decides to go for the new lad. If Gallagher and Strain are out then we're struggling a bit.
  9. That doesn't look great to me. Seeing it again he doesn't actually need to jump over Olusanya. He's a little unlucky, but on that viewing I think it's the right decision.
  10. Need to be more clinical. Greive's all round play was excellent today but in front of goal he lacked a bit of composure. Hopefully that'll come with more game time.
  11. Always a danger of looking too much into things, but no Brophy at all today was strange. Makes me wonder if he's on his way out. I thought he should've been on with a good 20 mins or so to play today.
  12. The ball wasn't winnable because a free kick had given. He's jumped over a player rather than clatter into him. It's a natural reaction to get out thenway of something. OK, it's a red card but I don't think there is any intent there.
  13. It's an infrigement and it's violent conduct. Say a player punches an opponent waiting for a corner, the foul would be given whether or not the ball was in play.
  14. I need to see it again. But when you jump you usually have two feet off the ground. He's hurdled the St Mirren player and the Hearts boy is lying on the ground. In hindsight he should've just clattered into Olusanya rather than trying to avoid him.
  15. Not sure about the red card. I'd be astounded if Fraser has deliberately stamped. Looks like he's jumped over Olusanya and landed on Grant. Why though does it take 2 mins for VAR to call the referee to look at it? It then takes the referee another minute or so to decide if it's a red. Needless waste of time. Hearts the better side in the second half but can't help but think it was 2 points dropped. We should've been out of sight. Hearts were always going to have a spell in the game so we needed to take our chances when they came.
  16. Think we're worth our lead. Greive's chance at the end was a difficult one to take but he should be doing better. I thought it took a deflection but clearly not. The referee has been alright, think he got rhe Baccus and McKay bookings right, but he's given a lot of soft fouls.
  17. He's insufferable. Fair play to Kenny Clarke, I'd have probably hung up by now.
  18. I wonder if he might bring O'Hara in for Erhahon and keep Kiltie in the starting line up. I don't really see any of our centre midfielders as like for like. They all bring something different.
  19. I hope he doesn't settle for someone like Forest Green. No disrespect to them but if Kyle McAllister can go from not getting a game for a dreadful Partick Thistle side, to churning out MOTM performances for them, then Erhahon should be aiming higher. I don't mean that as a criticism of McAllister either, I'm glad he's playing and doing well. I also have a lot of sympathy for Erhahon after the red card. When I saw it again on Sportscene it's a nothing reaction and he's unlucky to have caught the boy in the face. It wasn't like he lost the plot completely. I hope he stays, he's a good player and is getting better. If he does go he should at least hold out for a decent move. He should be aiming to be in the English Championship within a season or so. That won't happen if he goes to Forest Green or Oxford.
  20. The extent to which we were wasting time has grown arms and legs in the minds of supporters who are frustrated that they couldn't break down 10 men.
  21. The "anti football/time wasting" patter is a nice excuse. Of course we tried to slow the game down, maybe that seems like a euphemism, but teams aren't obliged to rush to take set pieces or throw ins. Bringing Gallagher up to take long throws may have seemed like a time wasting tactic but if you've watched St Mirren this season you'll know we do that every game. The referee never once spoke to Carson about time and the one booking he gave was for hesitating at a throw in a period of the game when we were well on top.
  22. Having watched Sportscene, there wasn't a great deal in the red card and I feel sorry for Erhahon. He's tried to shug McKenzie off and bumped his face. Without the playacting Erhahon probably stays on the park. There's no way it would get overturned though. Seeing Gogic's one again, that's a straight red for me and I'm astounded VAR didn't intervene.
  23. If you'd offered me 5 points from our three games after the world cup, I'd have probably taken it. But getting 5 points and numerous fans of each of our opponents spitting the dummy has been a terrific return.
  24. I understand Kilmarnock fans' frustrations, we certainly took every opportunity to slow the game down, but I didn't think there was much outrageous time wasting. Gallagher coming up to take lobg throws wouldve happened regardless of the score. I thought Dunne's booking was a bit of a joke, we were well on top at that point and had no reason to waste time. The booking actually ended up wasting more time. Baccus stayed down near the end of the game, a few players rushed to him obviously telling him to stay down. That was clearly to waste time, but the Kilmarnock boy cynically fouled him so I'd be pointing fingers closer to home.
