  1. Terrorist ambulances are used to transport terrorist old dears from their terrorist care homes over to their terrorist Bingo Hall. HTH
  2. "The Penny Drops" headline almost works here.
  3. One of the strongest advocates for the forty hour week was Henry Ford. He believed that if people didn't have enough time off work they would not have much need to buy a car.
  4. Actually he is parked himself just to the left of the Tories (almost undetectably left). That makes it difficult for the Tories to attack him and easier to portray Labour as a government-in-waiting. Hopefully they will be more progressive once elected but I wouldn't hold my breath.
  5. In WW2, the Soviets had their suspicions about Germany and the Americans had their suspicions about Japan. Maybe there were also operatives who knew exactly what was about to happen but could not be heard or their warnings went unheeded. That is all very different to the Soviets knowing about Operation Barbarossa and allowing it to happen or the Americans having advance knowledge about the attack on Pearl Harbor but allowing it too. Similarly lots of mistakes happened before 911 and opportunities were lost but the event made a massive hit on the US economy. Allowing for that and all the lives lost, I seriously doubt any US politician would survive long if it was discovered they knew about it in advance and did nothing. Most politicians are too short-term to be that deceitful.
  6. There is a teleport and a Tardis but obviously these can't be shown for security reasons.
  7. You are making the assumption that having lost in 2014, Cameron would not have resigned. Obviously we will never know.
  8. And yet if there was a genuine "hate march" by Tommy Robinson, the BNP or whoever, with hundreds of yobbos fighting on the street and dozens of arrests, she would probably be the first one to protect their right to protest.
  9. In the 1998 film "Lost in Space" his character was played by Matt Le Blanc in a similar role to Joey in Friends.
  10. In the Star Trek episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" they beam down to a planet and encounter a strange device (The Guardian of Forever) with various runes all around it. According to the script. The props department had no idea what runes were and so the scene has various ruins around the device instead. Oops. Yes, I know. "Facts I did not make up" for this pish.
  11. You won't catch me going to Grimsby to look at the butterflies. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/the-northerner/2013/jun/21/butterfly-bombs-luftwaffe-cleethorpes-grimsby
  12. Black Lace used these runes as inspiration for the dance moves they use for Agadoo.
  13. Thanks for the example. I am not a Beaconsfield expert. 54 people spoilt their ballot because they were angry with Candidate A, Candidate B, the Council, Western Democracy, Taylor Swift, the Corealis Effect, Continental Drift, Climate Change or simply because they are stupid. Will any candidate mend their ways as a result of those 54 votes? I suspect not.
  14. Spoilt ballots are sidelined by volunteers at the count who have no interest in the result. Maybe some get reviewed to see if they might be okay but not many. Nobody knows if it is some sort of protest or simply incompetence with basic instructions and nobody really cares. I feel sorry for those who vote early, put an X in the correct box but then sign it as they always do. Their vote has never counted.
  15. The current Tory Party is full of people who think they are not doing their job unless they are "goading the left". It is nicer to hear a Tory who lacks that sense of malice.
  16. Spoling your ballot paper would be one thing but spoiling the entire polling station seems a bit excessive.
  17. When Sally Thomsett played an 11 year old in the Railway Children, she wasn't allowed to be seen drinking, smoking, talking to her boyfriend or driving around in her sports car. She is older than Jenny Agutter who played her older sister.
  18. If you draw it in such a way that it can be easily identified as yours then that would count as a spoilt ballot. On the other hand, if it actually fits inside one of the boxes then that counts as a vote for that party.
  19. Okay. With interest rates where they are, you will get the million plus another £70,000 if you return the briefcase now. Is that the answer you were looking for?
  20. When Enola Gay approached Hiroshima, the Japanese did not bother sending up anything to intercept it. What harm could one plane do? Until then the Japanese were prepared for a fight to the death. What was the point when tens of thousands on the ground were killed but not a single person on the plane was harmed? Ultimately the two bombs persuaded a supposedly powerless emperor it was time to end the war before the next one landed on his house.
