  1. I think he’s chatting about promotion/relegation between the LL and the leagues below. I really hope so anyway, because the idea of 4 relegation spots in a 10 team league is fucking mental.
  2. I, for one, would love to see the “accredited evidence-based academic research published in Journal” written by Steven fucking Gerrard
  3. I assume it's Dejan Lovren getting all four goals...
  4. Sounds fucking brilliant, to be honest with you.
  5. Do you think the following statement is accurate, and one of the things that Rev Stu has pegged about Sturgeon? Nicola Sturgeon busily turns Scotland into a vicious, spiteful, intolerant, authoritarian and misogynist country
  6. Yes, because it would make it easier for Man City to hoard good young players. It’s an especially bad example given that Jadon Sancho was playing in the Bundesliga every week after leaving, rather than League Two or wherever Man City’s B team would be - is that better for the England national team? You’re either unable to read or at it, but in any case let’s have a look at a case study of a current Scotland international - Stephen O’Donnell. He was released by Celtic at 19 years old, having previously played for Aberdeen youths and at that point had no senior appearances. He then went on to play 60 First Division games over the next 2 seasons for Thistle, winning promotion to the premiership in the process by 21. So, how much better a player would he be if he’d just stayed at Celtic and played 60 odd Lowland league games instead?
  7. March 2056 Just one game this month, and a good start to our league campaign - albeit against the side that finished second bottom last season. I'll take that. Too early to read anything into it, but there's the table just now.
  8. Transfers - 2056 Whole load of hopeless dross sold and/or released. And now the new boys... Teemu Julin is a centre half, and a significant imporvement of what I had last season. He hasn't got very much technical ability, but he's a very solid defender. Jere Paavolainen is a left back. Good going forward, not a brilliant defender, but I'm pretty pleased with him and I think he'll add a good bit to the team. Sieppi is a centre midfielder, and basically just adds a bit of depth to the squad. Good technical player, nothing special but certainly good enough for the bench. Jaako Rantasalo is an attacking midfielder, and can also provide depth in central midfield. Good player, although I suspect his end product may be lacking, but he'll do well. Jens Kaki is a striker, and has some very good stats. His goal scoring record in the Finnish top flight is about 1 in 3 games, so hopefully he can at least keep that up. Definitely better than what I had last season anyway. Beinir Agnarsson is on loan until his contract expires, and then joins us permanently for free. He's the signing I'm most pleased with. His crossing is poor, but other than that he's a very good winger for this level.
  9. Finnish Cup Group Stage - 2056 Finnish Cup starts with a group stage - for some reason we have the first four games in four weeks, then a three week break until the final one. Anyways, we did pretty well, especially considering we were playing against exclusively Premiership opponents. HJK were last season's champions, Honka came fifth while the other three were bottom half. But still, I'm very pleased with that as a newly promoted side. We only lost to HJK in the last minute after playing 20 minutes with 10 men. Sees us safely through to the next round. League season starts later this month.
  10. Even if colt teams are good for youth development, I would still completely oppose them. The lower leagues don't exist just to develop players for bigger sides.
  11. Pretty certain Turner’s played quite regularly for them, and no, I don’t think he’ll stay there. He’ll get a better offer than them, and probably us too.
  12. Aye, this would have to be the hope. Obviously clubs like BSC and Caledonian Braves have no fanbase to consider, but you'd like to think that clubs like Shire, Spartans and Gretna could convinced with a bit of fan pressure.
  13. Somerville has been a Cabinet Secretary for a wee while now, so think she’ll possibly get something again - one of the lower profile ones I’d imagine. I would have guessed at Gougeon as well, but she’s not long taken up her new Ministerial post so probably keep her there. I would also expect that Matheson rather than Brown to be one of the four guys, but who knows really.
  14. Aye, I’ve emailed Thistle asking them to support any and all measures taken against the Lowland league. I doubt it’ll make any difference, but f**k it.
  15. This is just, objectively, absolute shite. I'm pretty certain the Tories 2019 manifesto said nothing about using a global pandemic as an excuse to funnel a fucking ton of public money into their pal's pockets, but I can still judge them for it.
  16. I really don't think many Green voters are likely to switch to a ragtag bunch of bigots and nutters.
  17. Under 23's African Cup of Nations - 2055 November 2055, and it's time to take my Nigeria under 23's side to the AFCON. I'm going to resign at the end of this regardless of what happens, I only took the job for a shot at this. Anyway, our group is Tunisia, Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guinea. I think we should be getting through that, Equatorial Guinea are shite, both Tunisia and Ivory Coast are decent enough but I think we should be better than them too. Anyways, onto the tournament.
  18. This utter nonsense has always annoyed me. Not this specific example, just the way FM throws in “mind the time you made a c**t of it” to everything.
  19. Even if we were to assume that’s true, I take it that there’s no attempt to examine why defining yourself against Westminster does well in Scotland? Edit: or anywhere else, for that matter.
  20. Actually thinking about it, Boris Johnson has never called me a bigot either. Rule Brittania.
  21. I can only assume that they want their refugees murdered by Holyrood, not Westminster.
  22. September 2055 A walk in the park. Only loss was against Jazz who were looking to secure a playoff spot, while we had wrapped up the title a couple of games earlier. Done and dusted. Most of the work was done prior to me turning up, but we still took nine wins and a draw from my 11 games in charge. All about building a side to do well in the top flight next season now. Nigeria under 23s Another very easy progression through, and we've qualified for the tournament proper. The other teams there will be Senegal, Tunisia, Guinea-Bissau, South Africa, Egypt, Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guinea. Takes place in a month or so.
  23. August 2055 Good month. We're well on track for the title with this sort of form, so that's nice. And I'm still unbeaten. 11 points clear with five games to go, and we go into the promotion group now. Should have it wrapped up shortly.
  24. July 2055 Just the one game for me this month, but it was good to get my reign started with a win. No real change at the top, the lead will be back to eight points if we win our game in hand.
