  1. Was in Aldi's recently and was impressed with the range of beers and price, although in this neck of the woods Asda is the best for price. For example Theakston's Old Peculiar £1.25 in Asda, £1.99 in Morrisons. I've now tried a few Williams Bros beers and I have to say I find them over carbonated for my taste. However, 7 giraffes is very nice indeed. Recently had an Old Speckled Hen that's good from a bottle and it is excellent on draught.
  2. Earlier in the thread someone mentioned Belhaven Black. I have plagiarised this review as I agreed with it. However unlike the initial reviewer I would return to it. I like most of what Belhaven does. A standard stout aroma with some roasted malts and a background chocolate aroma. There is some coffee too. Black with a light brown colour with quite good retention. Malts upfront and some roasted barely along with a bit off coffee and some bitterness as well. There is a sort of smoky wood taste too but its pretty basic. Wet and smooth tasting but also quite light for a stout, probably light-medium overall and touches of bitterness right at the end. I prefered it to Cairngorm's Black Gold stout. I'd give it 7.5 out of ten.
  3. Pretty much agree with your review. I didn't think it was particularly creamy though. Would give it a 7/10. It's definitely one that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling on completion. Recommended
  4. Had one these tonight. Sorry to say not a fan of it. The head disappeared almost immediately and I thought it tasted over-carbonated. I would give it 5.5 out of 10.
  5. I like Pale Ales so Caledonian's Golden Promise (or on tae a) as I like to call it, is very quaffable. Another delightful pale ale is Deuchars IPA. Not sure if available here but the Aussies do a nice pale ale too called Fat Yaks.

    Suits

Great series. Really well written. Louis character is genuis.
  7. Yup CVA had that figure. So in the eyes of Hector that's what is owed. These boys are also keen to forget that an appeal tends to follow a guilty verdict. Or as this is a civil matter, the balance of probabilities in Hector's view is that Rangers were operating the EBT's inappropriately.
  8. Not been to Kilbarchan then? They weren't happy letting the Christian religion get a foothold and as for those of an R.C. persuasion. Sellick fans are like hen's teeth there.
  9. Well let's hope that's the end of it. Mr Regan and Mr Doncaster please step forward with a statement that begins We resign.... These fools believed Duff and Phelps that the CVA would be accepted. They clearly did not have a plan for liquidation. I hate to think what these muppets get paid but whatever it is, it's too much. The level of amateurism is scary. Tough times ahead for some clubs mine included but que sera. I had no interest in following soccertainment. If this is the final solution and hopefully the warmers at the SFA realise the SPL2 is a nonsense,it's time to back our clubs to the hilt and for decent administrators to work their socks off to identify new revenue streams.
  10. Have to agree with this. My work has exposed me to people dealing with levels poverty that have no place in a so called civilised society. So I ain't for joining in but see Greenock ....
  11. Any amusing banter re Turnbull , the SFA ,SPL and Sevco?
  12. I have come round to the view that whatever happens we are looking at 3 shitty options. In order to preserve any modicum of integrity, Sevco applying for the 3rd Division is the only shitty option with any merit. If this means that SPL clubs including my club St.Mirren go out of business then it's a price that has to be paid. This will be the collateral damage. SFL clubs who didn't depend on whoring themselves to Sky will readily take the place of the defunct clubs. As I have said before, a restructuring to 3 leagues of 14 teams would see Sevco potentially back in two years and would allow a good number of clubs to operate at a higher club than they currently are. I know that some people just want Sevco to die and say that we shouldn't be restructuring just because Rangers are in trouble. While that may be desirable on the face of it, it is my contention that it won't happen in reality and of course they will be voted in a some level and lets face it every SPL club with the exception of Celtic is in some kind of trouble now.The other two shitty options are just risible and really don't merit any consideration.
  13. Never mind patting Turnbull Hutton on the back, send RRFC money. Can any of you Raith chaps/chapesses indicate a way in which this can be facilitated? I have already posted on the RRFC thread that I will pledge £50 now and will attend Raith games next season. edited for punctuation
  14. Please set it up soon. I pledge £50 to Raith Rovers right now. Put the details on the Big admin thread. Your chairman should be given a medal! Meanwhile our chairman is back peddling saying that without Sevco in the first St. Mirren will go to the wall. I have a colleague who supports Raith. My intention is to go with him to Raith games played in the west next season. I'm done with the SPL's pish.
  15. Apparently an uber Sevco fan with lots of follow, followers on Twitter. IIRC he describes himself as an intellectual bigot
  16. If Hector thought Rangers were innocent of tax owed through operation of EBT scheme, how come the figure of 93 million quid appeared in the CVA document as the amount owed? As you say innocent/gulity not the appropriate terms. Case decided on "balance of probabilities" see Rangers Tax Case Blog for further detail.
  17. Will posters please refrain from referring to Newco entry to 3rd Division as a punishment. This is the correct procedure for the entrance of a new club i.e. SEVCO =new club. Not a punishment. The club formerly known as Rangers recieved one punishment that proved to be tokenistic and completely ineffective as a punishment as it had no impact on income or league position. The second punishment was appealed and seems to have disappeared at the same point as the CVA was rejected. As I stated previously I am still waiting for the real punishments to begin. Edited for typo
  18. Clearly time constraints had an impact on the quality of the survey. Question 10 could have benefited from having an "unlike Arnie I won't be back" type response included. Well done on getting something out there.
