  1. Robson has been pretty good for us over the seasons - sometimes brilliant, never bad. I’d like to have seen him stay. The Sheriiff was superb over the run in but is getting on and maybe a year’s contract would have been a risk given his injury history. I would hope we could sign him on short term deals if he can’t secure another club. He deserves a break.

With you. Like it or not, I simply think we're hanging our hat on staying at Hampden.

I'd rather we didn't but can see some reasoning for staying at Hampden. Β But why can't they be upfront and say that? Fans, season ticket holders, members, sponsors, indeed even the local community, should know what the long(er) term plans are!

It probably would be possible with enough strategically placed terracing, iirc currently lesser can fit about 700, so if you could double the size of that stand and cram in enough standing area for 3000 (half the size of gayfield) at the ends then that's over 4000.Β

I think the current stand holds just under 1,000 and the 40 members of the Royale family take the capacity just over 1,000. I would love a decent terracing to be included.

As a strategy, Hampden works if it’s permanent. We hold none of the cards to make that the case and we all remember what happened the last time we relied on the goodwill of the SFA. We have to treat this as temporary or the custard pie in the chops is inevitable down the line.

We need a long term solution and not the haphazard solutions we've been handling (on the off field activities) for the last two or three years.

It's a business agreement with the SFA and, as such, lasts as long as the agreement is for. We have no idea what has been agreed or for how long. I'd accept Hampden as home if it was agreed for 10+ years, as you say - we hold none of the cards so are at the mercy of the SFA. A functional Lesser, with a capacity of 5K would be ideal from my point of view. Sadly, I don't think that building anything bigger at Lesser is possible really.

I think it's a bit of a stretch imagining Lesser being able to host Championship matches.

To be honest, if a team were to use Lesser, I'd rather it were the Strollers / B team. I don't see the pitch being up to two teams playing on it though.

Granted, a fair bit of work is still needed but we were promised "bigger and better" when the plans were changed to incorporate the royal box. What we have so far is smaller and worse. It may well be better for the teams (changing rooms) and directors (royal box) but for the ordinary fan, what we have is really disappointing. I still don't know what they were thinking of.

Back to the play off are ICT fans confident? This to me has a bit of of a Raith scenario where Gary Fu**ing Locke loaned Louis Vaughan to Dumbarton where he proceeded to score goals that helped them to 3rd bottom and us to eventual relegation by losing to Brechin in rhe play offs. By then we had brought in John Hughes. ICT changed manager, let an experienced player move to Queen'sΒ  Park who finished 3rd bottom, and now face an Angus team in the play offs.

Two experienced players to QP - Sheridan and Welsh. Both have been absolutely superb for us.

One of the main reasons we went down this season as cutting budgets to avoid running at a loss, we wont run at a loss again next season. One of the reasons we'll have a bit more of a budget is the parachute payments available to us and the European payments we'll get which are usually paid for the season previous, I think each Premiership club gets about 1m.

Seems to be a way that 'hard up' clubs can make a substantial bit of cash. Could be more lucrative to some to finish 12th rather than 10th!

  8. What a game - really tense at times but the team stood up to the challenge. Bottom of the league at the turn of the year and a long fight for survival. Β A well deserved result if not the prettiest performance. Great work by Callum Davidson and the team! Well worth a 400 mile round trip to watch the game - shame I couldn't stay for a few beers after though.Β πŸ˜…πŸ»

Time for a rest, time to recharge, and let's see what we can do next season.
