  1. Aberdeen played the Dundee teams 8 times in the league and only suffered 2 defeats. What was it uncle ebbe said about stats and miniskirts again???
  2. Which is why it'll be hilarious watching them die again. They would still be a bigger club than the two I mentioned but Leeds are a bigger club than Bournemouth and look at their respective positions. In terms of sporting achievement the orcs would have to target St J, Aberdeen and ICT on any first season back in the top flight rather than immediately looking to challenge Celtic for the title. On a European front. I'd wager that they don't make the group stages of the Europa League by 2020
  3. I just can't see how the the rangers are ever going to be on a sound financial footing. Most of the Orc bluster seems to centre around challenging for the league title and european football. There's very little prize money in Scotland and they've won 1 of their last 25 European games. Even if they finish 2nd in the premiership in season 2016/17 (which they won't) they'll be in Europa league qualifying round 1 for season 17/18, may be unseeded for said qualifier (definitely unseeded for round 2) and face having to win 4 x 2 legged ties to make the group stages. If the thinking is to throw money at it until they reach some sort of European promised land then they have 18 months existence tops. Either the Orcs accept being a club of similar size and stature to an Aberdeen or a Dundee Utd or we all sit back and watch them suffer a painful death again.
  4. Oh the seethe was tremendous. He wasn't having any of the Shinnie signing either, actually had to show him the AFC website page with it when he signed the pre-contract. I actually made up a rumour about Ryan Christie a few months back just to wind him up but at this rate it may end up being true. In all fairness, it must be incredibly frustrating and I reckon another fairly successful season for us will lead to our team being broken up next summer.
  5. Watkins would be a great signing. Told an ICT fan about the rumour yesterday and the seethe was epic.
  6. Apparently a big announcement coming today regarding Dave King's future funding plans for the club.
  7. Just a thought. If they do manage to negotiate the playoffs, do we not all think that there may be hefty 'promotion bonuses' due to the squad.
  8. Good to see Andy Considine get a testimonial at AFC last night. At least another 7 years until a Sevconian can be considered for one of them. Reading that interview with Murray, there seems to be a lot of 'getting round to it' and 'looking into it'
  9. Possible legal ramifications. Ha ha ha ha. I'd just love to see (the) rangers try and take on Ashley/Newcastle/Llambias etc in court.
  10. Is the bigotfest really that big a draw. I wonder how many people Daan sarf tuned into the Cup Semi. My guess is going to be not that many.
  11. Yeah I looked it up too, thought it had to be seen to be believed. Wow, just wow.
  12. Aye that's the kind of folk that I mean. When we make 3 or 4 passes along the back "GET IT FORWARD". If Goodwillie fails to hold up the punt up the park "FFS GOODWILLIE MIN YA LAZY BASS" or if the punt goes nowhere near anyone "FA THE F*** WIZ THAT TO" It's really quite comical sometimes.
  13. Ah right so if a team creates a bit of wonderful football then the defence should always be able to stop it. Dundee don't create that moment of magic very often, that's why they are Dundee and not Real Madrid but when they do create a bit of football like that then you just have to stand back and take your hat off to it. That's another thing that bugs me about our fans, is the sense of entitlement that we seem to think we have.
  14. Come on, these are Aberdeen supporters we are talking about, why actually watch the football and have any knowledge of it when you can be a, pardon the pun, sheep and just follow the rest of the crowd and have a scapegoat. Now that Clangers has been bombed out it appears to be McGinn and Goodwillie that are the present targets. Never mind all the work that they do off the ball, all Goodwillie's hold up play and the fluid nature of both their movement, they are clearly just lazy bassas who are short-changing the fans. I've said this for many years but I believe that Aberdeen supporters are among the least knowledgeable about football in the country and some of the things I've heard this season simply re-enforce this belief. The lovely 2nd goal that we lost to Dundee at Pittodrie where we were carved apart in about 6-8 passes was described by some around me as 's**** defending', give it a rest.
  15. My point is that I stand by what I said about the Hearts games. That was directed at Austin McCann. As for the Motherwell game, I said that a scrappy 1-0 win might do us some good and give the defence some confidence, we won 1-0. Does that explain things for you.
  16. I stand by what I said. Had enough chances to win 5 games at tynecastle and McGinn missed a pen for 2-0 and game over at Pittodrie. Maybe you weren't at the games. Did I call for a scrappy gritty 1-0 against Motherwell. Job done.
  17. Aye there's been a wee bitty too much over-reaction to the Hamilton result. I think that one of the issues with the Dons so far this season is of the four defeats we've had, we've been honking in three of the games (Utd, St J and Accies), and the games that we've won, we've played pretty decent. Maybe dug it out against ICT and Dundee but in entertaining games. It was like last season when we destroyed Hearts in two of the games that we played against them but lost them both. Perhaps what we really need against Motherwell is a scabby, gritty 1-0, perhaps holding on for 2-1 against St Mirren might've made a difference to the confidence of the defence. I'm still fairly confident that we'll finish in the top 3 and I think that we'll finish 2nd. If we pick up 3 points against Motherwell at Pittodrie on Friday then 19 points from 11 games is not too bad a return and will give us something to build on for the rest of the season. Things were tanking along ok until the Hamilton game and it's a big few weeks for our season, wins against Motherwell and County and cup progression against Hamilton will set us up bonny for the Celtic game and the rest of the campaign. Not to worry ye.
  18. Cheers for the info. Just trying to gauge roughly the impact on away crowds of the difference between Div 1 and SPL level football. If we go to a big league it's gonna have a larger impact on Ross Co, ICT and Aberdeen I'd say.
  19. Congrats to County, well done lads. Just a quick question. What's ur travelling support been like to say Killie or M'Well this season in comparison to going to Ayr or Airdrie in previous seasons in terms of numbers. Roughly. Cheers
