  1. I agree, I just have a feeling that McCall will have him in his plans for next season. I would still be slightly interested to see him playing next to someone half decent - playing next to Sean McGinty can't be a fun time for anyone.
  2. Unfortunately, I think our central defensive partnership next season is likely to include Tam O’Ware. Admittedly, I think most of his Thistle career to date has been beside Sean McGinty so maybe (and I’m aware I’m massively clutching at straws here) with a competent player next to him, which Brownlie appears to be, he might be ok.
  3. And on the back of that, we're expanding the stadium again. It makes sense, we've had 6 sellouts this season and have an average attendance which is 90% of our capacity. Apparently, we're now the fifth biggest club in Georgia, and the fourth biggest in Tblisi, so that's nice.
  4. David Kipiani Cup Final - 2053 Well, it's our second consecutive cup final, and this time we face Saburtalo. It'll be a tough game, but I think we're in with a shot. We've beaten them before this season. My main concern is that Gil and Havel are both injured, although I've given them injections to hopefully make it through the game. We'll see if that works out...
  5. November 2053 Well, we didn't even hold up our end of the bargain if we were going to win the league, but that's a pretty decent end to the season all things considered. Final table looks like this. Shoutout to Gil who finished top scorer with 20, and Petr Havel who got the most assists with 13. Five losses all season, and three of them were against a pretty poor Samtredia side. If I can sort that out, we'll be challenging again next season, and more seriously this time. I think my first 11 is more than capable, I just really need a couple of players and some depth. One more shot at glory this season, with the Cup final.
  6. October 2053 Well, on the positive side, we're in the Cup final for the second year running, and I finally beat Samtredia, which was fucking delightful. However, that's all slightly overshadowed by an absolute pumping we took off Saburtalo, which completely ends our title chances. 4-1 flatters them a little bit, but they undoubtedly deserved to win. Shame. Aye, we need to hope that they lose all three of their remaining games, while we win all four of ours. Basically, it's no happening. We face Saburtalo in the cup final, and will be playing them in the Super Cup next season as well.
  7. September 2053 That's more like it. As I said, a load of my players were absolutely fucked after the previous month, and I got the perfect opportunity to rest them against lower league Samegrelo in the cup, followed by the international break. It worked well, and we were superb in all three of the games after that. We're now guaranteed at least second place, and are five points behind with seven games left. We'll be playing them one more time, so have the opportunity to make it two points and need to hope they drop something else. We'll be playing in Europe next season if nothing else though.
  8. August 2053 Busy month, but I'll start with the most important bit. I fucking hate Samtredia. Absolutely despise them. I really don't know what it is, I just can't seem to beat them. Anyway, our European run came to an end at the hands of Marseille, and to be honest, it's a blessing. My squad simply doesn't have the depth to deal with an extended European run, as evidenced by our poor run of form this month. We did, however, get back on track with wins against Dinamo Batumi and Lokomotivi. We've fallen back from just two behind to seven, but we've just about managed to remain in touch with Saburtalo. We're almost certainly going to finishing at least second though, would take an absolutely monumental collapse of Falkirk in April 2021 proportions to slip below that.
  9. July 2053 Transfer window was open this month, I had a couple of my back up players leave and brought in a new goalkeeper - my number 1, Carlos Ceballos, got injured for the rest of the season so needed someone quickly, and Zurab Gogia joins from Hibs for 100k. Georgian, so doesn't count for foreign players, and he's better than Ceballos as well. Pleased. Another great month - mostly playing against some of the poorer sides in the league, but the European games against Midtjylland were outstanding stuff, and means that we're further than I expected to get. Also, nice that the new boy Gogia has only conceded one in his first 6 games for us. Some more points dropped by Saburtalo, and we're still in the title chase. And we're facing Hungarian side Fehervar in the next round. I think we'll have a good chance at getting through, which has us one tie from the group stages.
  10. June 2053 A fantastic month, and that win against Saburtalo was great. Puts us back into something resembling a title race. We also beat Dinamo Batumi, who were our closest competitor for second, and comfortably through in the Cup, so aye, very pleased. Aye, we're back in the race after that month, and Saburtalo dropped some other points too. We've got a chance now. Just need to stay consistent.
  11. I’d quite like Montrose promoted. I’ve never been to their ground, would like the opportunity next season. I also think they’ll be a weaker side if promoted than Falkirk, Cove or Airdrie would be, so that’d be helpful. I don’t think we’ll lie down, but we’ll undoubtedly rest players and they’ll be a few guys in holiday mode already given it’s a nothing game. Meanwhile, Montrose will have their strongest team out and it’s a huge game for them. Wouldn’t be remotely surprised, or bothered, if we lose.
  12. McCall listed about 5 of our main players as ‘shouldn’t even have played tonight’ after the Falkirk game, so it’s a fairly safe bet we’ll be playing a substantially weakened side against you.
