  1. You have to account for the fact 5 teams have come up and 2 right through the Lowland League from the EOS though.
  2. 1. Celtic B 2. Tranent 3. EK 4. Linlithgow 5. Berwick Rangers 6. Albion Rovers 7. Civil Service 8. Boness 9. Cumbernauld 10. Cowdenbeath 11. Shire 12. Gala 13. Stirling Uni 14. Braves 15. Broomhill 16. Hearts B 17. Edinburgh Uni 18. Gretna
  3. I hope so and looking forward to seeing him but I’m only saying it’s a massive jump. Not a diddy league cup but there’s no doubt Musselburgh and Sauchie would have played weakened sides VS Bo’ness given the other comps they were in. Im taking nothing away, just harder when you need to play at that level every week and not in a one off. That’ll be the hard part for the Rose this year as well. I expected us to win the EOS. The LL is in the main teams all at the level of the top of the EOS or higher.
  4. He’ll be a huge miss. Scored when it mattered nearly every time. Over 40 goals a season doesn’t just happen. I get people get frustrated when a player leaves but he’s been one of our very best I’ve ever watched in the last 30 years - our best winger since Corcoran 20 years ago. He dries up a bit Dec-Feb in the mud but was integral to the team. Hearing good things about Paterson but Division 3 is an absolute diddy league compared to the EOS so a bit step up for him as well. Hearing he links up better than Stowe but that leaves the question out there that we need a prolific number 9 up there for him to playoff. Ill be surprised if we don’t have at least 3 starters signed by the end of the week.
  5. Bags of pace and a wand of a left foot. Just turned 24 and has improved each season. No doubt it’ll be harder for him but if he keeps improving and you are an attacking team he’ll get goals.
  6. There’s no way we will let the potential top goalscorer in the league go for £5k. Thats just ridiculous.
  7. Not to be pedantic but it obviously wasnt agreed and not in the contract. No danger the Rose should let him go for any less than £10k. That’s just common sense. Mark has been well looked after here at the rose and signed a 2 year contract so the club are well within their rights to ask for the right fee given how much he’s developed at Prestonfield.
  8. We played Bo’ness and they had a very good defence, showed him the outside and he popped one on Sneddons head gift wrapped from his “weak” foot. He uses the cut in and hit most as it’s absolutely lethal.
  9. Away. He’s improved beyond belief in those terms this season. Historically as a club we’ve been poor at player exits. If Mark wants more money and to move it’s his right. He’s done the business for us when we had him so I’ve no qualms. He’ll cost though, so get the cheque books out.
  10. I can’t see him being happy coming back as a squad player again.
  11. Stowe on the transfer list. A bit of a wow moment but he’s destined to go up a couple of leagues. Given us some great moments and I wish him all the best. Good luck Mark.
  12. Home to Leith Athletic in Rnd 2 of EOS Qualifying Cup
  13. And Jack Thomson a CB from Heriot Watt.
  14. Any chat on signings? Would love to have seen Kavanagh in maroon but good business from Sauchie tying him up on a two year contract in November. If he stays there I make them favourites for winning the league this year.
  15. If we want to challenge yes. I think our squad as it is would have enough to finish comfortably mid table.
  16. That would be a sensible appointment. I hope you boys get it right, it’s been night and day for us since we appointed someone who knows the club inside out and knows what it takes to win. Shirra I think was in your two in a row team before he joined us. Great player and lad. Good luck to him! ps I hope we pump you every time, but I want you at your best when we do.
  17. I hope you don’t get him but Danny Smiths record speaks for itself. Can’t see it being long before he lands one of the big jobs again. Is it three finals in 3 seasons at Dunipace?
  18. Fair play to Danny and Dunipace. A born winner there. For me a manager that should be on anyone’s list in Non League football. Silverware already and potentially another for DUNIPACE. Incredible what he’s achieved there and although disappointed it’s hard to begrudge on of the non league/ Junior games best. Good luck in the final Danny! From the Roses point of view another lead left to slip in a knockout game which is poor but we are up and that was objective number 1 so for a season wrap I’m fairly happy with that. Hail the Gallant!
  19. Guaranteed goals for me. In the right team he could be one of the best strikers in the east premier. I think what holds him back is that he’s probably not a one man up front player and that’s what most of the top teams want to play. Top finisher - he’s played us twice and scored twice which also proves that. On top of that he seems like a good lad, have seen him at a couple Linlithgow games since he left and our players greet him well.
  20. To be fair they did bring in experience at Haws. The team just performed below expectations. Baur, Payne and Allum were solid signings.
  21. Ah I see. My bad I could have sworn I seen those provisional dates in the event we aren’t in a playoff. Assumed that since we aren’t that they’d be the dates.
  22. That game is today and the Newburgh game on 27th now. The Semi Final scheduled for 2nd June for whoever gets through. Penicuik will be at home if they beat Dunipace though so that gala day problem would remain.
  23. Brechin have just had their highest attendance in 5 years and challenged for a title. Dropping into a reserve league is not a better option to rebuild than the status quo.
