  1. Aberdeen still need a point at Ibrox to guarantee 2nd. Rangers will finish in the Top 3. Saints will finish 4th. If hearts match thistles result they will finish 5th. Killie and Ross Co will play premiership football next year. Motherwell are now safe from the auto drop meaning it's between ict and Hamilton for bottom spot. A Dundee win or anything other than a Hamilton win will see Dundee safe. If Motherwell better Hamiltons result then they are safe. If Inverness fail to better the Hamilton result they will be relegated.
  2. Well done Man U. Mourinho talking about resting players vs Arsenal. Looks like he's going all out for the europa.
  3. Killie now safe from the automatic drop after the weekend. 'Rangers' now need a point to secure European football for the first time ever. Aberdeen will secure 2nd if they better 'Rangers' result. Saints can guarantee a top 5 finish by matching Thistle's result. Caley could be relegated this weekend if they lose to Hamilton and Dundee and Motherwell win. Ross County will be safe from the automatic drop if they win or Caley don't. Hamilton will be safe from the automatic drop if they beat Caley. Dundee will be safe from the automatic drop if they win and Caley dont. Motherwell will be safe from the automatic drop if they win and Caley lose.
  4. I think because the Europa League winners qualify directly for the CL groups, therefor Utd would be better off by winning the EL than finishing 4th
  5. Perfectly feasible for Man U to finish 3rd. Only 3 behind lollerpool with 2 games in hand. Only a point behind city and they play this week.
  6. Victory for Killie and a defeat for ICT will mean that Killie avoid automatic relegation. 'Rangers' will secure European football for the first time if they can match Hearts result.
  7. People wishing other peoples kids a happy birthday on Facebook.
  8. Yeah done this before as well to go to Perth. Book from Aberdeen to Glasgow for cheapness. Never had any bother. Personally it reflects pretty poorly on ScotRail's pricing structure that it's cheaper to go to terminating stations rather than intermediates. I get that these are special tickets but if it's say £50 return for a 4 man fare from Aberdeen, why not make it £30 to Dundee, £40 to Perth. £45 to Stirling. While maintaining the limited availability of these tickets. 9 times out of 10 these trains are half empty anyway.
  9. Aberdeen can clinch European football by beating St Johnstone this weekend. 'Rangers' can clinch a top 5 finish by beating Thistle.
  10. Hearts can no longer finish 2nd but clinch a top 6 spot. County will finish bottom 6. As for the weekend. If Aberdeen better saints result they will clinch European football. If thistle match killies result they will make the top 6.
  11. No, both Hearts and Rangers can still finish ahead of Aberdeen if Saints lose tonight. Were Hibs to defend the cup, then only 2nd and 3rd would qualify for the Europa League. As I said, the Dons have secured a Top 4 finish already. 4th will qualify for the Europa league if Celtic win the Cup or if Aberdeen or Rangers win the Cup and also finish in the Top 3 of the league.
  12. Aberdeen now guaranteed a Top 4 finish. Hearts would have to win all games to mathematically catch Aberdeen and were they to do so, they would beat Saints twice, leaving Saints with a maximum of 61 points. Aberdeen have won 20 matches for four consecutive seasons for the first time since 1981/82 to 1984/85, a period in which they were champions twice. We've never done it for 5 consecutive seasons
  13. Thistle's win yesterday denies Aberdeen a guaranteed Top 5 finish. Hearts still need a point to seal the top 6 A win for Aberdeen and anything other than a win for Hearts in midweek will see the Dons clinch a top 4 slot. We are 6 goals away from 500 for the season in the top flight.
  14. Currently slated for that but depends who wins the Champions League and Europa League this season. There's a more than reasonable chance that the cup winners will get in qr 2
  15. Could be a lot happening in the next round of fixtures. Caley Hamilton and Motherwell could all be condemned to the bottom 6. The dons could seal a top 5 finish. Saints and hearts can seal top 6.
  16. I think it will get the go ahead. The nimbys are worried about views etc but there are business parks and a fucking massive Tesco in the middle of kingswells/westhill. Light pollution is another common complaint but the floodlights will not be on all the time, plus its 200 yards from the AWPR which I'm guessing will be fairly well lit, all the time. People talking about redeveloping Pittodrie are forgetting about the contribution that the sale of Pittodrie will make to the new place and the dedicated training facilities are a major part of this development. It's all very well saying to redevelop Pittodrie, but where do we train. Main stand would probably need done first. If we were to develop the South Stand first, we lose probably almost half the capacity of the ground, maybe more as away fans would probably be housed in the Merkie. If we do main stand first we are losing the revenue from all the boxes and the hospitality suites. As much as I'd love the Dons to stay there I just don't think it's practical in any way.
  17. Having a look at potential seedings for next season. If Aberdeen qualify for EL they will likely be seeded in both Qr 1 and 2, based on last season. This may work against us as beating a seeded team gives you their ranking for Qr 3. In the case of beating Rijeka this meant we ended up seeded in qr 3. No chance of that this time. St J would likely be seeded in qr 1 and 2 as well. Although they will likely need Aberdeen, Rangers or Celtic to win the cup and to overhaul hearts for 4th. Very doable. Hearts would likely be right on the seeding line for qr2. Last season a coefficient of 5.775 got you seeded, hearts are currently 5.785. If hibs defend the cup they will be unseeded in qr2. 4.785. Any other team qualifying for qr 2 by winning the cup. Or if rangers finish 2nd and lose the final to Celtic and enter in qr 2, they will be unseeded. There's also the possibility or rangers qualifying for qr1 through lge position. They'd be on the line for seeding in qr1 as they'd only get Scotland base coefficient of 3.785 although 3.625 was enough to be seeded in qr1 last year.
  18. With the exhibition centre moving to bucksburn I'm surprised the club didn't look into the current aecc site. It has a similar footprint to the kingsford site and you could argue that with it still being comfortably within the city boundaries there would be less requirement for parking.
  19. Slight miscount on my part then. I thought the way the fixtures worked we were home and dry.
  20. Adam Rooney became Aberdeen's top scorer since the millennium with his double against Stranraer in the cup.
  21. Nice wee coupon on Saturday. Celta, Valladolid, psv, Bordeaux and inter. £134 for £5
  22. I think my body is just being a dick. Or it could be the lack of sleep due to dissertation being handed in today.