  13. Is it even true? I know you have a couple of teenagers playing centre half and the boy Fotheringham on the wing, but surely most of the rest of the team aren’t exactly youngsters just starting out? Sammon, Alston, Gomis, Miller, even Sean Kelly and Scott Mercer have played plenty of games, almost entirely at levels above this.
  14. Enjoyed that quite a lot. Thought Stirling were quite good, and if the boy Bikey had any end product, you'd have had a fair few more chances. Stranraer didn't create a lot, but were clinical with what they did. Edit: and it was nice to see Div Wilson playing well. Good ball in for the first and set up the absolute sitter that was missed about ten minutes from the end.
  15. May 2053 Fucking Samtredia again. Everything up until that point had been great, but we just could not score against them. We created a fair amount of chances, they had nothing other than the goal, and yet we lost. Just one of those games. I think we're looking at securing second and that being the extent of our season, which would still be a success for me. Saburtalo are just too far ahead this season.
  16. April 2053 A decent month, bookended by two shite results. Losing to Saburtalo isn't too bad, they're still the best side in the division, but drawing with newly promoted Telavi is really, really poor. We just didn't get going in that game at all. Good wins over Lokomotivi and Dinamo Batumi though, and comfortably through in the cup. Well, we're still second but we're already six points behind Saburtalo and have now lost as many games as they lost in the whole of last season. Surprising to see Lokomotivi and Dinamo Tblisi doing so poorly as well.
  17. Thinking of watching this, I assume it’s a Pixellot effort?
  18. March 2053 ] One wee blip, but that's an excellent start to the season. The only goal we've conceded was a penalty, and we've looked incredibly good going forward in every game, including against Samtredia where all that was missing was the final ball. Early days, but that's where we want to be.
  19. Transfers - 2053 Right, quite a lot of outgoing players. The biggest one was Giorgi Nikoleishvili, my best centre back at only 18 years old, heading off to Benfica. He asked to leave, and I agreed if we got a bid of 750k he could go, thinking that no one would bid that, but then Benfica immediately came in over that, so had to let him go. He's now on loan at Dinamo Tblisi, which is a pisser. Rybus and Gillies are the only other ones who got regular games last season, but neither are really good enough so not as big a loss. Ivanovic I covered last season, but I'm not taking a new screenshot so. Anyway, Tsetskladze is a back up attacking/centre midfielder. He's young and pretty decent, good on the ball. Should develop a bit, and definitely gives me someone competent for when Ivanovic is injured/suspended, which I didn't really have last season, so that's good. Giorgi Natroshvili is a central midfielder, and I'm planning on him being a starter for me. Like Tsetskhladze, he's very good on the ball, and his vision and work rate are both excellent. I'm pleased with him, he's certainly an improvement on Rybus who he's basically a replacement for. Mirsad Omerovic is a centre half, and he looks pretty good. He's pretty limited on the ball, but he can defend solidly, and has a bit of pace as well. He's also got Georgian citizenship and doesn't count towards my foreign players quota, which is hugely important given I've filled it. Now, I think that Petr Havel is the best signing I've made. He just looks fantastic. That's all I really have to say. Orlando Figueroa is another centre back, I probably could have done without him, but he looks very good too. Can pass as well as defend, and should be able to form a solid partnership with Omerovic. Lastly, I needed a left back. Neither Radu not Maroales looked particularly comfortable there last season, so I've brought in Doherty from Falkirk. I was looking for someone a bit better going forward than he is, but I couldn't find one. He's a bit of a panic signing to be honest, but he's good defensively and has the pace and stamina to get up and down the park effectively, so we'll see how it goes. So that's my team. Again, I think we're a better side than we were last season. We'll see how it goes.
  20. Georgian Super Cup - 2053 I didn't realise that Georgia had a Super Cup, but we're in it after winning the cup. Obviously, we're facing last season's champions Saburtalo, who we actually have a decent record against.
  21. While Falkirk are absolutely pish, Cove aren't. Morton could have a tough time, especially if nonsense like Sean McGinty or Robbie Muirhead are regulars.
  22. David Kipiani Cup Final - 2052 This is the biggest game in the club's history, and we're facing Lokomotivi Tblisi - a side who've beaten us 3-0 in our last two meetings, so they definitely go into it as favourites. I have actually got a good record in Cup finals throughout this save - the only ones I can remember losing are an Estonian Cup final with Paide and one of my Icelandic cup finals. Anyway, onto the game itself...
  23. December 2052 Decent way to round off the season. On to the cup final now. Very good for my first full season in charge, and we'll be going into European competition next season. If we can win the cup, I'll call it a great season.
  24. November 2052 Well, we were soundly beaten by Dinamo Tblisi, but we were extremely comfortable in the other two games - especially the Dila Gori game which was emphatic. Hattricks for both my wingers as well. With one league game to go, we've secured that fourth placed spot, and given that we play Lokomotivi in the final of the cup, we'll be playing in Europe next season.
  25. October 2052 A great result against Samtredia which really puts us in the driving seat for fourth, and we got through to the Cup final as well. Another very positive month. Four points ahead with four games left, we should be finishing in fourth from here, and the cup final coming up too.
