  1. I imagine we've still got an offer in for Scougall, who seems to be on holiday on Dubai, who would be the Swanson replacement. Think TW mentioned the other day he wanted a winger and a more creative player aswell, which hints this is the winger we've been looking at.
  2. Apparently he's been targeted to replace Coulson, which would be a clear upgrade in there. Averaged a goal or assist every 180 minutes for Cheltenham last season. Honestly, I think I'd be happy with it. We've needed an actual left winger for a while, and if he is just taking the Coulson role of "back up/different option" I think we could do worse. He averages virtually a goal or assist every two games for Kilmarnock in the top flight aswell.
  3. Unofficial Twitter has us having James Dayton on trial.
  4. You completely imagine me in Sevco threads. I make, at most, one post a week in there.
  5. This. All the "big" clubs (Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers, Hibs) looking like they have genuine forward momentum, Hearts could join that if they sort themselves out, while even the smaller clubs are making positive moves. Every club seems to receiving decent transfer fees, and every club seems to have decent youth set ups.
  6. Was he? Most folk seemed to realise he was an utter crock
  7. We only got £400k up front for May, but overall ended up recouping just over £1.2m from the deal. I'd be wary of being blinded by the initial fee, as £350k with a 40% sell on fee could be worth much more than £800k up front.
  8. Rumour in Sunderland that Aberdeen have offered to double McInnes' wage and will give him £2m to spend on fees. Martin Bain has flown out to America
  9. Someone's just listed Thomson and Gordon alongside May and Clark as "proof" young players can easily cope with the top flight. Staggering stuff.
  10. So you want to be able to cancel an employees contract, at any point of that contract, with no need for a settlement? Dangerous precedent to set.
  11. He said months ago he only expected one signing before pre-season started, and his plan this season was always to only run with five "proven" defenders as Watson was leaving and he never talked about replacing him. It's just Tommy being a grumpy old f**k like he is sometimes in his interviews.
  12. I think his problem is he wants rid of Watson. If Eastons injured, and Foster plays left back, who plays right back? Comrie? Or Shaughnessy? Then who plays centre half when Joe plays right back? Gordon, Gilchrist or Kerr? I know people say they need to be given a chance, but we've no idea if Kerrs up to it, same with Comrie and Gordon who have barely played in either of the top two divisions. Gilchrist is a perma-crock as well.
  13. Nice to see you're back, is because you're no longer a complete shitehawk, or is it because Dundee actually starting winning games again?
  14. I've no idea, I was just curious. I reckon he's been told he'll be a regular with you, while Championship sides would have him in the reserves. And with the recent trend of English sides to pluck the best players up here and actually play them, he's decided, in the long term, he'd be better starring up here and trying to get a move, then sitting in their stands. It's a mindset I feel more Scottish clubs should be exposing.
  15. I'm not sure he would. It's nice to see you so excited about a signing though. Wonder what the top 5 Dundee moments of the last decade are? 1. Relegating United 2. St Johnstone winning the Scottish Cup 3. Having a friendly v Crystal Palace 4. Finishing in the top half that one time Can't think of a fifth, so signing Scott Allan must be a strong contender
  16. Says he's wanting a replacement. Sounded like Coulson is gone as well, but "it's not been finalised" apparently. Wonder if that means a mutual termination or transfer away? TWs wishlist is now an experienced defender capable of playing left back, a creative attacking player and a striker. Be nice if we could get some form of movement there. Perthsaint1977 mentioned a striker earlier, while we'll likely wait for Scougall to reject us next month then scramble about for another option. No idea where we'll find a defender, but we've a good habit of turning average ones solid.
  17. Makes you wonder why none of them made a move for him? Assume they'd be outspending Dundee.
  18. This. They offered £250k for O'Halloran in six installments, we rejected it, and then spent the next week being slaughtered in the media for holding them to ransom
  19. A great couple of signings for Dundee, very jealous of Allan, don't know much about Deacon though, tbh.
  20. It's not a case of trust, it's a case of only spending the money we have.
  21. I don't see what their underachievement has to do with anything? Worth noting Lomas apparently had a larger budget than Wright had last season. You virtually jizz yourself with excitement whenever I post in a Dundee thread, telling me how obsessed I am with Dundee (have you not claimed multiple times to have me on ignore as well?). Yet you're in an Aberdeen thread, in a conversation about the St Johnstone manager, scanning my posts for grammatical errors? Very interesting.
