  1. I honestly didn't think things could get worse but here we are - doing our utmost to secure bottom spot before the season has even started. Just who is in charge of the club now? If it's the "Directors" (remember the days when they were committee members?) we need to start getting some communication from them, if it's the President he needs to stand up and be answerable to the supporters, season ticket holders and members.

In my 50+ years of supporting Queen's, I have never felt so low at the start of a season.

  2.

A tight league again this year and really, anything could happen. Falkirk are the dark horses for me, I really don't know how they will perform but, coming off the back of a unbeaten league season, the could continue strong.

Partick and Raith for the top two positions and could easily swap spots. Livi should be there or there abouts too. Dunfermline, Queen's and Ayr might slug it out in mid table along with Airdrie. Hamilton and Morton propping up the league maybe?

    1. Partick

    2. Raith

    3. Livingston

    4. Dunfermline

    5. Queen's Park

    6. Ayr

    7. Falkirk

    8. Airdrie

    9. Hamilton

    10. Morton

A well populated royal box, as the father of a player had to stand on a hill outside the stadium and watch. Stewards there just to make sure no proles could enter the stadium. A club with absolutely no feel for basic common sense or their own loyal punters.

Not a good look from the club.

For more years than I care to remember our committee (voted on by members!) has been made up of predominantly small minded men infatuated with the feeling of power over us mere working class supporters (in their eyes). Thus it will ever be until we actually can find the very knowledgable and capable supporters I know we have who are willing to bite the bullet and put themselves forward for office. We have what we have voted for (no blame intended) but why oh why was our current president ever let near the committee never mind made president? Same goes for Hunter. What credentials does a now retired doctor/surgeon display to be able to run a football club. We need proven business people on the committee who have experience in the real world and can grasp the necessity for inclusivity with members and supporters. They have the media tools available to them in abundance. Use them.

The committee has always been well intentioned - I cannot question their commitment to the club. They have been willing to give up their time to help in some way or other. I really have no idea about their ability to carry out the tasks that they find themselves involved in but would hope that the club, and established committee members, provide support for them to carry out their duties effectively. However, that said, it does seem that some very strange decisions have been made without any real reasons or background given for these decisions. So I've come back to communication again.  If we don't know why a direction has been chosen, there is always the doubt that a better choice could have been made. Lesser Hampden is a prime example - when the original plans were changed, and the work that had been undertaken written off, we were promised something "bigger and better". I believed the club back then but the reality has been a complete and utter shambles. The committee seem to be completely unaccountable to the supporters and members as most decisions are given as a fait accompli. It can be frustrating supporting the club but my heart will always be with them.

We need to get our act together.

It would be nice, a year down the line, for the Club President to give an update on the plan, timeframe and financing of Lesser's development, (or it's successor) into a fit for purpose home for all of QP's activities, not just the Men's team.  This nomadic, uncertain existence has gone on far too long; however and unfortunately, it does continue to appear that the Club's hierarchy deem themselves to be, if not above, then defiantly unanswerable to, the general support.

We're constantly told that things, including the communication, are going to get better but supporters, season ticket holders and members are constantly kept in the dark. It is really frustrating that the committee appear to be happy that we're kept in the dark.

Daily Record suggesting some sort of temporary Hampden solution for Rangers stadium problems.

More convoluted stadium arrangements incoming perhaps

If Hampden is an option for that other team then there appear top be three clash of dates up to end of October (I used October with the idea that they might be better at rebuilding stands than QP).  The first one (10th Aug) we're scheduled to play at Lesser  - we could go to Livi and let them have Lesser for the day (for a fee) - nice changing rooms and directors box, I hear.

Not sure of the other dates - either could switch to an away game I suppose or perhaps a Friday/Sunday arrangement? Whatever the solution is, I reserve the right to complain anyway.

Right now we are far away from where we need to be to have a successful, or even comfortable season.

I’m less concerned at what Thistle and Raith have done (we were never going to finish above them next season anyway) but the good early business done by Morton and Airdrie so far shows what can be done.

The club President’s exact words at the recent supporters meeting were that “Calum Davidson identifies the players he wants to sign and Darren O’Donnell signs them”. Part of a wider defence he was making of the newly appointed Director of Football.

I was willing to give the new club president some leeway, his promises seemed worth listening to and believing. However, things have not changed (was it possible to get even more secretive?).  I expected so much more and hoped the summer break would allow the club to have an effective 'reset' after our crazy continental experiment.  I do live in hope that the bright new dawn is coming.

Don’t know how to feel going into this season.

    what is everyone’s expectations ?

    stay up? play offs? etc

I think we should be solid mid-table but we'll need more depth in the squad to really compete. Final opinion once will probably change when we know what (if any?) signings we make before the transfer window closes at the end of August.

We have a squad  of 20 according to the club website. This figure includes Bannon, Mckinstry &  Williamson.

if these 3 are all off, as seems likely, it leaves us with 17.

19 days until our first league cup match.

Some things never change - and that includes getting info from the club.
