  1. He keeps it on the second hook next to the front door.
  2. Ullapool and Portree are both Tommy Telford towns and do is Tobermory. Historically Ullapool was the largest town in Cromartyshire.
  3. Then again with the NC500, you don't want to go too far off the beaten track.
  4. Strictly speaking it Jan de Groot, a Dutchman. Why anyone needs to see him - I do not know.
  5. Bizarre. I was looking at this post and suddenly my computer said this thread isn't working. Spooky.
  6. Totally agree with this. Near Tongue, there is a road up to Talmine, which is nice, Portvasgo maybe not. Also, on the road around the loch, there are signs pointing out the local wildlife, the various mountains and the spot where John Lennon crashed his car. Also, you are right, the Caithness by-pass is nicer heading from Melvich to Helmsdale although the other direction is okay as well.
  7. Not been to a lot of the places listed on the boards at Glasgow Central Station. Not convinced they all exist.
  8. Totally agree. Scotland has so much East Coast and West Coast that it was a novelty to think it also had a North Coast. Not any more. Ardnamurchan is a long drive. On both occasions that I went there, I then took the ferry to Tobermory and went back that way.
  9. Seriously. Poor Nadine quitting politics because of insufficient grovelling. The whole thing is as corrupt as it can get.
  10. I guess that spells the end of CANZUK. I mean if it not all about us sitting around the campfire belting out GSTK then why bother.
  11. What exactly is the objection to President <Horrible Person> (Insert name). They will merely be a figurehead, they have very little real power and don't even get to control what they get to say in public.
  12. I get it. You want to do a remake of Hitchcock's "Strangers on a train" except this time it is called "Strangers on a football forum". Probably lacks potential if you ask me.
  13. Maybe but I always thought that the credibility of the SNP rested mainly on its strength in the Scottish Parliament rather than it bloated presence at Westminister. Also I despise UKIP and similar but I actually think they would be damaged by operating out in the open instead of hiding in the shadows influencing public opinion while pretending they have no platform. Anyone who is pleased that FPTP keeps UKIP out is basically saying "God bless the Tories."
  14. They might increase their numbers but they can't do much with it. With FPTP who knows what the Netherlands be like. Maybe Wilders being leader due to the freak way the system can disproportionately reward one party more than others.
  15. On the contrary, I think it would clip the wings of any far right party. Parties that are supposedly on the left would win more often or at least together would win more often. At the moment the Tories are so frightened of Farage they do what he wants without him having any MPs at all. I think it is FTFP that makes the UK look more right wing than it really is.
  16. As I have said earlier in this thread, consider silent skins. If you are concerned about not annoying the neighbours it is a good idea.
  17. You should be on the lookout for the Sixties Gold tour with Marmalade, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Herman's Hermits, the Tremeloes and the original Gary Puckett still belting it out at 80 years of age.
  18. One of the reasons her death was such a big thing was that she and Dodi were front page news every day at the time. Photographers with telescopic lengths were eying her every move and there is little doubt she was aware of them. "Hey what is the latest news on Diane and Dodi." "Car crash. Dead." "What?"
  19. At my first job some burglars got in and came across two doors side by side. The one on the left was locked so they tried to smash it open. A bit stupid. The one on the right was unlocked and led into the same room as the one on the left.
  20. Makes you wonder if they chose Rwanda because it sounds African unlike maybe Chad or Mali.
  21. Why audience manipulation on BBC Question Time is an assault on truth and journalism | The Herald (heraldscotland.com)
