Unless I'm misreading the ticket information away fans aren't going to be allowed in the terrace on Saturday? If that's the case then a lot of the appeal of Arbroath away is out the window straight away.
That's really disappointing. The terrace at Garfield is great (ok, not always, eg, when the weather is unkind).

Disappointed that the terracing is closed to QP fans. I used to like my trips to Gayfield.

Presumably all playing for free?
No, we pay our players now. Have you reverted to being an amateur club?

To be honest I was expecting worse today. QP have spent a lot on that squad and look like contenders again. If we can strengthen this week we could get something from the game at Gayfield.
"Spent a lot on that squad" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. Youngsters, academy players and loans - not really breaking the bank.

Another win but lack of goals given the pressure is a bit of a concern.

Sounds a tight game score wise - but, yet again, lots of possession for QP and lots of chances. Surely we'll start to score more soon?

The only permissible shouts are "Play up Queen's" or "Jolly Spiffing Play, what?"

I despair at hearing edicts like this.
We don't want anyone to create an atmosphere at the stadium - the committee might spill their Pimms.

So Ben McPherson has joined us on a season long loan from Celtic. A good move by the club and it will give competition for the right back position now. I'm pretty content with this move.

Remember when ICT didn't have Caledonian Stadium ready for the start of their first season in the premier league? They were forced to play at Pittodrie until they had played every other opponent an equal number of times.
Funny how these rules don't appear to apply when it comes to Glasgow clubs.
Yeah, back then it had to be 6,000 seater stadium too.
Rules change.

Such as playing in Larbert for a season or building a new ground that's patently too small for the level of competition you're playing at.
The pies were pretty good at Stenny.

No offence, but that’s pretty pathetic
Nope - not gonna take offence. I think it's 972 in the stand and 40 in the VIP lane.

I thought there was plans for terracing behind the goal’s?
Was able to get 2 tickets so at least il not miss it. Genuinely don’t know what to expect on Saturday.
I thought there was plans for a stadium but, hey ho.

Looking forward to this double-header but I'm not overly confident. Towards the end of the game on Saturday Highland Thistle exposed some weaknesses in our defence and may well have got lucky with an equaliser. There's no doubt we were, by far, the better team but by not really capitalising on our possession it could have ended differently.
On the other hand, I recognise this is a new team with a new first team coach so the approach will be different. We're still playing the possession game, looking for opportunities and building from the back - it's interesting that our first goal came from pressing the Inverness defence which is what I expected that they would do to us.
Arbroath are capable of grinding a result as they showed against Dundee last season - this ain't going to be easy.

The Highland Thistle Supporters trust has put a fait bit of effort in to this and it's worth a read.

Pretty much ICT are the only team whose “full price ST” doesn’t save* the equivalent of at least 3 PATG tickets…except Dundee United, who change their ST holders more than PATG prices. That is without QP’s PATG prices yet.

Just had a look back at the highlights of the game (the Inverness and QP versions are different) and they both indicate that Queen's were the better team. Good flowing football from us, rarely resorting to hoofball and creating many of the best chances in the match. The Spiders midfield appeared pretty relaxed but the same group for Inverness were a bit disjointed.
Inverness appeared to be tactically poor with no real strategy showing from their play. It would be interesting to know what Dodds' team talk before the match was and how were they set up for the game. They still threatened from time to time with nice breakaways and made a good few opportunities for themselves. Bray, when he came on, showed some great touches but MacKay, on his big day, didn't really show. And it had to be Jake that scored for them!
McKenna was great in goal and it was good to see him, even at 16, telling the defence to get their act together. Longridge at right back had one of his best games in ages - long may that continue and Robson pushing forwards is good to watch. Spong was also great - I don't think he sits as deep as Mal did last season but if he keeps playing like that, we have nothing to worry about. He and Charlie will develop a greater understanding as the season progresses. Hepburn Paton and Thomas can be really exciting going forward and there could be the makings on a good attack line there. Seemed to tire a bit towards the end which could be a worry as the season progresses.
All in all, a good display from a pretty young QP team and great to get the league season off to a winning start. I honestly expected a one all draw but the new lads brought in have settled well and I have some hopes for a good mid-table finish.

Queens seem slightly less attractive to me this season but appear to have added a bit of physicality and bite. Still technically gifted though and certainly aren’t finishing anywhere near the bottom.
I didn’t think there was too much in the match excluding towards the end when it became untidy and rushed from ourselves. That’s to be expected when playing Lewis Hyde and Carson in the middle. I thought we created slightly more good chances while queens played the nicer football.
I think we lack pace, match winners and flair. A pretty basic, one dimensional team that without additions will huff and puff our way to 8th. Someone like Logan Chalmers is needed.
Pretty even on shots but possession very much in QP's favour. That's how it seemed to me at the game as well (apart from the last ten minutes). I thought Thistle were pretty poor today and felt they did not look as composed as they did last season. That said, there is some steel about them as they kept pushing right to the end.
Good luck down at Ayr next week.
