  1. Did Robin McAlpine not out himself as an complete w****r recently? Something about asking someone if they’d been raped to prove that sexism isn’t real? edit: it’s apparently a Craig Berry who’s joined Alba
  2. I don’t know her politics particularly, but it’s more that she’s much too toxic to be let back into the SNP, and will undoubtedly be out on her arse come the next election. If she can sneak in on Alba’s list, she’s set for a while. Id be amazed if Derek McKay joins, because I’d be amazed if he wants to stay in frontline politics at the minute.
  3. The Greens weren’t set up with the express intention of gaming the system. I think the whole super-majority thing is a complete red herring anyway. Firstly, you don’t need a supermajority, a majority of one for indy is enough of a mandate. And secondly, it won’t matter - Johnson isn’t going to grant a referendum just because Salmond has rocked up. This is all about getting Salmond into Holyrood, and nothing else.
  4. Leaving aside the rest of this pish, Matt Le Tissier is an absolute moron, and there’s roughly zero people who I wouldn’t rather listen to about any subject.
  5. We’ve had 3 general elections in the 7 years since the independence vote, which by my calculations isn’t every 4 years. And why, specifically, should referenda be ‘spaced much further apart than that’? All referenda, or just ones on Scottish independence?
  6. That’s literally what an election is, and we have those all the time, mate.
  7. I just listened there. Allegedly, Zaluska called him a *** and said he was going to kill him. He also claimed that he only slapped Zaluska, and then when he went away someone else punched him, which is what caused the injuries.
  8. Aye, it’s all absolutely bizarre. Johnson is the ultimate opportunist, there’s not a single scenario in which he’ll grant a referendum, because he doesn’t care about democracy or mandates. If 100% of the Scottish electorate voted SNP/SNP, he’d say no.
  9. He just wants to be able to hit out with his “they always do it the hard way” patter. Don’t think I’ve ever heard him go a game without saying it.
  10. October 2047 I got the win I needed against Kuwait, which was ideal - especially given that we only had 34% possession in the game. They did nothing with the ball though, and we never looked like losing. Wanted to keep it lower against Australia, but 3-0 isn't a complete humiliation. Just move on from it. Currently in 3rd, but we've still to play Hong Kong, which I would imagine would be a game we should win fairly comfortably. Another round against everyone still to go as well. Still waiting on a job - Finnish side FC Honka said no, annoyingly. They'd have been a good side to tick Finland off with, but oh well.
  11. They haven’t won a game that wasn’t against either San Marino or Andorra since 2014, so aye, they’re pretty shite.
  12. September 2047 That Lebanon result is genuinely outstanding. We were comfortably the inferior side throughout the game, and they were very wasteful with chances, and then Adil Ali, a 24 year old defensive midfielder making his international debut, fired a shot in from about 30 yards into the top corner. A brilliant start to the campaign. The win against Macau was pretty shite. I mean, we did beat them, but we should be putting far more than 2 goals past shite like that. Lebanon, who I thought would be our main competitor for 2nd place have had a shocker of a start, losing to us, and Kuwait via a 93rd minute penalty. Pleasing to see, as I've also realised that being one of the better second placed sides could send us through to the final qualifying round and give us a shot at getting to the World Cup We've got Kuwait and Australia next month. I'm looking to beat Kuwait, and keep the score down v Australia. No club job yet.
  13. June 2047 A good draw against Uzbekistan, followed by a fairly comfortable and entirely expected win against Taiwan. We also got the draw for the World Cup Qualifiers We have no chance, given only the top side in this group goes through, and that'll be Australia. If we can come second, that'd be a good result.
  14. Just for my own interest, this is how the leagues in Scotland look at the end of the 2046/47 season... Premiership Championship League One League Two Both Annan and Cowdenbeath have been out the national divisions for over 20 years at this point, while the team who have fared the worst seems to be Queen of the South - they've only spent 2 season outside League Two since 2032/33. Morton also had a spell in the bottom tier, finishing 9th in it one season. The cups have fluctuated between the OF, with Hibs (twice), Livi, Hearts and Dundee United the only other sides to win the Scottish Cup, while Motherwell and Hearts are the only teams to get the League Cup. The Challenge Cup has, predictably, become a nonsense, with youth teams and foreign sides regularly making the final and/or winning it.
  15. If we play like we did in the second half, we should be fine. Looks like Forfar’s keeper had an absolute horror show against Falkirk, should have saved the first goal and was entirely responsible for the second. I say fire shots at him whenever possible and see what happens.
  16. April 2047 We had to wait a couple of weeks longer than I wanted since we couldn't find a way past San Gwann, but as above it was job done against Floriana, and then I played a couple of the reserves as we saw out the season with a comfortable win against Sirens. Kari Arge has had another outstanding season for me. His career record now reads 100 games, 84 goals. I realise that it's been exclusively at absolutely shite levels of football, but that's no bad at all. And the final table looks like this, we're comfortable winners. One loss all season, against a fairly bad team as well, but can't complain with that and it's job done in Malta. Next up - The Failed Statelet.
  17. March 2047 Well, the three league wins are great, and put us on the brink of clinching the title. We were put out of the cup on penalties though, after throwing away a 2-0 lead, so that slightly annoyed me, but the main prize has always been the league - and we're almost certain to win that. As I said, we're about to win the league. We're 7 points clear with 9 to play for. We still have San Gwann, Floriana and bottom side Sirens to play - we really should be picking up at least 3 points from that. Almost there. Malaysia Just a friendly, but good to win against a fairly similarly ranked side in Kyrgyzstan. I was hoping after the Asian Cup that a better job would come up, but it didn't, so I'll have a go at the World Cup qualifiers with Malaysia. If I don't qualify, that'll be me I think - I'm not going to achieve better than I have with them.
  18. Conrad Balatoni, James Craigen and Bobo Balde are all good guys. Ross McCormack is a w**k. edit: I also saw, but didn’t speak to, Chris Coleman in Dubai airport and he looked like a properly miserable c**t, but it was about 6 in the morning so not sure if that was a fair reflection or not.
  19. February 2047 The month started poorly, with my best player leaving to join Hibernians. They are the only professional team in the league, and have given him a fairly hefty wage rise, but it's still a pain in the arse. From there though, the month turned out brilliantly. We couldn't get past Melita, despite dominating completely, but Jordan Hurley showed that signing him was worth it with goals in wins against our title rivals Valletta and Hibernians. We also destroyed Mellieha, which puts us in a very good position in the title race. 6 games left, and we have a 5 point lead. The only top side we've still to play is Floriana, and we have 3 of the bottom 5 still to play as well. We should have enough to see it out from here.
  20. January 2047 Started the month with a signing - Jordan Hurley, an Irish centre midfielder who looks pretty tidy on the ball, and certainly good enough for my side. Pleased with him. Well, my unbeaten run came to an end, but other than that it was g good month. The loss was the first game where we've played really badly, and really frustrating given that Marsa are quite a bad team, but we've scored 3 in every other league game this month, and got through to the cup semi final. Despite the loss, we've gone top by a point. I'd say it's now between three teams, and we're playing Valletta and Hibernians next month, away from home, so that could be huge for the title race.
  21. Switzerland pretty much Greece 2004'd their way through to the final - 2 penalty shootouts and a 1-0. Ukraine appear to have a very, very good team, although they also got through their group as one of the third placed sides. Absolutely no idea how China ended up winning the Copa America though. I thought the weirdest one was the 2022 World Cup - a Croatia v USA final, with Iran and Belgium the other semi finalists...
